When a past came calling...

2010 October...

After saying that, Savannah ran inside and straight to her room.

After Adam's death, Amanda became more protective of Savannah but that still doesn't prove why she won't let her go to their old home.

Savannah locked the door behind her and brought out the photos she took from their old home. She walked slowly to her bed and sat down while still staring at the photos. Even though the photos were taken a long time ago, they held a lot of meaning to her.

Just then, her phone beeped and she brought it out of her pocket to have a look. It was a message from Nathan. It read, ' I'll need you to come by my house tomorrow afternoon. We need to discuss something important'.

After reading the message, Savannah sighed and put down her phone. 'What would he want to talk about ', Savannah thought before turning of the lights and getting ready to sleep .

....

Savannah woke up to the sunlight on her face. She got up from bed and went to her bathroom to freshen up. Minutes later, Savannah walked out of her bathroom fully dressed in her blue and white striped shirt with white jeans and white sneakers.

After getting dressed, Savannah went downstairs for breakfast. She went to the kitchen after smelling the nice aroma of something cooking.

"What are you cooking? It smells delicious", Savannah said sitting on the counter.

"I'm making pancakes, do you want some?"

" Yes! Thanks Rachel". Savannah said as Rachel put a few pancakes in a plate for her.

Savannah took the plate from Rachel and went to the dinning table, there she made a cup of tea and toast and drank it with her pancakes.

While sipping her tea, Savannah went through her messages and decided to text Nathan since he was active.

" What do you want to talk about?" Almost immediately, Nathan replied.

" Just come to my house it's really important". From all the years Savannah knew Nathan, she had never seen him act so desperate before.

' What ever he wants to talk about, it must be really important', Savannah thought before gulping down her tea and rushing to the living room. She picked up her purse and phone before rushing to the door.

Before Savannah could open the door, she heard someone say, " where do you think you're going?" and stopped in her tracks.

Amanda walked up to Savannah and stood in front of her, Savannah didn't know what to say to her mom so she kept quiet.

" I asked you something, where do you think you're going?" Savannah looked around before saying.

" I'm going to Nathan's house, he wants to talk about something important". Savannah said while still avoid to meet Amanda's eyes.

Amanda walked to the living room and sat on the coach before saying, " So you're telling me, that after all what I said last night, you still want to go outside and roam round freely? Tell me what's so bad in sitting at home until the killer is found?"

" Mom! Nathan's house is just a few blocks away, nothing bad is going to happen, I'm just going to spend an hour and then come home."

Amanda stood up and walked up to Savannah before saying in a gentle voice." Savannah, I recently just lost a son, I don't want to lose you too".

Savannah didn't say anything after that, instead she looked at her mother in shock.

After a while of silence, Savannah finally spoke, " So, you think that if I leave the house, the killer will attack me? So is that why you won't let me leave the house?" Savannah said as a tear drop slowly fell down her cheeks.

" Savannah dear, it's dangerous out there and I don't want anything bad to happen to you, I'm just trying to protect you"

" Protect me! Mom I'm 18 years old, I can take care of myself, I don't need you treating me like as if I'm a little child!" Savannah screamed before storming out of the house ignoring her mother's shouts.

What Amanda said stuck in Savannah's head. She couldn't believe that her mother thinks she still has a say in everything Savannah does.

Savannah walked to Nathan's house while wiping angry tears from her face. She checked the time and already 30 minutes had passed since she left home.

She arrived at Nathan's house a while later and texted him to let him know of her arrival.

She waited a few minutes before she heard the clicking sound of someone opening the gate. The gate opened and Savannah saw Nathan standing right in front of her.

Savannah froze as soon as she met his eyes but ignored him and walked inside. The feeling of being next to him after so many weeks of being apart made Savannah feel nervous.

She walked into the house and was surprised to see that the living room looks just like when she last saw it.

She looked around the living room for a while before she felt a light tap on her shoulder and out of fear, didn't hesitate to look behind her.

" Oh, I'm sorry. Have a seat, make yourself at home". Nathan said, sitting down on one of the coaches and reserved some space for her to sit.

Savannah awkwardly sat down by the other end of the coach and put her phone in her purse.

" So why did you ask me to come over?" Savannah asked after a while of silence.

Nathan stood up which made Savannah stand up as well.

" Actually, I wanted to talk about us. Who am I to you?"

" Who am I to you !? Are you seriously asking that? After accusing me of what I didn't do and cutting all ties with me, you still have the mind to ask that!?" Savannah said almost shouting.

" Anna look, I was wrong, and, I know it's too late to say sorry, for all what I did to you, but, would you forgive me?" Nathan said holding Savannah's hands.

Savannah pulled away from Nathan before saying, " Forgive me, Nathan you accused me of killing your sister. You didn't trust me and just threw me out of your like I was garbage, tell me, how do you except me to forgive you for that?" Savannah said as a tear drop slowly fell down her cheek.

" Anna please, I love you, I'd do anything just for you to forgive me". Nathan said holding Savannah's shoulders.

" Nathan. I'd only forgive you if, you help me catch the person that tore us apart, the person that killed your sister. If you help me catch that person, then I'd come back to you and love you just like I used to".

As soon as she finished her sentence, Nathan hugged her tight but she didn't hug him back...
