LOVE IN HATE IN LOVE

“I only want you, Maximus. I already told my parents that I love you and I'm going to marry you. No one else.” Aurora indignantly exclaimed. Max was shaking his head from what he heard. “No. No. You’re not being fair, Aurora.” He felt himself losing his strength as well as any chance to change her mind. Max leaned his body at the back of the single chair, almost sitting on it. He tugged on his necktie, needing some more air. His gaze fell on the ground. He’s powerless against his father. He won’t be able to protect his girlfriend from his family. He didn’t notice that Aurora was already in front of him. He just felt her palm on his cheeks, caressing it gently. He looked up to her. “You’re not fair.” He mumbled weakly. Like a defeated child. She’s rubbing her thumb against his cheeks. “The world’s not fair, Max.” Shaking her head. “It’s never fair.” She commented breathlessly. “You get everything you want.” He ignored her actions. He’d gone numb all over. This girl was too much of everything. Too selfish to even understand how he felt. “No. I don’t have your heart.” Max swatted her hand away and stood up straight. He chuckled at her response and halted. He shook his head as he looked at her straight in the eyes. “You won’t. You don’t even have one.” ************** Aurora Fontalva got everything except the heart of a certain man. She only wants Max. But how can she make him fall for her when he already had someone? He loves his girlfriend. Maximus D’Arco can’t escape his family’s wish for him to marry the only Fontalva heiress. Worse, Aurora even blackmailed him, or his girlfriend would suffer. CHAPTER 2

CHAPTER 2

"Signorina, nasan ka? Teka lang ah. Nagpapatulong pa ko sa mga dala kong gamit. Anong sasakyan po pala dala mo? Baka hindi magkasya to." 'Signorina, where are you? Wait a minute. I have someone helping me in my things. What car were you driving? My things might not fit in your car.' Ade's lengthy greeting when she answered her call.

Ade was pure Italian, but she was fluent in Tagalog. If it's only her voice, anyone would think she's a Filipino. She learned it from Aurora's family. She often visits in their mansion and she was willing to know the language. She was speaking of it more now than her native tongue.

"Let me see for myself. I'm here in the lounge area." She stated.

"Okay. I can see where you are. I'm hanging up." Her voice sounded thrilled and Ade ended the call. "Signorina!"

Aurora snapped her head to the far right, where she heard Ade's voice. Some people were looking at them as her friend was running towards her.

A smile broke in her lips until her friend was in front of her and Ade instantly pulled her in a tight hug. She hasn't even lifted her arm to hug her also but Ade already pulled herself from her. Ade turned around to the porter who were pushing her things in a trolley. She was thinking if they would fit in her car. Five medium boxes and two standard size luggage.

Ade turned to her with a worried expression on her face. "I don't know what car you brought, but I hope it had enough space for those. If not, I could just take a cab. And based from your expression, you're not driving a normal car." She stated tauntingly.

That made her laugh. "What's your definition of a normal car?" She asked back.

"That's comfortable to drive and the backseat wouldn't just be for decoration, and can hide two corpses in the trunk." Ade's instant reply.

She couldn't hold back the laughter on her reply. "I don't have to put dead buddies in the trunk. I can just have them as my backseat passengers. They wouldn't complain with the cramped space anyway." She raised her eyebrows and smirked at her friend. She's waiting for her to dare say anything.

Ade's jaw fell in Aurora's words. The horror in Ade's eyes were just too cute to resist another chuckle from her.

The porter was staring at them weirdly while waiting at the side to where they want the things delivered to.

"Anyway." Aurora scanned the things again. She was calculating the spaces in her car on her mind. "I think those are enough to fill the trunk and the backseat. Let's go."

Ade sighed in relief. "Thank, God." She turned to the guy. "Seguici, per favore." Follow us, please. She said to the porter and he nodded, following them outside.

When they were almost at Aurora's car, she pressed the keys.

"Oh." Ade's eyes widened in amazement. She was skipping to the car and roamed her eyes to its body entirely.

"Per favore, metti le scatole sul sedile posteriore e I bagagli nel bagagliaio. Posiziona prima le scatole. Poi chiuderò la parte superiore in modo che ci sia più spazio sul retro." 'Please put the boxes at the backseat and the luggage in the trunk. Place the boxes first. Then I'll close the top so that there would be bigger space at the back.' Aurora told the porter because Ade was still busy marveling the car.

The porter nodded and he too was staring at the car with awe while he was given instructions.

Aurora watched the porter as he transferred Ade's things.

She folded her arms and waited for her friend to calm down from the excitement. After a few a minutes, Ade noticed her again and stepped beside her.

"Did I already tell you that I was never wrong to befriend you?" There was a grin on her face.

She raised an eyebrow at her. "If you're being fake with me, I don't mind. I can just flick you with my fingers."

Ade scoffed and glared at her. "That's too harsh." Then she bumped her arm lightly. A smile was back on her face. "Signor Adolfo's gift?"

"Si." It was a gift from her father.

Ade knew everything about her. When she moved to Italy, she met her then. Aside from she's Fabio's niece, she's also the daughter of their mansion's butler and her mother was their chef. They've been friends for years but Ade also considered her as her boss, so she respects her at times.

She's happy that they were going in the same school. They always banter but she often taunts her. She liked Ade's personality because despite that her family works for them, she still treats her as an equal friend and she wasn't faking it. Aside from that, Ade was so cute to tease, her expressions were too easy to read. And she always pouts whenever she teased her.

