Past: Saviors

Alexander's POV

I feel a burning pain in my body as if I am moving it in 2 directions at the same time.

Then suddenly a flow of energy hits me, which feels like lighting up my inner soul.

And the pain washes away leaving a blissful sweetness. Tiredness takes again and I faintly hear someone whispering in my ear

"Sleep handsome. I'll take care of you."

And I do feel bliss for the first time in my life.

I feel my consciousness returning. Eyelids feel like heavy scraps of metal. I peel them with many difficulties and see light coming in through the familiar windows. It's my home. I feel a little weight on my left arm. I turn and see a lady as beautiful as snow lying down beside me.

Her hair is dark brown in so much volume that it looks like waves down to her small waist. Some of her hair has fallen on her face. I remove it gently without disturbing her sleep because she looks tired. A sudden and strange feeling of protectiveness washes over me. She is beautiful. Beyond beautiful if I may say. Just like a queen. Her eyelids flutter and her eyes snap open. Sun-kissed golden eyes met me and I verify that I was right. She is like a queen. A queen is meant to rule. If seen closely she is scary and warm, both at the same time. Particularly depending on the person in front of her.

I realize that I am staring at her for too long because she blushes and pink spreads on her cheeks.

" Uhm.....are you okay? " Even her voice sounds like molten gold. Silky and beautiful.

"Yeah, I don't feel pain any-" I look down to see the wound and see nothing. Plain. Vanished as if it never even happened. If not for a faint scar, only visible when liked too closely, I would never believe that it happened.

As if finally common sense kicked in I ask

"Where did the wound go? I mean I know it happened, then how did it vanish?"

"Well, that's because I healed you with my herbs. They heal very well so that why only a very faint scar is remaining"

"And how did you know my house?"

"I used my powers for that. I can read memories so that's why I found it."

I was about to ask something else when a loud bang on the door comes. I hear Edward and Harold curse. I glance at the lady beside me and see her eyes narrowed at me.

"Are they the people that are messing with you? " I don't know if it's her eyes or something else but I feel a little fear for the people who hurt me.

"No! They're my friends. "

"Okay. I'll let them in then. You wait here. And don't move. " I nod.

I hear voices coming from the hall room and then Edward and Harold come into the bedroom.

"What the hell happened?!"

"It's that piece of shit, isn't it. That idiot is going to die in my hands. "They both say but I glance at the lady watching us from the doorway, leaning on the door.

As if on cue, Edward and Harold turn toward her and ask,

"Who are you?" Edward asks but Harold tries to flirt.

"Oh, my beauty. You are so beautiful. Will you give me a chance to repay you for saving our lord here?" He gives his usual charming smile, which he gives to girls always. But the lady here just stares at him, ignores him, and looks right at me.

"My name is Thea. And that repayment should be done by you. Right?"

"Yes of course I can pay for your herbs and medical treatment but I don't have much right now so if you want-"

She cuts me off and says, "I don't want money. I am a..... traveler here. I need a place to stay and work so if you can help me with that. "

Before I speak Harold answers her, "I can help with that. I know a lot around here you know. " He again tries his charming smile. For some reason, I feel anger when he sees her like this.

"No. Thank you. But I ONLY need him. And just so you know, I like men like him." She nods at me. The anger subsides at her words and a warm feeling appears in my chest and cheeks. Dammit, now I am blushing like a girl.

"I work at the diner in the town. And during lunch can show you around. And till then you can stay here." She stares at me thoughtfully and then says.

"Do you live alone here?"

"Yes"

"If it's not too much to ask, can I stay here while working? I can cook very well."

The thought of living with her is.....so heavenly. The look on her face says she wants me to say yes. As if I can say no to this queen.

"Of course. If you don't mind the shabby house."

"Ohh. Don't worry. I clean well" she smirks.

Edward and Harold just see the exchange with wide eyes. They know I don't like talking to people much and with her staying in my home is a bit more strange but they don't know that even if I wanted I won't be able to deny her anything. I know it sounds strange but in the few moments, our eyes met I felt safe and at home for the first time in my life. So yeah, forgive me if I want to soak that feeling more before it is taken from me, again.
