Chapter 55

The drive was silent at the beginning till I decided to enlighten the mood with music. I turned the music on and the first song to play was Annie Marie's 2002. It was one of my favorite songs that always help me to calm down whenever the hallucinations wanted to start and it seemed he liked it too.

"Do you like it?", I asked him and he nodded.

"Really? I didn't know you will like a song like this."

"And why would you think that?", he questioned.

"Because you are a guy and guys don't really like such emotional songs", I said not too sure of it.

"Well, I can say I'm different from other guys in that aspect", he said making us giggle.

"So you like songs that portray emotions?"

"Yeah. It helps me a lot "

"How does that help you?"

"We are here", he said getting me confused. I was asking him a question and he said 'we are here'. I felt the car stop in front of a park.

'Was that what he meant by we are here?',

It was a beach he brought me to. I really loved the beach but I never told him that so how did he find out or maybe that's his best place too.

"Shall we?", he asked getting my attention back to him.

"Yeah. Sure", I answered and got out of the car. I felt so happy being at the beach that moment because my parents stopped taking me to the beach when I turned ten.

We walked for a while before getting to the banks of the sea. I really miss the view of the beach.

"How did you know I love the beach?", I asked him.

"That's the only place one could get the peace of mind to think so I just love being here", he answered.

"Can you swim?", was the next question to him.

"Do you want us to try it?"

"No no, just look at my outfit.", I said pointing myself.

"Let's just sit here", he said removing his shoes. We sat in the sand together admiring what nature has given us. We enjoyed the view in silence till a thought crossed my mind.

'Should I talk to him about the transplant or wait fo the right time? What if he gets angry at me for reading his result?', I thought not knowing it was obvious on my face I was deep in thoughts.

"What are you thinking?", he asked surprising me. I turned to see him looking at my face as if there was something on my face. While thinking of the answer to give him, he touched my face jolting me.

"Your face is burning", he said.

"I'm sure it the sun", I finally found my voice to speak.

"Do you want us to go back?"

"What? No, we just got here. Let's go for a walk instead ", I suggested and he agreed.

"Ash.", he called my name trying to hold my hand.

"Mmm"

"Do you feel uncomfortable like this?", he asked but I didn't know how to answer that question. Honestly speaking, I wasn't feeling scared rather, I felt safe at the moment.

"I'm okay. Why do you ask?"

"Just wanted to be sure so I don't make any mistake "

"Don't worry about me, I'm fine now…I think", I was fast enough to add the last part because I wasn't so sure of myself.

"If you say so. Can I ask you a question?", even though I wasn't sure of what he wanted to ask, I was already feeling nervous but I wanted to know what he wanted to ask.
