Price of Land

When Liu Xiaolan woke up and noticed that she was in Mu Yuchen's arm, she was surprised but her reaction wasn't as big as the last time.

With the previous time this situation happened, adding to the fact that she was already used to his presence, Liu Xiaolan was quite calm this time.

Without bothering about whenever her little fool was still asleep or not, she quickly stood up and prepared herself for the day.

Liu Xiaolan didn't care about it much at the beginning, since she was concerned about their taste, but when she finally managed to cook them in a way that was both tasty and didn't need much salt or time, she was shocked.

Looking at the huge amount of chestnuts lying down next to their house, she couldn't help but feel a little bothered.

She did knew that there were a lot of chestnuts trees on the mountains, but did Mu Yuchen take everything away? With so many of them, they won't even be able to keep all of them inside their house.

And just leaving them to lie down in front of her house is not ideal either, what if other villagers get curious?

Liu Xiaolan thought about it and decided that they can just make a simple hole in the ground to keep the chestnuts in. Most villagers don't come close to her house, and even if they pass by it's better to let them see some ground lying around then the chestnuts.

"Little fool, stop bringing more of them for now…" She shouted towards Mu Yuchen who was already preparing to go back towards the forest.

Mu Yuchen stopped and looked at her.

"We can't store more than we already have. You've brought enough of chestnuts for now…" She said, as she started explaining to him about the hole they need to make.

It was just that digging a big hole is easier said than done. Without the necessary tools, are they supposed to dig with their own hands?

Just as Liu Xiaolan was a little confused, Village Head Ren came towards them. "Little girl, why did you pick so many chestnuts?"

Ren Lanfeng just came back from the city and prepared to go and talk with Liu Xiaolan about the plot of land that she wanted to buy. However, he didn't expect to see such an amount of chestnuts lying down next to their house.

Most villagers wouldn't even bother themselves with picking up chestnuts, since they taste quite bitter and it's not worth their time. Unless someone is poor and can't afford to feed their own family, they wouldn't think of eating them.

Liu Xiaolan just smiled and changed the topic. "Uncle Ren, you're here. Did you go to the city?"

For Ren Lanfeng buying 50 acres at once was truly a difficult thing to think about. After all, most people in the village only had a few acres of land in their names. Even if the plot of land that Liu Xiaolan wants to buy is not fertile land, it still would take a lot of money to eat such a big terrain at once.

Liu Xiaolan was already happy. As long as they are willing to sell to her, she can think about a way to get the money. "How much do they sell the land for?"
