Preparation for the party

The next Monday, I resumed school forgetting all that happened in the past week, I was determined on focusing on my studies and every other little things.

I entered class and met Courtney sitting in the third row. I smiled at her and she smiled back. she then waved for me to come sit beside her apparently she had saved the sit for me.

I sat down and removed my notes from my bags. I noticed Courtney was looking intently at me, I then ask why she is looking at me, and she replied "nothing really, you just look... different in a kind of way" tilting her head to the side in a funny way. I shaked my head and smiled

"oh, in what kind of way miss Courtney?" I said

""oh my friend, you don't know?, you look braver and more courageous than the last time I saw you " she replied dramatically as she placed a hand on her chest

I laughed out loud and hit her playfully and said "maybe it's too the makeup and hair miss"

"ah hem" we heard a voice and both turned to the direction and it was that guy I met on my day at campus

"may I join you ladies so I can laugh too" he said

I was shocked as I saw him here.

"sure you can join us " Courtney replied him

"thank you" he said back and took a sit beside me

" I'm Christopher by the way, what about you ladies?" he asked us.

We wanted to reply when we heard the door open and a man came in. he introduced himself as the Dean of humanities and told us about a program that was coming up soon which would require the joint efforts of creative writing students and

"you all are the pride of this school, there is an upcoming program which will and can only be possible if you all here from these two departments join hands" the dean said

"I know you all are new and would seem anxious that's why I've paired you with students from the higher level, they will help you with the little knowledge they have about this program" he continued to talk

" so that's why he's here" I said to my self glancing at Christopher

" the program is all about expressing your inner selves and thoughts through writing and performance, that's why we have joined students from the department of creative writing and theatre arts together so we can win this thing" he said as his voice echoed in the hall.

"so I want you all to work together to make us proud, we will be picking 10 people that is 5 students from creative writing and 5 students from theatre arts. The theme of what your work will be surrounded by is 'emotions and feelings'. Note you are competing among other schools whose students are also good, but I want you to be the best. however, I will put some lecturers in charge of this program who will look after you guys. I wish you all good luck" he said as he left the hall and the lecturer we had that morning came in to take us.

Class ended and we were packing our bags when said "sorry, I didn't get your names earlier"

Courtney and I looked at each other and she replied "hi, I'm Courtney and she's Amy " she said pointing to herself and to me afterwards. I smiled lightly at him.

we stood up and told him we were leaving after having a few discussions which I didn't really pay attention to and just nodded at intervals. he said he'd walk us and I didn't know what to say so I just agreed. i still can't get over the fact that he makes me feel some type of way.

we reached where Courtney parked her car and he bade us goodbye and left. we entered and headed to Courtney's dorm as we still had some spare time and I just wanted to relax before I went home.

we opened the door and surprisingly it wasn't locked. Courtney's roommates were around along with some people I couldn't recognize, they were probably their friends. we entered and I greeted them and headed to Courtney's bed.

"so, Amy how have you been" Stella said as she was having her nails painted by one of the girls among the people I couldn't recognize.

"I've been okay and what about you?" I replied her

" I've been well too" she said

" what course are you majoring" Rosa asked me

"creative writing"I replied her as I removed my jacket

"oh, a course for nerds" she said and laughed

"oh, come on Rosa not all people who study creative writing are nerds or weirdos" stephanie said as she smiled to me

"by the way, who was the guy who walked you guys to the car?" she asked

"you guys are stalking us?" Courtney asked with a voice that induced irritation

"girl, chill we aren't that jobless, we just happened to see you guys when we were heading back" Stephanie replied Courtney

"he's just a friend" I said to Stephanie

" he's cute tho, I might invite him for the party we will be hosting this weekend " she said and smiled deeply which showed her dimples

"by the way, would you be available this weekend we will be hosting a party for all the new students to meet, old students too will be attending and there will be lots of games and a lot to drink, it will be fun trust me" she said to me

"uhm, I would think about it and give you an answer later, is that okay?" I asked her

" yes, it is, but please consider coming" she said making cute eyes which made me giggle.

I smiled and nodded

Time went by fast and it was time for me to go home. Courtney escorted me to the bus stop. on the way we continued our discussion, part of it was me telling her how I'm looking for an apartment close to school so I can just get to school early and she was so happy with the idea.