Aurora pressed the remote for the car's roof to settle. Not minding that some people were watching them in awe.

"Ay, I wanna ride with the roof off." Ade commented in disappointment.

"Next time. We need to pull out the roof so there's enough space for your luggages in the trunk. Unless you want to leave one of the luggage." She glanced to her and waited for her cute reaction.

"No." She disapprovingly expressed. Her eyebrows were forming a single line. "There's a lot of next time."

Then she pressed another button to open the trunk. She took out some bills in her pocket to give them to the guy. "Get in. We'll have snacks after this." She said to Ade.

"Okay. I'm hungry." She quickly went to the passenger seat and get herself in. Her excitement wasn't that obvious. She shook her head in her friend's joyous reaction.

She closed the trunk when the porter stood straight and finished the job. "Thank you." She handed him a tip. A very generous tip that made the guy's jaw slacked open. Then he gave her a wide grin.

"Grazie, signorina. Grazie mille." Thank you, signorina. Thank you very much.' He reached two hands for the money and he was still nodding nonstop. He was in shock while he looked at her walking away. She nodded at him before she entered the car.

"Seatbelt." She said instantly when she saw that Ade was taking pictures while doing funny poses on her seat.

She wore her own seatbelt and put down the shades on her eyes. Ade finally fixed her seatbelt too.

"Where would we eat?" Ade asked after scrolling her phone.

Aurora started the car and pressed the monitor for GPS. "Here, I want to try their food."

Ade looked at the screen. "Oh, that's famous. I also searched about this city."

"Hmm." Aurora's attention was focused on the highway.

"Why did boss choose UNIBO for you? You wanted to go to the U.S., right?" Ade started a conversation. She glanced at her but Ade was looking at the window.

"I don't know. They just surprised me last week that they enrolled me in UNIBO." Short of University of Bologna. She sighed when she remembered how disappointed she was when her parents made the final decision. She already enrolled in U.S. but her parents cancelled her papers for registration. "But it's fine. I'm still in the same course." It was a good thing that she had her sunglasses on so that Ade wouldn't see her grim expression.

Even if Aurora put on a smug face, Ade knew that her friend was saddened by the turn of events. "That's okay. I'm here. Because I wouldn't be able to follow you in the U.S." She said just to make her friend smile and somehow lift her mood.

She noticed Ade was looking at her. She scoffed. "I'm not sure about that. I think papa would make you stick with me wherever I go."

Ade chuckled at that because she knew that wasn't impossible. Like now. And she didn't say anything else. She treated Aurora as her friend even if she's the daughter of her bosses. Because she wasn't like most of the other rich kids. She's not judgemental and doesn't look down on others in a nonsense manner. Even if they were not in the same status, she wasn't ashamed that she had a boss like her. And she was ready to be her slave and protect Aurora in her own way. She's proud that she had a friend and a boss like her.

After a few minutes, Aurora parked the car in the shop's parking space. There seems to be a lot of people inside.

Ade sauntered the entrance first. She knew what she was about to do. Even if she already told her, Ade wouldn't listen. She always opens the door for her. So, most people thought that she was her maid or something. Even in some things, she would assist her. She stopped reprimanding her then since she won't stop. She would just let Ade do whatever she wants then.

When she entered, Ade followed behind her and quickly looked for a vacant table. She was the one following Ade now. People glanced their way. Most were in the same age as them. She bet they were also university students. The shop was near from the university and the dorm that they would be staying.

She scanned the place while walking slowly. The delicious atmosphere of food made her hungrier. The place was huge inside and spacious. The group tables were against the glass walls.

"Signorina!" Ade called from far ahead. A few tables before her. There were more eyes at them and were following her every move as she walked closer to Ade. She shook her head. Ade always make her feel almighty. It seemed like she was boasting her around.

When she reached Ade, her eyes noticed someone familiar at 2 o'clock position where they were standing. They were just a few distance between them. She met that person's eyes. She wasn't sure if he recognized her because she was still wearing her sunglasses. She stared at him shortly as her breath hitched. She did not expect to see him so soon. A smile wanted to crept up in her lips but she restrained herself.

Ade noticed that her friend stopped in front of her and she followed where she was looking. Her forehead knotted then her eyes widen when she recognized who the person was. When she looked at Aurora, she was already sitting. She sat across her then.

"Why is he here, signorina?" Ade directly asked, curiosity was obvious on her face.

"He's studying here as well. Mamma mentioned it." She put the shades on her head.

Ade looked at the guy again. He also glanced their way. She waved at him and he nodded.

Aurora did not mind what Ade was doing. A waiter came and gave them their menus. Before Ade opened it, she leaned her face closer on the table. "Signorina, just to confirm, this is your treat, right?"

Even if Aurora was focused on reading her menu, a smile tugged on her lips. "Everything, Adelina. Just order anything you want." She answered without taking her eyes off the menu.

"Yey. Thank you!" Ade exclaimed like a child and opened her own copy.

After a few moments, they stated what they wanted to eat. They order light food for they would be having dinner in the evening. They decided to order take-out food for later.

"Isn't he too handsome?" Ade said like she was in a trance while looking at the guy that they recognized earlier.

Yes, he is. Aurora knew who she was talking to even if she won't look at him.

"But his brother was so much more handsome." Ade added.

Aurora did not pay attention to what Ade was saying. She was busy texting her mom.

"I think he's coming this way." Ade stated and Aurora looked up from her phone. He was strutting towards them and the friends he left from his table followed him by gaze.
