Chapter :-36 Massacre (Part-6)

Clank...Clank...Clank...!!!

A young soldier, the [Dusk-armor] protecting his vitals and body from any potential danger rushed towards Roland.

His hand held his [Flintlock] tightly, like losing it would be equivalent to losing his life.

The armor of a mixture of golden and black color, it looked beautiful and was unusually durable. The combination of large-shields and [Flintlock] gave an intimidating effect to the army which Roland and Kite managed to form.

Panic...was evident of the face of the young soldier, sweat dripped from his helmet while his hands we're already soaked in sweat.

Clank...!!!

He knelt down on one knee and spoke in a worried tone while his head remained bowed towards Roland. His voice was quite shaken along with the fearful expression on his face.

"H-His Highness, P-Please return to the castle, we have spotted a huge hybrid heading towards us. We are open firing at it but its shell is too hard to break. S-Staying here would be endangering your life."

Roland looked at the young soldier and grimaced, he walked towards the wall to see the incoming danger himself. His clothes swayed in the air along with hair while he reached the wall.

Seeing His Highness moving towards the wall, he panicked as he remembered his orders about making sure that His Highness is safe.

"H-His Highness, please stop...!!!" he marched behind Roland and tried to persuade him to leave the area and return to the castle, where he would be safe from any harm.

"What's your name soldier.....????" asked Roland without looking back and he approached the wall.

"Gilles, Maricue Gilles...!!!" replied the young soldier in a respectful yet confused tone, the confusion about why he was being asked this question and why at this particular time.

Roland nodded before continuing in a calm tone "Tell me..., as the future ruler do you expect me to sit safely in my castle while my soldier fights for life and death."

"Uhmm.....????" before he could say anything Roland continued while stepping over the stairs used to reach the watch-posts embedded on the corners of the wall.

"No...as a ruler, I will be there when my soldiers need me. Farmers are the reason why we can live without having to worry about starving but soldiers are the reason why we still exist in the first place," he said as he explained his reasons.

"H-His Highness.....please return it is too dangerous at the current time," said IronAxe as he bowed to show his respect towards the true leader of the army.

"Where is the enemy.....????" Roland ignored the part where IronAxe tried to suggest Roland, return to the castle.

"That huge turtle-like hybrid is heading towards the 2nd sector of the wall. Our weapons are useless against him since the bullet can't penetrate its defense. Also due to being on the higher ground, we are not able to effectively attack its legs and joints." reported Iron Axe.

"Hmmm.....let him crash the wall, just make sure that the other beasts are killed. Surround the hybrid in a circle formation and take him out by the explosives," said Roland while Iron Axe nodded since he knew that this should be the most appropriate thing to do.

Roland exited the Watch-post and backed away quite a bit while a squad of 5-senior soldiers stood in front of his in a formation they made after combining their large-shields to form a wall-like structure.

'You sure that it would be safe to stay in this place, you will be much safer in your castle.' Nightingale whispered while the voice traveled only inside Roland's ears.

'I need to stay here, my soldiers need me....' Nightingale knew that what Roland said was the truth but her institution also told her that this wasn't the only reason.

He was here for something different, something big, something which would change many lives forever.

Nightingale was correct as it was true that Roland wasn't there only for the soldiers, no....instead he was here so that he would use this opportunity to digest his [Clown-potion] which required acting.

And this situation was the ideal one for him, not only while his powers increase but his respect and his prestige will also increase in the hearts of the people in the town. Killing two birds with a single stone.

Bang...!!! Bang...!!! Bang...!!!

A Loud sound, irritating to the ear echoed throughout the place, the noise kept on increasing but so did the noise of bullets.

Crack...!!! Crack...!!! Crack...!!!

Multiple cracks appeared on the surface of the wall which broke after the 5th noise revealing a huge monster with the green-colored shell on it's back.

The monster roared and begun moving towards the army which was already prepared. Using two soldiers as bait, they lead in a tad bit inside the town which the other soldiers quickly surrounded him.

But before they could begin, a loud roar caused them to turn around and see, that so many beasts rushed towards the town with the opening in the wall.

The beast attacks the soldiers, who tried to kill faster and proceed with their plan to protect Roland.

"Damn it, why are there so many....!!! " cursed Iron Axe before walking towards the battlefield. His goal very simple 'To protect Roland from any harm.'

Some of the beasts rushed towards Roland as he watched the soldiers taking down most of the beasts but some still escaped from their clutches and headed towards Roland.
