The Night of Tragedy (2)

After few hours, everything slowed down. A strange silence took over the place. An entity was walking upstairs towards Amelia's room. Loud footsteps "thump.... Thump... Thud...." Approached her room. Amelia could hear it and she could tell it is not her mom. The door opened making, "click" sound. The five year old's heart started beating wildly. She could hear her heartbeat. It was all so silent that she could hear herself breathing. The footsteps made their way to Amelia's cupboard as if it knew Amelia is in there. Her breath got stuck in her throat. She was shivering. 

" Where are you kiddo ? " that entity questioned. His voice was deep and had a threatening element in it. Even if he was questioning, it felt like a threat. Listening his voice, Amelia gasped. That entity smiled.

" so you're in there huh " that entity said in husky voice. A shiver went down Amelia's body. He opened the door of cupboard with a creepy smile. It opened with a "creaaakkkkk....." Sound. Infront of Amelia stood a man who was at least 204 cm tall. He had broad shoulders, blood all over his clothes. He looked at her with his brown eyes and smiled at her creepily. Amelia looked at him in terror. 

" what happened ... Ohhh.... this blood.... Don't worry it is not mine." He said. 

He searched for something in his pocket and brought out a knife. Amelia gulped as she saw that knife. She wanted to scream for help but couldn't. She wanted to run but couldn't. Her body froze. 

"so... You ready to die little kitty". That man smirked as he brought the knife closer to her but another man broke into the room and pushed him away before any harm could be done to her. 

Surprisingly the man who broke into the room was quite strong. He threw that creepy man away and reached to Amelia. As soon as Amelia saw him she broke into tears and hugged him tightly. 

"Dad.." She said in broken voice. That man sighed seeing his daughter safe. He hugged her back and whispered," Don't worry. Papa is here now." This moment couldn't last longer as that attacker got back on his foot. He attacked her father from back and made his way towards Amelia. Her father growled in pain but he grabbed the attacker's foot.

Amelia was standing there, seeing her father in dying state, she couldn't Help but cry out loud," papa..." . 

Her father shouted, "DON'T YOU DARE TOUCH MY DAUGHTER". That attacker kicked her father on stomach and punched him on face. The blood gushed out of his mouth but he grabbed the attacker's hand and stabbed him with his own knife. The blood squirted. He stabbed him again and again. He stabbed him till he was dead. After making sure he was dead, he took Amelia in his embrace, picked her up and Jumped out of the window. He was so much in pain. He was injured, bleeding boundlessly.

" PAPA... " Amelia cried out as she touched his face. 

" Don't worry dear.. I am fine." He said while running and tightening his grip on Amelia. The man was half dead. He was panting, barely away from losing his conscious. The only thing that kept him going was his strong will to protect his daughter. He had lost everything. His wife, his unborn child were already dead. To make it worse they died in front of him. They were not dead more accurately they were killed. Thinking how they were killed in front of him and he couldn't do anything, thinking of her beloved wife's face the tears started falling down. He was running, running away to protect his daughter. He only had his daughter left and he did not want anything to happen to her.

He wanted to protect her even if it costs him his life. He kept on taking large steps. The night was very dark. It was a no moon night. Trying to escape they entered in a forest. A forest full of large trees, which were making darkness even more immense. As they were passing the jungle, they heard the howls of wolfs, the sound of animals running around the field.

He continued running, looking at his surrounding. Amelia's grip tightened on his shirt. Two wolfs came out of bushes and started following them. The man was running at his best speed, keeping his pain aside. He knew he could not out run them and had to fight with them. So he put Amelia down and asked her to Run. 

"Amelia.. Run.. Run from here" 

"papa.. " 

"Baby please runn.. You must live.. Please runn my daughter.. Run away from here." He said as he pushed her to run away. 

The wolf's started closing in. Amelia obeyed her father and ran away. The dark clouds started covering the sky like a blanket and it started pouring. Amelia tried looking back but she could not find her father there. She ran as far and as fast as her tiny body could. The raindrops were mixing with her tears. She couldn't Understand just why this all was happening to them. There entire town was burned down into ashes. Her family, neighbours, friends, were slaughtered. 

She was almost at the exit of forest. She was trying her best to keep her eyes open. She did not know where she was running off to. but soon She could see the lights dazzling from far away. She kept on walking but suddenly her head started to get heavy. she was getting dizzy. she was trying to push herself. Her father's words were circulating in her tiny head. " I ... I must live for... pa...papa".

Her eyes were barely open. The rain was making it even more difficult. she had taken a few steps ahead and she stumbled and fall down. she scraped her arm and knee. she extended her hand in hope to catch the light but she blacked out. 

"pa...papa.."
