The Magic Tower (III)

"Edward..."

I watch as Ed picks up the call, Sky said from the other side.

"What is it Skyler?" Ed asked cheerfully.

"I want to talk to Ward." Skyler said, I could only see a little bit of her because the contact ball was facing Ed.

"Why does everyone want to talk with Ward today?" Ed became all grumpy and gloomy.

"Sorry Ed I promise to talk about stories of Our lord later ok." 

'What stories!?'

I looked at Ed and saw his eyes shine bright like a child getting his harvest gift early. 

"Ohk done deal."

"Huuu.." I could hear Skyler on the other end.

I watch this interaction in quite shock as it's not often I see my comrades interact with each other without me. As I watched, Ed switched to Ward and Ward just gave me a small glance before continuing with Skyler.

"What?"

"Ward did you get any intel about anything related to the Brightfall?" Skyler asked in a hurry. 

"Not anything in particular. But I have to ask, is something wrong with Leia? She is not answering any of the calls and no information is coming from her guilt?" 

I twitched at the mention of Leia and her going cold. 

"I don't know either, she has been like this after she crossed paths with lord."

Ward nodded with that statement. 

'Leia is keeping her mouth shut about the suicidal plan because of me. She is willing to become a hurdle for the Brightfall on either side. If information does not come from the nightflags guild then they can't do really much. Good job Leia.' 

"Well what's the next plan? Since nobody is ready to listen and the order is going nowhere. Besides we still have to search for my lord. Ed sensed him near here but he had not arrived yet." Ward told quite a lie right in front of me. 

"Strange Jasper just showed up at the frost castle telling me he is heading your way." Skyler sounded confused with the situation. 

"Let me see if I can find him."

Ward just smirked and said to her "How are you going to do that Skyler? You don't have Leia, Jasper is out of his mind right now, Reed is too loyal to even tell us if he knows and others don't trust you because of what is happening."

'what is going on...'

I watched the situation and couldn't seem to find a perfect reaction to give. 

"What about you?" Skyler asked him weakly.

"Skyler, you know how it is, don't you? You know I know all of Sir's thought process and you can't work without me in regards to knowing what he will do next but since you are his assistant I believe you are not that far off in understanding. So let's cut to the chase and bring the original plan back and get Jasper to calm down." 

"...." Only silence could be heard.

"Skyler, I know you are smart just think. The balance is gone and we need to bring it back."

"Huuu I guess the truth needs to be told. Jasper what do you say?"

'Jas is there with her?'

"Ward listen carefully ok."

Ward just stared at them with blank eyes.

'I need to stop them!!'

I motioned Ward to stop the call but he just looked at me and frowned.

"Ward?" I hear Jas call him.

"ya continue."

I stare at Ward with wide eyes.

"Kaan is planning to kill himself at the end of the plan." I heard the thing that I didn't want to let Edward know. Jas said the main point with so bluntly like he has been keeping it all inside for a long period of time.

"...." No responses from Ward. 

I was on my knees ready to take a run for it if anything goes wrong. 

"Ward?" Once again Jas's voice came from the contact ball. 

"Well I don't believe that. I will just ask My lord about it." His sparky eyes smiled and he switched back to Ed. 

"We have to find him first for you to ask that." Skyler said.

Ed just shook his head and looked at me and said "he is right here I will ask him."

"...." Silence as all three of us were in complete shock for completely different reasons.

I could finally hear noise of hasty movements and Jas exited the contact ball's range.

'Jas is coming I have to get out.'

"Ed show me. Show him to me. I want to talk to him. Make sure he doesnt run away."

While Skyler said that I was already on my feet walking towards the door. I felt some power grab me. It was amber mana. It lifted me up and sat me back down on the couch. 

Ed got up with the contact ball and placed it in front of me. While he sat down beside me.

"Say hi Skyler." Ed energetically said.

"My lord, are you well? Have you eaten? Have you slept?"

'Not the questions I was expecting...'

"I fed him but he looks like he has not slept for two days."

"Good my lord you have to take a break and sleep for a while."

"What?" I was completely baffled and lost at this point.

"Now my lord, why don't you tell Ed about your plan." Skyler said while raising her eyebrows and smirking. 

'Damn you all'

"As I keep telling you, it was in the past, that plan is not what we are going to follow."

Skyler's face hardened and turned serious and so did mine.

"Well everyone is convinced with that and that's why it is so hard to change their mind. If you don't spread the truth we will all join the war with the north and capture you." 

"What nonsense are you saying? You can't do that."

"You are the one making it difficult, my lord , just let us do your job and you just have to relax. Isn't it great?"

"Clearly not. Why don't you all start following my orders again and everything would be solved."

"We won't back down from your safety."

"And let's see how you work without me. You know without the head the body is useless." I showed her a wry smile.

Skyler smirked, "Well my lord without the body the head is worthless."

We stared at each other until at least one of us gave up the fight. 

But it didn't continue long as Ed picked up the ball and cut the call then threw it. 

And I just stared at him in flabbergasted.
