Chapter 21 : Cookout

“Okay, we’ve got everything we need and Maggie wasn’t working. I think that was a pretty successful shopping trip,” Kat says as we each grab as many bags as we can to bring into the house. “Although, I kind of wanted to see her, fight her. She can’t get away with being such a horrendous—”
“Kat!” I cut her off.
“What? She is.” Kat shrugs. We dump all of the bags onto the kitchen counter and quickly put everything away. “Okay, so how is our guest list coming along from your end?”
“Hm,” I say and pull out my phone to see that both Eric and Marcus have responded with enthusiasm to the invite. “Marcus and Eric are in. I told Logan about it earlier but I don’t know if he’ll show up. Not sure if our group is his speed.”
“Well, if he wants to be with you then he needs to put forth some effort to get to know your people,” Kat points out, tossing everything into the fridge without organizing anything.
