Qualification to become adventurer

"Can I get a guild card?"

"You want to be an adventurer sir?" the girl ask me and I replied "Yes".

"Before that sir you need to pass the qualification to become an adventurer" the girl then point at the right and said "The tester should be there, you can test yourself there and head back here once you're done".

Kea head to the door the girl pointing. While he was walking he hear some adventurer talking.

"Hm... a new adventurer" the adventurer wearing a light armor said and his friend replied "Well if he pass the qualification that is".

Kea hears their smirks not so far but he ignores them. Once he enters the door he found a man sitting at the corner of the training field.

*So this is a training field. Is he the tester?* he ask himself, he plan to approach the man but the man already got up.

"Young man are you here to take the test for qualification?" the man ask. The man looks like his in middle of his thirties. He had gray hair and brown eyes his body is build for a warrior type.

"Yes!" Kea replied and the man the told Kea to select his weapon on the arsenal. The man already had his weapon on it's hand a great sword.

In the arsenal there are many option to pick what weapon he will be using. But as his master said.

The time his undergoing the training for basic great sword skill.

"You know what can overpower the great sword so much?" his master ask.

"Uh- bow?" Kea answered but he meet a smack on the head by his master and said "You wouldn't know if you don't experience it yourself".

*But for what purpose is that smack though?!* he thought as he scratch his head carefully.

Current time

"Hoo You pick something interesting young man" the man said.

*Quarterstaff! It's one of the effective weapon against the great sword* he thought as he put his stance.

Kea spin the quarter staff around it's body and catch it, pointing at the man.

"Well I couldn't be confident enough using this" Kea replied.

"Now let's start our test" the man said. The man had his sword in front of him holding it with two hands.

Kea is still focus waiting for the man to make his first move. But he could react, in a split second the man run and almost in front of him.

Kea quickly spin his quarterstaff from left to the right. He manage to dodge the first attack that comes straight down.

Once the man lift the sword again kea already spin his quarterstaff back to his right arm, catching the end point and swing with all his might.

The man quickly notice the incoming attack and block it with the blunt side of the sword. But Kea is not done yet he spin the quarterstaff back to his left hand again.

Once Kea is ready he lunch again a strike while the man is still recovering his position from defending his first attack.

*This young man. He used the stick to have so many openings in close combat, everytime I move he can just spin his stick to another hand and lunch attack again. What an incredible speed!* the man thought as he looked for the incoming attack.

Kea stop midway barely touching the face of the man.

The man laugh. "I Dyl Conlm, I now confirm that you have the qualification to be adventurer!" then laugh again.

*Maybe I should have used long sword after all* the man thought.

Kea go back to the lobby and confirm his qualification. "Oh you're done?" the girl ask.

"Yes, I'm done with the qualification" I replied. The girl left and take some time. Once the girl is back he hand his guild card.

"Here's your guild card. Your current rank is F you could rank up as long as you want with the quest that is available there" the girl said.

*This is my first step! But I wonder if that man teach me the way of great sword though* Kea thought.
