New friend

Thomas slowly walked up to Shiki's daughter. If anything was going to happen, Thomas at least wanted to make a good first impression on her. As he walked slowly, he memorized her appearance, not because he liked her or something, but because he wanted to see who her mother was. He saw her blood-red eyes, the same as Arcueid's, and even her hairstyle resembled Arcueid's from the remake. The only difference was her hair color, which was the same as Shiki's. He noticed she was a red belt, which meant she was close to mastering the martial arts of the dojo. Now, he was in front of her, his scarlet red eyes meeting her blood-red eyes. It was like silence enveloped the room for a few seconds before Thomas did a 90° bow to the girl and introduced himself.

"Hello there, my name is Thomas. It's an honor to meet you."

The girl looked at him before giggling a bit and then laughing, which caught Thomas off guard.

"I'm sorry, my name is Xue Ling Nanaya."

Thomas was surprised that Shiki used his real last name instead of his adopted one.

"Well, it's nice to meet you, Miss Ling."

"Hey, don't call me miss. I am the same age as you. Also, just call me Xue. I don't care about the whole last and first name. A name is just a name, that's all."

Thomas could see that she was someone who saw a name as just a name. He also had the same mindset; he just saw a name as a name, that's all.

"Are you two done talking?"

All three of them heard a woman's voice, and they all saw it came from a girl with long yellow hair and blood-red eyes, fair skin, and a decent-size chest. She was wearing a white turtleneck with a blue skirt. Thomas already knew who she was; she was Arcuied, a true Ancestor, or basically, in a really dumbed-down explanation, the vampire princess.

"Ah, dear, what are you doing here?"

Shiki asked his wife, wondering what she was doing in the dojo. Normally, it was just him and Xue training, and they would wait for more of his students to come. Normally, they came in the afternoon, so he just trained Xue to learn his martial arts. Seeing her here was a surprise.

"What, you're not happy to see your wife?"

"No, it's not that, Dad, sweetheart."

Shiki said in a panicked tone. Thomas realized that even Shiki, who had the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception, was scared of his wife, even though he chopped her up into 16 or 17 pieces when he first met her. But that was in the past. Thomas then looked at Xue; she had a bored face as he walked up to her before saying to her that if they were always like this.

"Well, in a way, Mom and Dad are always like this, but still, it is in the house, not the dojo."

"Anyway, let's see. So, you're Riyo's son. What's your name, Thomas, right?"

Arcuied asked Thomas, looking directly at him, and Thomas felt a chill down his spine. Seeing this, Red started to scan him, but what he saw was something that scared the robot.

"Sh-sh-sh-sh-she is a threat level Z."

Red said to Thomas. Thomas asked him what that means.

"Normally, my threat level only goes up to that of triple S, but there are times where they go to SSS+ or - but in a very rare time, it goes all the way up to Z. Which is the most highest possible power level."

Thomas would not be surprised; Arcuied was someone who could destroy a world by herself if she let herself go and used her full power. At 50% power, she could take down a god, and when she goes 100%, the only thing to stop her is an army of heroic spirits from the Root. The Root was no joking place; it was basically the domain of Void Shiki, one of the most powerful people in the Nasuverse. It was filled with versions of every hero in the Nasuverse. Seeing that it was the place where people go to receive through magic, it is safe-guarded.

"Also, Void Shiki is not the same as Shiki from Tsukihime. She is a different person from Garden of Sinners, which is another work made by the same creator but in a different universe."

"Don't question this, Red. She is a very powerful Dead Apostle."

Thomas will laugh in his thinking to himself that he does not have time for this.

"I will explain to you later, Scarab, okay?"

"You didn't call me Red today."

"Yeah, that's why. You know I will not answer you."

"Okay, I understand."

"Um, hello, are you there?"

Arcuied asked Thomas, wondering what was going on.

"Oh, sorry, Miss Arcuied."

Arcuied will laugh a bit before looking at Thomas with her eyes meeting his.

"You seem to have a strong spirit. Let's see what you can do."

Arcuied's eyes glowed a bit. Then Thomas shook his head.

"What was that, Thomas? I felt like something was getting into your mind."

Thomas realized what it was; Arcuied was using her own Mystic Eyes to see if he could escape it or not, but what she didn't know was that he had Red, which saved him.

"Yes, I do, Miss Arcuied, and I tell you, I am strong, and I will grow stronger."

Arcuied, hearing that, smiled, and Thomas could see her fangs. On instinct, he covered his neck; he was not getting his blood drained. Arcuied then looked at Thomas, confused.

"It's nothing, Miss. Just, I felt like a mosquito was biting my neck."

"Alright then, so I have something to ask: why don't you fight my daughter?"

Both Thomas and Xue were shocked.

"I think it's a good idea. Why don't you try it?"

"Are you sure, Dad?"

Xue asked with concern in her voice.

Shiki smiled.

"I'm okay with this."

"Seriously, Thomas, you too? You know what, fine. Let's just do this and get this over with."
