A split second later, tapping can be heard from the taxi driver's window, and Astrid hears a cold and calm voice say, "Sir, please open your passenger door."

The tone was very formal, with no emotion, but the 'Please' was humorously emphasized... Marcus' subordinates had all taken lessons from him.

"Don't open the door!" Astrid yelled angrily at the driver. "I'll give you cash..."

Suddenly,

The driver's side window was shattered. This unexpected action startled both Astrid and the taxi driver.

"I... I'm going to call the cops! It's a lawless state."

A stack of brand new $100 bills was tossed onto his lap. "Now, can you open the door?" asked the bodyguard dressed in black.

"Oh, yes, yes!"

Not a problem! The money drew the driver over, and he replied and opened the door, "Hey, get off!"

The driver must have assumed that the crazy woman next to him had offended some important figure and that he didn't need to be nice to her.
