Wen Xi thought about those words, her eyes lowering. It was kinda funny.
Her taste in men had always been horrible, and she didn't dare to get with another man now. Who knew what kind of hell that would turn out to be?
She only smiled a soft smile in reply, pulling her shirt back up without saying anything.
He Yan gave the medicine box to her, speaking in a kind tone. "Give this to your grandma. Look at the instructions."
"Okay." She said as she took the medicine box, looking around. "I'll go over first then. Thanks for today."
After a while, she looked at him. "The consultation fee..."
"No need to think about it." He interrupted.
He leaned back on the sofa,
Wen Xi spoke up. "This is like the third or fourth time you've helped me. If this continues I'll feel worse."
"It's not like I helped you for nothing, didn't I get two presents?" With that, he looked at the black phone on the table.
Wen Xi looked at it, it was the one she'd bought.
She remembered the underwear she bought.
Was He Yan wearing it?
Worried he'd mention it, Wen Xi quickly got up with the medicine box. "I'll go first. If you need my help in the future, Doctor He, do ask."
"Don't worry, we still have a long way to go."
Wen Xi looked at him, not saying anything.
Both men had used that sentence today, and both had completely opposite feelings.
Yunchuan's made her afraid, and He Yan's made her feel safe.
He Yan got up as well. "Let's go, I'll walk you."
Wen Xi blinked. "It's just a couple of steps."
He Yan ignored that, he put his hands in his pocket and walked over with his long strides. "It's an after-meal walk."
By that point, there wasn't much she could do to reject him. She walked silently behind him, not putting any less distance between them.
He Yan looked back at her. "You like to walk behind me that much?"
Wen Xi didn't dare say it was because of his pressuring aura that made her feel strange. "Yeah, you're tall, it's safer to hide behind you."
The man paused and suddenly laughed.
Even when his back was against the light, the darkness couldn't completely cover his smile.
Rather, in Wen Xi's eyes, that smile was as brilliant as day, brighter than the stars.
She looked at him dumbly for a couple of seconds, and by the time she'd reacted he'd already stopped smiling, only looking at her zoned out.
She blinked, and quickly walked past him, covering the red on her face.
"Wrong way again." He reminded.
Wen Xi looked down. She was making the same mistake again.
Biting her lip, she turned back around.
The "again" meant that he still remembered the last time she made a wrong turn at his house.
Something small like this, and he still remembered it?
He Yan walked her to the front gate, watching her enter without leaving.
A while later, he took his phone out and typed a couple of words.
August 28th, marriage canceled. Came true.
Just above this line of words, there were other dates all recording events that had happened.
