Bound by the threads of fate, Nox becomes the Librarian of the Eternal Library, a conduit between worlds. Here, amidst forgotten tomes and arcane secrets, he encounters Luke, a captive of eternity. Luke's longing to reunite with his parents resonates with Nox's search, but Luke holds knowledge beyond Nox's reckoning. United by destiny, their paths intertwine, setting in motion a tidal wave of change. The Tower's denizens watch as the tapestry of lives shifts, unraveling mysteries and rewriting destinies. Can Nox navigate this enigmatic realm to uncover his lineage and fulfill Luke's yearning? With every step, the Tower quakes, and its people are stirred. The Tower is a crucible, forging both heroes and gods. As Nox and Luke tread its labyrinthine passages, they'll not only shape their destinies but also reshape the very essence of The Tower. Prepare to witness a metamorphosis like no other. For in this saga, The Tower itself will be transformed, and at its heart stands Nox, bound to unravel not only the Tower's secrets but his own existence. Embark on a journey where mysteries converge, dreams take flight, and The Tower and its inhabitants are forever altered. _________________________________ **Warning:** The protagonist begins with strength and grows stronger over time. At the start of the story, the main character feels confused and struggles to adjust to the Tower, much like an ordinary person. While the main character is kind and affectionate, there are moments when he become angry and behave selfishly or maliciously. This story doesn't feature a perfect "Knight in shining armor" protagonist. He is human too, like you and me. If you're seeking shallow characters, you won't find them here. Every character, no matter how minor, has a backstory. Nox, too, holds a intricate past that will gradually unfold throughout the novel. _________________________________ This novel has taken inspiration from some of my favorite novels, such as: Leveling with the gods Second Life ranker Omniscient reader's viewpoint Solo Leveling and many more.... Even though most writers use the top books as inspiration, they do not say it aloud, like me. But, I love the novels I used as inspiration wholeheartedly. Even though all I can do is try, I will provide the readers with the best story possible. _________________________________ P.S: This is my first webnovel. Shadow Master (1)

{Author's Note: I will be returning to first-person POV (point of view) from this chapter onwards!}

------------------------

[You have levelled up!]

[You have levelled up!]

[You have levelled up!]

How long was I unconscious?

Wait! The Minotaur! Did I really defeat it?

I sprung back up on my legs, which had regained some of their vitality during my unconsciousness.

The corpse of the huge monster lay lifeless beside me.

"Heh.. to think that I would really win…." I mumbled, falling to the ground before the minotaur's corpse.

[You have obtained 40,000 points! ]

[You have obtained the Bloodcursed Axe! ]

[You have obtained Black-Minotaur's gauntlet!]

These rewards were great! It was worth it to complete this side challenge.

I picked up the items and examined them.

**********

Bloodcursed Axe (A)

An axe forged by an ancient blacksmith.

It adjusts its size according to its user.

+170 attack damage.

**********

**********

Black-Minotaur's gauntlet (S)

+20% damage reduction

+40 attack damage.

+20 vitality

Gripping strength is exponentially increased.

**********

It's my first time getting an S-rank item!! To think that it would even increase my vitality. Amazing!

This axe is beyond phenomenal! Its damage is almost six times the damage the moon dagger has. Although it shrank down to fit in my hand, it will still be bothersome to use it.

[You have completed the side challenge of the First Floor!]

[You have earned the title: One worthy of the throne]

[You have obtained 5000 points]

[You have levelled up!]

[You have levelled up!]

One worthy of the throne? What kind of title was this?

**********

One worthy of the throne(?)

?????

**********

What the hell was this? Why couldn't I see any information regarding this title? Was this some sort of special title?

Anyway, I got out of the battle alive. That's what matters right now.

[No more monsters are left to be summoned]

[You have completed the main challenge of the first floor!]

Finally!

I wonder which class I should choose? Like everything else, the classes here are probably similar to the ones in video games. As such, there might be classes like warrior, assassin, magician, healer, and the like.

Considering my expertise and experience in stealth and infiltration, an assassin class would suit me perfectly.

[A class is being selected for the player!]

[The player's talent and potential are being analyzed!]

What? I didn't have any choice over the class I'd obtain. Moreover, how could the Tower even measure someone's talent and potential?

Just what was the Tower?

[The player already has a class!]

[Other rewards will be provided to the player!]

Did it consider the 'librarian' as a class? I guess it made sense.

[The player's merit on the first floor far exceeds the expected merit!]

[The player shall obtain 4 random skills A-grade or above!]

What!!! FOUR A-tier or above skills!!??

