Chapter One Hundred and Two - Shareholder

Adian and I were the last to enter the boardroom. smiling awkwardly, "afternoon", I greeted everyone, simultaneously, until my eye catches uncle Allan.

Smiling, he stood up and I rushed into his open arms. "I remembered you" I whispered softly into his ear, feeling him nod.

Kissing the top of my head, "we'll talk later then." He kisses my cheeks after I nodded, agreeing to meet with him.

"I have been waiting here all day for this meeting and because of the persons, who are not even members of the board, others who are more committed to this foundation have to be kept waiting?." The ex, slams her hand on the long teak table, in the center of the room.

For a second, I felt intimidated, because Adian and I kept the board members back.

A middle aged gentleman, his dark hair slick back loosely and dark eyes matching his black suit, stood up, angry.

He addresses Mr. Knights, "with all due respect, Mr. Knights" the man started, looking at every board member as he spoke. "I did call ahead of the meeting to changed the time of the meeting. I personally called every member on my phone record and explained the situation to them and they all agreed to reschedule."

His lips curled in disgust, when his gaze falls on the ex, "I don't know who you are and the person you are representing were suppose to inform you that the meeting was rescheduled." He turned to Mr. Knights then back at the ex, "I owe you no explanation nor do I care to be associated with this foundation if this is the type of mannerless people the foundation entertains." He started organizing his notepad and personal effect before storming out of the room.

Adian, gave me a seat on the right of his father and went after the gentleman who glared angrily at the ex before leaving.

The board remained silent until Adian and the gentleman returned. The entire time they were outside, I kept my hands on my lap, conscious of the fact that I was commando at Knights Foundation, board meeting fighting the urge to look at the ex's expression.

Mentally patting my shoulder, because I did nothing bad, except have sex in my husband's private elevator. Which was really good!

Adian returned to the seat beside me, placing his hand on my bare thigh. "Happy thoughts?" he snickers.

Without thinking, I leaned across, "so you have more steam to get rid off on our way down from your office." I whispered softly to him.

Chuckling, "oh yeah,, I can't wait for this meeting to be over with" he laughs softly.

Turning my attention back to Ryan, "good to know," I muttered.

Before calling the meeting to order, Mr. Knights, casually mention the reason for the impromptu meeting. Ryan needed the board's approval to pass the mantel of CEO to his son and ask the board members to openly vote.

The ex interrupted him, "Mr. Knights" she raised her hand. Ryan with an annoyed expression, turned to her.

With a bright seductive smile, "is it customary to have non board members present for this delicate meeting.?" she asks and I gasp, because my husband chooses this moment to slide his hand up my leg, reaching inside my thighs, with a serious bland expression. His fingers start doing things that I never knew about to a part of my body that I'm now learning about.

Everyone turn to look at me, my cheeks reddening by the second. I saw Ryan glare at his son. Does he know?

Ignoring the newest board member, Mr. Knights, called the meeting to order, starting with condolences to Mr. Kurt, the gentleman for whom the meeting was reschedule because of the funeral of someone close to him.

OUCH!

My father-in-law introduced me to the board members, who all took a moment to congratulate us, as we kept thanking them.

With Adian, monopolizing my attention, the way he kept caressing my thighs, I fought to keep my attention on what Ryan was saying to the members.

Mr. Knights went on to explain, his reasons for reasons for stepping down as CEO, but not from the foundation.

Observing the fifteen men and women around the table, I'm under the impression that they, with the exception of me, everyone else knew what is going on.

Actually, this honestly isn't my place.

"Excuse me" I said softly, hoping I got Mr. Knights attention, knowing that I got my husband's attention, when his skillful fingers stopped playing with me.

Smiling at me, "Yes, Hailey" Mr. Knights nods for me to continue.

"Actually, Ms...." I stutter around the ex's name, "is right. I'm not a member of the board, so I should wait outside" I tried standing, but Adian hands on my thighs tightens, holding me down.

Mr. Knights looks lower down the table and nods before taking his seat.

I followed his gaze to see uncle Allan on his feet, his eyes on mines.

"LADIES, GENTLEMAN" he looked around the table acknowledging everyone with a kind smile.

"AS YOU ALL KNOW, I WAS GIVEN THE POWER OF ATTORNEY FOR DAVID, UH, THE LATE DAVID SULLIVAN" uncle Allan stutters. uncomfortably, before continuing. "UNTIL HIS DAUGHTER CAME OF AGE" he continues and with Adian's sudden intake of breath, this is also news to him.

"SHE TURNED TWENTY ONE A FEW WEEKS AGO AND ACCIDENTALLY MET OUR SOON TO BE CEO AT A COFFEE SHOP. AS WE ALL KNOW, WHENEVER YOUNG MR. KNIGHTS SET HIS MIND ON SOMETHING OR IN THIS CASE SOMEONE, HE GOES ALL OUT." uncle Allan chuckles.

"Uh, em," Adian interrupts uncle Allan with a mischievous smirk, "my heart" he corrected uncle Allan, placing his free hand on his chest. "I fell for this girl while she stood struggling with a red velvet cake in tow and that was the beginning of this" he lifts my wedding band for everyone to see, pressing his lips on mines.
