Levelling by the Sidelines

Being one of the few hunters at the top, the S-ranked Marksman Hunter "Ace" had it all. A strong sense of combat, wealth, fame, and a bright future ahead of him. Yet, despite it all, he felt nothing at all to his feats. He was just content with his life, not wanting anything else. Having risen to unimaginable heights through battling many gates over the years, his glory was renowned throughout the world and was said to be one of the few hunters that would pave the path to a brighter future for their generation. Episode 10: New Links (1)

The morning sun shone brightly through the empty streets of Aurelis as a black-haired man could be seen drowsily making his way over towards a barricaded area at the end of the road.

"U-Ugh..." Rubbing his eyes tiredly as he reached the restricted area, Jace lazily entered it. "Man, I still can't get used to always waking up so early for this..."

"Oh, good morning, Jace." As the young man silently complained to himself, a tall old man approached him. "You've arrived just on time."

"Huh?" Upon noticing the approaching man before him, Jace's attention turned his way. "Oh... Uh, good morning... Toriq?"

"Aha, that is indeed my name," he chuckled in reply. "I'm glad you remembered it. How have you been? It's been a while since I've last seen you. I've heard that over the past week, Master Landon and you have been going out to dungeons non-stop."

"Ah, right..." Jace yawned. "We've been on quite a streak. Today unfortunately continues it."