This felt way better than receiving a class, even though I didn't know the benefits of a 'class'.

[You have obtained the skill: Adaptability (S)]

**********

Adaptability (S)

Remain calm and composed in every situation.

Adapt to everything at an exceptional rate.

The user learns at an exceptional rate.

**********

[You have obtained the skill: Flame Meddling (A)]

**********

Flame Meddling (A)

A skill which enables the user to control flames freely.

The user will become highly resistant to fire.

Arcane consumption: 5~50 arcane per minute

Proficiency: 0%

**********

[You have obtained the skill: Exceptional Blessing (A) ]

**********

Exceptional Blessing(A)

The user will always remain healthy and strong.

The healing rate is exceptionally increased when the user rests.

The stamina depletion rate is significantly decreased.

**********

[You have obtained the skill: Gigantification (A)]

**********

Gigantification (A)

Become able to turn into a giant.

Due to the current proficiency and the low strength and constitution of the user, only partial gigantification can occur.

Arcane consumption: 10~1000 arcane per minute.

Proficiency: 0%

**********

These skills were beyond anything I had ever expected. It was almost unthinkable that I would get all of these tremendous skills on the first floor itself.

The 'Survivability' skill caught my eye the most of all these skills. It was the most intriguing skill among all the others.

The 'exceptional blessing' skill was incredible! Not only did it increase my healing rate, but it even decreased the speed at which my stamina would be confused.

As for the 'gigantification' skill and the 'flame-meddling' skill, it would be best if I tested them after fully regaining my energy.

I took off my tracksuit from the wolf's fang lodged in the pillar and wore it.

Sliding the moon dagger back into its scabbard and putting the wolf's fang in my waist pouch, I sat down, reclining my back against the pillar.

Seeing the rewards I obtained, it was worth risking my life.

I needed to get stronger than anybody else to meet my parents, at least that's what Luke had told me. Right now, I didn't have any other choice than to believe him.

Around an hour was still left for the main challenge to end. It wouldn't do me any good if I exerted myself anymore. Resting would be the better choice.

Stretching my four limbs, I relaxed all my muscles.

The battles of the first floor were finally over. I had finally completed the first step toward my parents.

Relaxing and calming down my entire body, I dozed off before I knew it.

"You already knew about him, didn't you, J?" commented a woman, sipping her tea. The woman was sitting on a cushioned chair, which was kept in front of a table.

She wore a long black gown along with a black veil, covering her face.

The room was well-lit, the walls were painted white, and the floor had expensive-looking marble tiles. In addition, it was big enough to fit ten people comfortably.

Two tables were kept adjacent, and a modular kitchen was built opposite the room.

But, strangely, neither a window nor a door could be seen in the room.

"Maybe," replied the tutorial's administrator, as he leaned against the kitchen counter, slowly sipping his tea.

"Maybe?" inquired the woman.

"By the way, I don't remember when I invited you, the first floor's administrator, to tea," J commented sarcastically, staring at the woman who had barged into his room.

"Ahhhh… Don't be like that, J. We have known each other for over a hundred millennia. If only it wasn't for that personality of yours, we would already have become close friends," the woman calmly replied.

"Just state your business," J said, obviously irritatedly.

Placing her teacup on the table, the woman replied, "Recently, a player completed the first floor."

"Everybody does," replied J, refilling his empty tea cup.

"Indeed they do… But the thing is... the player who completed the first floor this time, almost surpassed the first Tower Lord's merit," informed the administrator of the first floor, with a severe tone.

The First Tower Lord.

Only a handful of people knew who he was. But, there was one thing that everyone agreed on: He was the strongest being to ever exist in the Tower.

The only one who could probably challenge him was the man who was trapped in the eternal library. Still, the First Tower Lord had disappeared long before Luke even entered the Tower.

Although there were baseless rumours following his disappearance, nobody alive knew what actually happened.

"What1?" J blurted, smashing the teacup on the counter before taking his seat on a chair in front of the woman.

"That's why I came here. Before this, the only one to even get close to the First's merit was 'him', " answered the lady.

'I guess he wasn't chosen at random by the Tower,' thought J, thinking back to his encounter with Nox.

"Do you know anyone who can achieve such a feat?" inquired the woman.

The woman was ranked beneath J. As such, she could not interfere with the participants and their information unless the Tower allowed her to. But J, one of the 'black-masked', didn't have this big of a restriction placed on him.

"Hah! You'll come to know him soon enough," he smirked, refilling the woman's teacup.

Nox was forcefully woken by the sound of a message window popping up in front of him.

[A secondary class shall be provided, considering the exceptional achievements and potential of the player!]
