Not Ready to See Him

Tang Shi Yi felt as if time seemed to have stopped for her right at this moment.

She had seen Ye Heng a while ago and thought that he was leaving the hotel building. Tang Shi Yi did not expect that Ye Heng would return and appear in this ballroom.

Ye Group and A-Link were two different businesses. There should not be any intersection between them. Then, how could Ye Heng appear in this ballroom?

Tang Shi Yi's mind was filled with so many questions.

She did not realize how the smile on her face had become so stiff.

Meanwhile, Ye Heng's expression was not so different than Tang Shi Yi's. 

It has been a long time since the last time Ye Heng had seen Tang Shi Yi. However, he could still recognize her very well. After all, the two of them had spent a lot of time together in college.

The last time Ye Heng had seen Tang Shi Yi, was during their graduation night. He remembered wanting to talk to Tang Shi Yi a little more, but his friends were dragging him away, asking him to drink more.

The next morning, he woke up in the hotel room alone.

He had a feeling that he did meet Tang Shi Yi that night, but he was too drunk to remember anything. Ye Heng wanted to look for Tang Shi Yi and say a few words, but he had a plane to catch.

Initially, he planned to look for Tang Shi Yi after his younger sister's engagement party. However, when Ye Heng returned to Capital City, he found that Tang Shi Yi was no longer around.

He tried to reach for her number, but her phone seemed to be off.

Her roommate told him that she received an important call and was probably going back to her hometown.

Ye Heng thought that Tang Shi Yi would return to Capital City once she was done with her business in her hometown. After all, Tang Shi Yi had promised that she would follow him to Y City and work with him.

He waited for her for almost a month but had not heard anything from her again.

At this time, Ye Heng was regretting that he had never inquired much about Tang Shi Yi's hometown. However, by the time he managed to find out this information, Tang Shi Yi's family was no longer staying there.

Their neighbors told him that the Tang family had moved away after Father Tang passed away.

No one seemed to know where they were going.

He always felt as if something had happened between them, but Ye Heng could not figure out what it was. He could not understand why Tang Shi Yi disappeared when they both had made plans for their future.

Has he done something that makes her angry?

Ye Heng had tried to look for her again but was unsuccessful. 

It was as if she had disappeared. It felt as if Tang Shi Yi did not want to be found.

Time passed and he had slowly forgotten about her. But sometimes, whenever he ran into a troublesome matter at the company, Ye Heng would always remember Tang Shi Yi. 

He knew that if she was by his side, the problem he was facing at the company would be easily resolved. Tang Shi Yi was a smart girl and had a creative approach.

Ye Heng did not expect that he would see Tang Shi Yi at this event.

She had grown to be very beautiful,

Ye Heng had always known that Tang Shi Yi was very good at her work. It was not surprising to hear that she was now a partner of A-Link.

"Shi Yi, this is our business partner, Mr. Lin Mo," Quan Lian continued. "And this is Mr. Ye Heng from Ye Group." Quan Lian raised a brow when he noticed that there was something wrong with Tang Shi Yi's expression. He was about to ask her if something was wrong when he heard Ye Heng's voice.

"Tang Shi Yi. It has been a while." Ye Heng stretched his hand for a handshake. "I did not expect to meet you here."

Quan Lian alternated his gaze between Ye Heng and Tang Shi Yi. "You two know each other?"

Tang Shi Yi finally was able to compose herself. She looked at Quan Lian and forced a smile. "Mhm... we were classmates." She inhaled a deep breath before shaking her hand with Ye Yeng. "Hello. It has been a long time."

Tang Shi Yi felt a spark the moment her hand was touching Ye Heng's.

She quickly pulled her hand away and lowered her gaze before anyone would be able to notice the strange look on her face.

"I didn't expect that you would be in Y City," Ye Heng spoke. He had many questions he wanted to ask Tang Shi Yi.

For example, where she had disappeared and why didn't she contact him? Now that she was in Y City, why didn't she come and look for him?

"This is a surprise." Quan Lian smiled. "Shi Yi, you should have many things to catch up with your classmate."

"I want to catch up with Mr. Ye. Unfortunately, the timing is not appropriate." Tang Shi Yi flashed an apologetic smile to Ye Heng. Then, she leaned closer to Quan Lian and whispered. "Something came up. I need to go back and check on Chen Chen."

The look on Quan Lian's face changed. He knew well that Tang Shi Yi was worrying about her son. "Is everything alright? Should I go with you?"

"No. It's fine." Tang Shi Yi's heart was beating fast, knowing that Ye Heng had his eyes on her. "Yi Bo is still around. If there's anything, I can ask him for help."

"Alright then." Quan Lian nodded. "But Shi Yi, if there's anything, you have to tell me."

Tang Shi Yi smiled, knowing that she now had an excuse to leave. She turned to Ye Heng again and spoke, "Mr. Ye, Mr. Lin, I have to excuse myself now. I hope that you will enjoy your time at this banquet."

Without waiting for them to reply, Tang Shi Yi turned around to leave. 

At this time, all she wanted to do was to go farther away from Ye Heng. She was still not ready to see him.
