Chapter 22: Shunning Him

The sunset and the setting sun's afterglow shone into the ward.

Glory stood up and gently looked at the hospital bed.

The woman on the bed was pale as death. She huddled in the quilt and fell asleep again in the warm light of the setting sun. Astrid opened her eyes and murmured, Just as she was about to leave the ward, "I must pay my debt, Glory. I have nothing left except myself."

She closed her eyes again and fell asleep as soon as she finished speaking.

Needles pricked Glory's heart, and she felt various emotions simultaneously.

Astrid was in a lot of pain, but she was adamant about repaying her debt.

Glory couldn't believe such a person would do such a horrible thing.

If Astrid was lowly and mean, who in the world was noble and righteous?

Glory admired this silly girl's pride!

Glory used to cry bitterly when no one was around, and she even considered suicide, but Astrid, a silly girl, bore all of this without saying anything.
