July 5, 2013.
I was finishing fixing my makeup, I would go out today to look for my title, it was my right.
Mom and dad will stay to finish organizing dinner, they weren't having a great time but they were doing it for me, honestly just thinking that they were doing it out of obligation felt bad, but dad told me that they were doing it out of love, not because of obligation.
I calmed down a bit, some time later I was totally ready to go to school to look for my degree with the other papers that they should give me, I left my room going down the stairs, came to the living room and I see that everything is looking beautiful.
"Parents, I'm going to go, see you in a while!" I say as soon as I leave the house.
"Colette! Daughter!" I hear my father yelling.
I turn around and see him walking towards me, he smiled approaching him, I look at him attentively, he is happy I see it in his eyes.
"Tell me dad, I'm late." I say smiling.
"I never thought that your graduation would be like this, I want you to know that I will not allow the university graduation to be the same. I love you so much, daughter, that I will not allow you to deny me when you see yourself walking in an auditorium so that your title can be given to you." For the first time I see my father cry.
I look at him attentively and sadly at the same time, I know it was hard and it was stronger to tell him that we would not go to my graduation.
"Forgive me dad, I will not do it again. That I promise you, ok? I will give you the joy of seeing me in an auditorium, you are the best dad of all, I love you." I tell him, sobbing with him.
"I want to see you triumphing daughter, you were my only daughter and you have made me the proudest father in the whole world, I feel sincerely happy and fulfilled. Promise me that you will go far." dictates a promise that I am able to fulfill.
"I promise you dad." I hug him tightly, and he to me too.
I give him a big kiss on his cheek, he clears me and I feel a pressure on my chest, so strong that it leaves me worried.
When my father enters the house, I go to the neighbor.
"Neighbor, how are you?" He asks politely.
"Well and your Colette?" Responds kindly.
"Fine thanks. You can tell Gabo to come to my house in a little while for my celebration, I'm going to go out but I'm coming. "I commented while she nodded.
"Okay, I'll tell you. Congratulations Colette, congratulations." I smiled nodding my head.
Gabo was my friend, he had down syndrome but he was so intelligent that I was surprised that he had that condition, he was very special to me, so I invited him to my celebration.
After that I went directly to the school to look for my degree, they gave it to me quickly and they gave me other papers. I sighed happy and nostalgic, I left there like a lightning bolt, I just didn't want to go in to see the event, I don't belong there.
"We attend the best average of the 50 generation, a pleasant pleasure to have had them with us. Please Saabagh Bastián, come up on stage." I heard that perfectly, I wanted to run from the place immediately.
I didn't want to see him, or be seen. I ran like a coward, but that would soon get better. Time passed and I was still inside the bus waiting for it to leave me on the avenue where the urbanization where I live is.
The sky was so off that I was scared, I knew it would rain but I didn't mind going to school to look for my degree, which is why I tried so hard. I was still on the bus that would drop me off near my house, although not so close because I would have to walk a few blocks.
My parents stayed at home to finish arranging some things to celebrate, I was very grateful for my mother Rose's intention towards me.
I arrive at my destination, I press the button for him to stop, when he does so he canceled the driver and immediately I get out of the bus, I start walking straight towards the urbanization where I live, first comes the urbanization hope, then breezes and for last the brotherhood where my house is located.
I feel so cold, the sky does not give truce, it is still dark and it seems it will rain less than I expected.
"Good Lord!" He huffed loudly when he saw some drops fall.
I could not run anyway I would get wet, so I keep my title well and I am grateful at this moment that the director placed it wrapped in a special plastic. I keep it well and I start walking faster, I would get wet anyway but I would hasten my step towards my house.
About three patrols pass by with their sirens blaring, then two ambulances pass. It was rare that so many more emergency entities arrived in these urbanizations that are private and people are very calm. I didn't pay much attention to that, I continued on my way but if I liked being given a lift it was a little far and it was drizzling.
I kept walking and the sky darkened even more and with that came more rain.
"Damn!"
I started jogging to get to my house faster, this was really a nightmare and I was not liking it at all.
Again I saw the ambulance that had passed minutes later, I turned to his direction when he finally reached the urbanization, he rang the front door bell through the front door, the guard realizes that I am here and looks at me strangely.
He opens the door for me and his face is worrying.
"Miss Weston, what are you doing here?" She looked at him strangely and ignored him.
"I live here." I say curtly and continue on my way.
I see too much commotion down my street, the rain is still raging and people don't care.
But I feel weird, everyone looks at me and I don't understand why. The patrols are present as they are closer to my house and there is the other ambulance that I had seen minutes ago.
Thick drink, would the kitchen explode? Did mom cut her finger? And if so, why all the fuss?
I hear shouts, prominent from a woman, I still side the crowd and it is my house to which the police are escorting. I keep walking but slower, I no longer pay attention to the rain and that's when I hear that heartbreaking cry from that woman again.
And that's when my world begins to fall, my aunt Tatiana was my father's sister and next to her is my cousin Tamara in the same fetal position as her mother.
Something bad happened.
"Please, everyone go home!" A police officer shouts. "All those who are still here at the crime scene will be fined."
I understood everything, something bad happened. The only thing I did was run towards my house, several policemen tried to stop me but they could not and I ran as if my life depended on it, I needed to know that everything was fine, so I wanted to verify it with my own eyes. It happened so fast, the room was totally unpleasant and the worst was not that.
