Chapter:-17 Betrayal (Part-3)

[We went down into the silent garden. Dawn is the time when nothing breathes, the hour of silence. Everything is transfixed, only the light moves.]

Roland was sitting on a seat on his comfortable chair, his hands held a red-covered diary and a quill. Roland flips open the empty diary and tears a page from it. His hand once again flew across the piece of paper.

The candles flickered from time to time, the cold wind and silence created a suffocating atmosphere. He took out a pocket watch from his drawer.

The watch was golden coloured ,also was pretty old as the the symbol of [Tarot cards] were little disfigured but the strange aura around the watch gave it any intense feeling.

He held it in front of him as it hanged from his fingers. His eyes darted towards Azik, he nodded towards the cold-corpse collector.

Azik closed his eyes and concentrated the spiritual power at the tip of his spear. A spiritual barrier blocked everyone inside the room.

Roland looked towards the slightly nervous Tyre and asked her a question, his hands didn't stop for a single second.

"Tyre Madera, age 23, joined the royal palace after being recruited as a maid. My first question for you is 'When did you learn to read and write ?????'. As according to this report your family was very poor, they couldn't afford to send you to school. After you joined as a maid, you wouldn't have time to learn it."

Tyre ,she was slightly stunned by the amount of information His Highness, Roland had on her. Even though the documents were fake ,they were given to her by Garcia ,Her Highness.

Since her family was under Garcia's grasp, she was forced to work as an assassin and be tasked with killing the fourth prince, though she had to accept that she miserably failed in completing her job.

She didn't lose her composer and answered calmly ,saying "His Highness, this lowly one would learn to read and write from the older maids at night so even though your information says that I don't know how to read and write ,it's not correct."

Her entire being emitted a nature confidence which wasn't usually seen in maids. Azik and Kite smirked, lying to a [Clown] who was using watch divination inside a sealed place was just foolishness.

The pocket clock that he was holding in his palm started spinning in anti-clock wise direction. It was clear that she was lying...

Whereas it was true that she didn't knew how to read and write at first but after being recruited by Garcia, she was required to learn how to read and write along with skills like [Knife-skill], [Tracking-skill] ,[Poison-skill] ,etc.

"Have you written this letter ?????" Asked Roland as he passed the paper which Azik gave him to read.

"No...I didn't write that letter, that's not my hand writing...."Tyre lied with a straight face. Internally she was a little nervous. That paper was indeed written by her but since no one saw she writing then she could just deny his claim.

While being trained to become an assassin she was taught to write in many styles so it wasn't a problem with her.

The watch in Roland's hand once again rotated in anti-clock wise direction, Roland still kept his apathetic expression.

"Are you a spy send by my Elder sister ????" This questioned stunned Tyre as she lost control over her expression.

Realising her mistakes she immediately control herself and cursed in her mind 'This...This was too straightforward.'

She immediately knelt down and said in a soft tone "This servant will never betray the fourth prince.....". She bowed her head, successfully hiding her expressions as she sneared in her mind.

'Humph...You are smarter than the rumours make you to be....But I will complete my mission no matter the cost.' A cold glint passed through her eyes.

Roland finished writing and he threw the diary, where the paper came from into the fireplace. Mellena had a confused expression on her face, she couldn't understand what Roland was doing.

One second he was writing on a paper, another second he just burned the diary in the fireplace. She couldn't make any head-tail out of the situation.

Nightingale had a disdainful expression on ber face, she knew that every single words that came out of the mouth of Tyre, nothing but lies. But she too couldn't understand what Roland wanted to do.

Roland looked towards Tyre, his greyish eyes shinned in the darkness. He expression indicated that he was bored.

"One last question,.....Were you the one who poisoned my food ????" Hearing this question Tyre's pupils contracted. Mellena put her hand on her mouth, the shock was too overwhelming.

It was her responsibility to make sure than no harm comes to His Highness, Roland. Their master had ordered them to make sure that no one could harm Roland.

Though unknown to them, the real reason behind this was, so that Roland could hide his powers for as long as he can. The element of surprise make change the course of the upcoming battles.

Azik was a mysteries man, Kite was a general but Roland was just a weak ,frail prince, nothing more and both of them wanted to keep it that way.

Nightingale was shocked by this revelation, she could tell that Roland was telling the truth, someone did indeed poisoned his food. She immediately turned towards Tyre, if she would make any desperate attempts.

The organisation that Kite ,Roland and Azik lead, shall play a major role in saving the witches, she must support them.

Tyre immediately tried to deny saying "No His Highness ,this servant doesn't dare to even dream about something like this."

The watch once again spinned in anti-clock wise direction.

"I.... aghh...Wha.t..." Blood dripped from her lips, tears spilled out her eyes ,she held out her hand and moved them towards her chest.

Blood painted her hands, she could feel a cold metal had pierced her heart, she would soon die. She looked towards Roland who just shook his head and said in a plain tone "You shouldn't have lied...."
