Chapter Six: The demon princess outburst at Laurel's birthday party

After the crowned prince left, the remaining demon royals all turn towards Laurel waiting for an explanation.

"Why are you fighting that worthless princess for a human?" Lyra spoke seeing that Laurel wasn't just going to talk willing.

"I'm not fighting Nikki for any human", she defended.

"So, are you trying to say the crowned prince was mistaken?" the boy with light blue hair asked.

"I'm sorry I almost got you all killed but I refuse to answer any more of your questions".

"Once we get back to the demon world, we'll settle this. Right now, we need to fix this mess", the boy with dark blue hair said as they turn towards Nikki. The whole room was already filled with the red aura coming out from her.

"She has already broken his time freeze".

"She's truly impressive".

"Let's get out of here. Laurel take care of this mess", the boy with light blue said as there was a bright flash.

In the room everyone is seen talking and drinking. Nikki is seen talking to Amber while Alan is drinking a can of beer at one side of the hall. The demon royals took time back to before Laurel made a scene. Everything and everyone went back to normal except from Nikki. She was seeing images of what happened, but she couldn't understand what was going on. The images started coming in a flash. It started to mess with her head and the red aura of before starts to come out of her body.

Amber notices the red aura coming out of her and wonders what was going on. Laurel from a corner also notices the red aura coming out of Nikki. She starts to panic. What was she going to do if Nikki went out of control again? She was the only one here and she could die if Nikki unleashed that crazy power from earlier. She stares at Alan hoping he could have noticed something strange with Nikki and help, but he kept on with his drinking not even paying attention to Nikki.

Nikki was already starting to lose her mind. So many images came flashing and each one had a mental effect on her. The aura started pouring out so much that Amber had to move away.

"Nikki what's going on with you?" Amber asked keeping a distance from her.

The aura fully surrounded Nikki's body and her eyes glow red. "Where is Lucian?" she asked.

 "Lucian?"

"Tell me where he is!" Nikki yelled causing everyone to turn their attention towards her.

"Nikki, snap out of it. Humans are around", Amber warned.

"Bring me Lucian or no one leaves this place alive", Nikki threatened as the red aura around her starts to form a big cobra behind her.

Upon seeing this, the people in the room start to scream and move away from Nikki till they get toward the window.

Laurel rushes over to meet Amber and asks what was going on although she already had an idea.

"I thought you said Nikki was dormant. How does she have powers?" Laurel questioned.

"I'm as confused as you are Laurel", Amber replied.

The cobra forming from the aura had already taken it full shape and look. It has a colour blend of purple and blue scales with two sharp terrifying fangs. The cobra started to head towards the people in the room.

"Isn't that Keruvim? How is she able to summon Keruvim?" Laurel asked terrified by the cobra coming at them.

"How the hell did Nikki summon Keruvim?" Amber said as she fell to her knees. This was starting to look more like a dream to her. How did her best friend who had been power dormant for seventeen years suddenly awaken her powers and had the ability to summon Keruvim, the pet of the King of Hell, the devil himself? According to what she knew only four people can summon this beast. The King and crowned prince of the Serpentines and the King and crowned prince of Hell. Nikki was neither one of them so how did she manage to summon it and why did it answer her summon.

"How did she manage to summon it in this form?" Laurel asked as she turns towards Amber.

Amber was confused as to what Laurel was talking about and she decided to look at the cobra. That was when she understood what Laurel was talking about. She had been too worried to realise that the cobra was in its original form. Normally the cobra has seven different appearances depending on who summoned it and why it was summoned. The appearance of the cobra right now was its real form which meant someone particularly important had summoned it.

The cobra drew closer to them as Amber was lost in her thoughts while Laurel awaited her death. There was nothing either of them could do. No one can face Keruvim except from the devil and the crowned prince and neither of them were here. If the demon royals of the upper chamber of Hell were here, they could have been able to handle it, but they had already left thanks to her foolishness. All she could do now was accept her fate. Maybe Nikki was meant to be the end of her.

While all these were happening and everyone was panicking and screaming in fear, only one person had not moved. It was none other than Alan Mendes. Alan had been sitting at the corner all these while drinking the can of beer in his hand not even flitching at the sight of the cobra. The whole drama happening did not seem to matter to him. All he wanted was to leave the party, but he could not leave now with Nikki throwing a tantrum over some guy named Lucian. If she already had someone she cared about, why did she have to trouble him with going. He then realises that he was the one who willingly made the offer so he should not complain about it. Anyways he needed to go home, and he could not do that without putting an end to this madness first. He drops the can of beer on the ground and gets up. He walks towards the cobra that was already in front of the people.

Everyone starts to stare at Alan as they wonder what he was doing. When they saw him approaching the cobra, they all thought he had lost it.

"Is he crazy or something?"

"I think he's tired of living".

"Do you think the cobra would leave us after eating him?"

"I hope so. If it means sacrificing him ensures our safety, let us make sure the cobra eats him".

Amber and Laurel snapped out of their on hearing the comments of the humans. They look towards the cobra and see Alan approaching it.

"Has he gone mad? Why is he approaching it?" Amber snapped.

"Alan please get away from it!" Laurel screamed but her words didn't reach out to him.

Alan stands in front of the cobra and smiles at it. "In case you understand me, tell Nikki I want to speak to her", he said as everyone stares at him.

"I need to save him", Laurel said as she moves forward but a hand drags her back.

"You're a crowned princess. I can't let you die because you were trying to save a human under my watch", Amber said as she pulls Laurel.

"He's going to die if I don't help him".

"He chose to go there himself so let him handle it alone", Amber said.

The cobra bend towards Alan till he reached his face. It brings out it's fangs and hisses. It then moves back and heads with full speed towards Alan to strike.

"No!!" Laurel screamed.

The cobra stops midway in the air and then stays still in front of Alan.

"I knew you wouldn't be able to hurt me", Alan smiled at the cobra as he walks towards Nikki.

"Why did it not attack him?"

"Is it going to attack us?"

Laurel and Amber were both dumbfounded by the turn of events. Why did Keruvim not attack Alan? Nothing seemed to be making sense at all today.

"Hey Nikki, what's with all high and mighty act. Put an end to this already. I want to go home", Alan said as he walks towards Nikki.

"Is he crazy or something? He risked his life just because he wanted to go home".

"Come back to your senses Nikki. You're hurting everyone around you. You almost killed Amber", Alan said as Nikki aims a punch at him, but her hand stops midway. "I told you before. You can't hurt me", he added as he hugs her.

"What's going on?"

"I'm sorry it took so long to come get you. I'm here now so please come back to me", Alan said.

"Alan?" Nikki called out as her eyes turned back to normal and the aura around her vanishes. Keruvim also vanishes.

"It's good to have you back", he said as she becomes unconscious.

"Nikki", Amber called as she runs towards Alan, but she drops to the ground and becomes unconscious.

The people in the room all drop to the ground and fell unconscious. The only one left conscious was Laurel.

"What's going on Alan?" Laurel inquired.

"I trust you can clean up the mess you made", Alan said as he turns his gaze towards her.

"Do you really care about her?"

"You're really lucky that I was here. I have no idea what would have happened to you if I wasn't here".

"Alan I'm really sorry".

"Take care of things here while I handle Nikki okay", Alan said as he carries Nikki in his arms.

"Should I take care of Amber as well?"

"Just cut out the part that could put her in trouble. I'll see you another time", Alan said as he walks away with Nikki in his arms.

"I'm going to be in so much trouble when the King finds out about this", Laurel thought as she stares at the bodies all over the floor.
