The Chu Family

Lu Chenjun glowered at Elena angrily, "Are you trying to poison me?"

Elena immediately shook her head and pouted, "I worked so hard to make today's food. How can you say that?"

Lu Chenjun eyed Elena suspiciously, "Whatever. I lost my appetite."

Elena loved seeing Lu Chenjun look so helpless and disgusted. This is called payback.

After packing up the containers, Elena looked around the room and located a couch.

"Do you mind if I sleep here for 30 minutes?"

"Go ahead."

Elena stood up, "Can you wake me up after 30 minutes?"

Lu Chenjun nodded and began working again.

Elena rolled into a ball on the couch and closed her eyes. She hadn't had a good night's sleep for a long time.

Elena felt something light fall over her body, and the temperature rose a few degrees. She opened her eyes and saw Lu Chenjun's face a few centimeters away from hers.

She looked down and watched as Lu Chenjun placed a blanket over her body. She immediately sat up and checked her watch.

"Lu Chenjun! It has already been an hour. Why didn't you wake me up?"

Lu Chenjun moved closer to her and said, "You look better when you are sleeping. I didn't want to wake you up."

Elena couldn't decide whether that was an insult or a compliment. Instead, she lifted the blanket off and jumped off the couch.

"Your couch is pretty comfortable."

Lu Chenjun raised one eyebrow and said, "You made the right decision to live with me. All of the furniture in my house is comfortable, especially my bed."

Elena whipped around, "What do you mean? I will have my own, separate room, right?"

Lu Chenjun stood up and frowned, "Yes."

"Good. I'm leaving. I wasted too much time here."

Elena grabbed her bag and walked towards the door. After she reached the bottom of the stairs, she saw Fang Shi waiting for her.

"You don't have to escort me. I could go myself."

Fang Shi shook his head and followed her to the elevator.

"Miss Jin Yinghui, my boss told me to register your fingerprint on the elevator today."

Elena raised her eyebrows, "My fingerprint?"

Fang Shi nodded, "Yes. This way you can come up to his office by yourself."

Fang Shi pushed on an area inside the elevator, which popped out. A screen appeared, and a lady's voice sounded, 'Please place your finger on the monitor.'

Elena reached out her thumb and placed it on the outline of a finger. After five seconds, the voice spoke again, 'Welcome Jin Yinghui. Your fingerprint is now registered.'

Elena widened his eyes, "How does she know I'm Jin Yinghui?"

"For security purposes, whenever anyone registers their fingerprint on this elevator, the machine will automatically connect the fingerprint to its owner. It will send a notice to me, so I would know who has their fingerprint registered on this elevator."

Elena didn't know that technology was this advanced, and watched as the screen disappeared and retreated back into the elevator wall.

The elevator reached the first floor, and Elena told Fang Shi that she could leave by herself. Fang Shi reminded her once again that he will be at her apartment tomorrow at 5 P.M. before she left.

"When did I have so much stuff?" Elena was packing her stuff, and her belongings no longer fit into one luggage anymore.

Mila came into her room with a bag of chips and sighed.

"What am I going to do with this room? The room is going to be so empty."

Elena looked up at Mila, "You will keep this room empty. Who knows when Lu Chenjun is going to kick me out? I need a place to live in."

Mila nodded unwillingly and sat down on Elena's bed. Elena immediately shooed her away, and complained, "I need to pack my blanket and pillows too. I can't fall asleep under his blanket."

"Then why did you even agree to live with him?"

Elena furrowed her eyebrows, and said jokingly, "Sure, I won't live with him. Then, do you have 10 million yuan to lend me?"

Mila cleared her throat before running away.

After a long hour, Elena finished packing all of her stuff. Mila had already gone to sleep by then. Elena looked around the apartment one last time, and also went to bed.

The next day, Elena spent the morning watching television with Mila. They went out to eat that day and even went shopping.

"Why don't I ask Lu Chenjun if you can move in too?"

Mila thought about this for a moment, "I'm good. I don't think I could survive living under the same rooftop as the CEO of the LIQuan Company."

Elena and Mila entered their room at 5:10 P.M. and found Fang Shi already waiting for them inside.

Elena could feel that something was wrong. She looked at Fang Shi, then at Mila.

Fang Shi ignored the presence of Mila, and said, "Hello Miss Jin Yinghui. I am here to pick you up."

Mila scoffed and marched into her room.

"Do you know Mila?"

Fang Shi nodded and whispered, "I wish I didn't."

Elena gulped once before entering her room to grab her luggage. She had two suitcases and a bag. Once she moved everything out, Fang Shi grabbed all of her stuff and walked out the door.

Elena quickly said goodbye to Mila before running after Fang Shi.

The car today was really huge, and fit all of Elena's stuff comfortably.

Fang Shi started the car, "Mr. Lu would have come today, but he has an important meeting right now."

Elena was glad that Lu Chenjun didn't come. Her plan was to quickly locate her room, unpack her stuff, and go to bed. This way, she wouldn't have to encounter Lu Chenjun.

After about 25 minutes of driving, they arrived in front of a huge gate. The security guard saw their car and quickly opened the gate.

Elena had seen this part of the Jin Province before but didn't pay much attention to it. Inside the gate was a huge water fountain. There was a loop with three different roads to choose from. Fang Shi took the one in the middle.

On both sides of the road, there were flowers and trees. The layout of the neighborhood was very extravagant and pretty.

"Where is this?" Elena asked.

"This is the Jinlu Complex. It is the most expensive neighborhood in all of China. There are three main houses in this complex. The one in the middle belongs to Mr. Lu. It is the biggest house here. The one to the left belongs to Mr. Lu's parents. However, they are currently on vacation in America, and probably won't be back anytime soon. The one on the right is currently empty. The Chu family used to live there. However, they left nine years ago for France."

Elena nodded, "The Chu family?"

Fang Shi squirmed in his seat and looked uncomfortable talking about this topic.

"Did Lu Chenjun build this neighborhood?"

Fang Shi nodded before saying, "We arrived."

Elena looked up and her mouth fell open. The house was gigantic. There were at least five floors, and the door at the front seemed to be made of gold. There was a huge garden in front of the house, and there was a water fountain in the middle.

Fang Shi had got out of the car already and was carrying the luggage out of the trunk.

Elena quickly unbuckled her seatbelt and opened the door. She followed Fang Shi to the garden, where several flowers were planted.

"So this is where Lu Chenjun lives."

Fang Shi turned around to look at Elena and followed her gaze to the huge mansion.

"Oh, no. Miss Jin Yinghui, you got it wrong. That isn't where Mr. Lu lives."

Elena furrowed her eyebrows, and watched as Fang Shi pointed to a smaller house to the right of the mansion, "That is where he lives."
