Lord Klaus’ Fated Vampire Mate

Mara is a special, rare vampire who wasn’t allowed to go outside until she clocked twenty, for her own safety. There, she comes across the most breathtaking man ever and discovers he was her soulmate, but he turns out to be soulmates with her elder sister, and rejects her at once. Mara wasn’t happy, but her sister’s happiness came first, so she took the rejection in one stride and went her way. To her bewilderment, she was accused of the murder of her elder sister the very next day, by none other than her soulmate, Lord Klaus. Three-hundred years old Lord Klaus is a very ruthless and feared Vampire King, a dark soul that loves orderliness as much as he loves power. Mara is a huge disruption in his perfectly outlined life, ruining a lot of plans with her sudden presence, and he hates her so much because of that, making him determined to make her life a living hell. With feelings managing to bloom in the most unexpected and complicated situation, falling in love just couldn’t be helped, nor avoided. But when centuries-old secrets and truths start to unravel, Mara realizes that her whole life might be a lie, resulting in life-threatening dangers arising, thrusting not only Mara into the midst of it, but also Klaus. It was intense, gruesome, life-altering, and chaos was bound to happen. What’s going to happen to Mara? ~~~ EXCERPT ~~~ “Why don’t you just let me die? Why?! Dammit, why?” He took in a single breath before responding. “Because I wanted to kill you myself.” “Oh, yeah?” She sneered. “Do it then! Fucking kill me.” He cocked his head and scoffed. “Maybe if you ask nicely next time like a good girl, I’ll consider doing it.” He inched closer, backing her against the wall until there was nowhere she could run to. He lifted a hand and wrapped it around her throat, which he used in briskly tugging her face close to his. “But, for now, you’re gonna have to stay alive. Not because I give a fuck whether you live or not, but because I know that staying alive is a bigger punishment to you than death.”

The Date

Klaus's POV

The spectators were swept away by the spectacle as I was sure they had not watched two former humans duke it out before. Their cheers reverberated throughout the arena, their voices blending into a chorus of admiration and awe.

"You said she lost her powers," he said as I nodded while Gail went on with his observation. "He fights like a seasoned warrior. I can take her in and teach her the ropes to being a very successful fighter."

"I don't think…"

I heard people scream which caught my attention as I looked into the ring to see the two had each carried weapons to use on each other.

Without thinking, I zipped in between them as they both hit me with the weapons, smashing it to pieces on me.

Mara dropped her shattered sword in shock while the guard behind me fell in tears with his dented hammer.

They had not expected me to appear before them.

The entire arena fell silent as I looked at Mara with disappointment.

"Everyone should leave us alone," I muttered as the entire hall cleared out in a minute.

We stared at each other for sometime before she raised her clasped hands to her face.

"I really apologize for what happened. I got carried away and…"

"You did a good job," I smiled at her. "You're stronger than I thought. Maybe if you were a vampire you could have been closer to me in strength."

Now she was back to her former cheeky behavior as we laughed over it while talking and bantering with each other.

I escorted her to her chambers and asked to meet her the next day as she nodded, waving me off for the night.

Mara's POV

When I was in the bathtub, I remembered the fight I had with that bastard of a guard.

Looking at my hands, I could see the wounds there, open and hurting.

Maybe I should have held back on my punches but I was too angry.

One of the punches I could tell had dented the guard's face and if I had hit him again, it would have gotten him blind.

I liked the way he had looked at me after everyone had left us alone in the arena.

Klaus seemed to be drawn to me because of what I had done to his fellow warrior.

It had me smiling as I caught myself having feelings for the man.

The next day, I waited for him to show up at my door but he didn't.

I had learned the hard way that if he showed up at my chambers then that meant that he wanted us to chat in the room, but if he didn't show up, I was to meet up with him at the garden where he would take me outside the walls of the castle for the night.

While waiting for him to show up for the evening with the sun going down rapidly, someone knocked on my door.

I opened it to see two maids bowing before me as they dragged in a dress rack which had two sexy gowns on it.

"What is going on?" I asked as one of them spoke up.

"The master suggested that we help you wear one of these and come down to the garden. He awaits your presence."

I looked at the dresses and smiled. They were pretty.

I could not deny that I would look good in them so I decided to go with them.

I walked to the rack and chose one of the dresses as the maids helped me wear them.

Within minutes, I was done as they had also helped me with my makeup and provided shoes for me.

I stood in front of the mirror, flabbergasted at how pretty I looked.

"How do I look?" I asked the women who clapped their hands excitedly. They were visibly happy about my appearance.

"You look really pretty."

That had me excited as I thanked them and started out of the door.

The guards bowed before me, leading me down the stairs and out of the castle as I saw the king leaning against a Bentley.

"You look… lovely," he said, his eyes ravaging me in one fell swoop.

If we were not on different ends, I was sure I would have eaten him up as a sexual toy because in that suit, he looked hotter than anyone I had ever seen in my life.

He looked like the characters one would see in a movie or a book. He was a beauty to behold.

"Thank you," I smiled as he nodded.

He opened the passenger's door for me to get in which I found chivalrous.

When I was in, he slammed the door shut and zipped around the car getting in within a second.

"Where are you taking me?" I asked, looking out of the window while wearing the seat belt as he smiled at me.

"It's a surprise. I do hope you will love it."

With the dress, the car and now a location being mentioned, I knew this was heading into a direction I had not seen coming.

Was this a date? This was new.

This was the first time we were going on a date.

I didn't want to say anything to ruin the date so I stayed silent in my seat while he drove us out of the castle.

I looked at his arms gently grabbing the steering wheel and wondered how he could be gentle this way when he had killed more than three mystical bears the other day.

He was a mystery to behold.

We drove through the empty streets silently, not saying a word to one another as we got to the restaurant and he parked in front of it.

A young boy came to him to take the keys as he got out, zipping around to open my door as I took his extended hand and got out of the car.