Wednesday afternoon after class, Courtney and I went to check out some apartments and I finally found one which I liked and was up to my taste. The apartment was a flat apartment painted white and grey all around, the kitchen was spacious and the bathroom was very neat too. The bedroom was also big enough for me and what I loved about the apartment most was where the building it I was located. the building is located in a serene and cool environment which was everything I wanted. The rent was $1200 per month which was okay for me.

I paid for it and did every other necessary thing. I bought a 6 by 6 bed and a wardrobe and kitchen utensils and all other items that I needed.

I moved in on Friday morning. I was so tired as I laid on the bed and was drifting to sleep when I heard the sound of the bell. I checked through the hole in the door and saw that it was Courtney and opened the door for her.

she rushed into the kitchen to drop the bags she had with her. she had stopped by on the way to get some groceries I guessed.

"girl you made some changes to this place. it's so you" she said as laughed out loud

"oh by the way have you decided whether or not you're going to Stephanie's party, it's tomorrow?" she asked no with all seriousness

"hmm, I don't know yet, I'm not sure I would want to mingle with people " I replied her

"girl, let's go it'll be fun, I promise besides it wouldn't be fun without you" she said as she grabbed my hand making a cute face

"okay, even if I agree to go, I don't have what to wear" I replied her

" don't worry about that, we can just go shop some clothes later in the afternoon, we need to turn you into a baby girl, no hoodie and pants for this party " she said happily as she dragged me along to the kitchen

I smiled and said to myself ' I hope I don't regret

FASTFORWARD TO AFTERNOON SHOPPING

we went to different stores but I didn't find what I would feel comfortable in. As we were just strolling along the streets we came across this store that seemed new and decided to try it out.

we entered and we saw all sorts of clothes. we checked through rack by rack till I saw this beautiful gown which hd a slightly puffed shoulder and puffy sleeves, the waist was thin and the under was pleated flair. it looked modest and unique and I signaled to the shop owner that I wanted this. But now the problem lies with the shoe to wear and bag to carry..I felt stressed and asked Courtney for help. The gown was brown in color.

"excuse me, do you have heels and bags in this color" Courtney asked the man who seemed to be in his early 30s

"yes we do, follow. me madams" he said and we followed behind him

he showed us a few and I ended picking up a silver clutch and a brown heel which wasn't too high or too low. I tried on the cloth and shoes and it fits perfectly like it was made just for me. we paid and left for home

"thank God we're home" I said as I dropped myself on the couch with Courtney also doing the same

"I'll go get us some water" I said and went to bring water out from the refrigerator

" thank you" Courtney said as I handed her a glass of water

"girl I can't wait for their reaction when they see you tomorrow" she said and giggled happily

"yeah me too, I can't wait to see how I look " I said and laid down on the couch and closed my eyes to sleep.

It was evening by the time I opened my eyes. Courtney was also awake. She was packing her bags so she could go home. I escorted her and came back inside after she had left. I packed the bags we brought bag from shopping into my room and went to take my bath and I made tea to drink and slept

'beep, beep beep, my alarm woke me up. I turned to the right side of the bed and put it off. I went into the bathroom to have my bath and took pajamas to wear since I was home

'baby, lately, I've been thinking, I want you to be happier'

My phone rang as I rushed immediately to the bed to check who could be calling me and it was Tracy

" Hello dear, how are you doing?" She said immediately I picked the call

"I'm doing well and you?" I replied her

" I'm doing okay too, I just missed you and decided to call you" she said to me

"Oh, thank you very much, I miss you too?" I replied her

" I hope everything is okay there " she asked concern evident in her voice"

" Yes, I am, you don't need to worry too much" I replied her

"Okay, I won't, I'll drop the call now so you can do whatever you want to do, bye" she said

"Bye" I replied her and cut the call

Shortly after I came back from the kitchen after making some toasts and tea for that morning , Courtney called

"Hey, baby girl how you doing?" She asked

" I'm fine" I replied her

"Okay, hope you're still coming from the party?" She asked

" Yes I am" I said to her

" Okay then, I'll come later this evening, bye"

" Bye" I replied her and cut the call
