Legend Of The Demon Goddess Selene

This story is for the audacious. If you like happy endings, cheesy romances and family comedies then turn away. This is not the book for you. This reveals a dark history that was erased and I shall reveal no matter the cost. Still want to read it? *smirk

Affinity What?

I placed my hand on the testing gem with my eyes closed and then I heard a crack followed by multiple gasps. I opened my eyes and saw the testing gem cracked the shocked and confused faces around me. When the examiner said that due to a malfunction my test will be retaken. Everyone sighed in relief but my mum had a regretful expression.

I placed my hand on the new gem and…. Nothing. The examiner told me to do it again but nothing happened. Some people in the audience yelled to announce my score. The examiner's answer shook the entire room. "Affinity Zero!" The auditorium broke into whispers. Awful words that they said all reached my ears. 2 words made me from the loved child to yesterday's trash in seconds. They didn't just target me but also my mother but this time I could say nothing or even move off the stage. My dreams, my friends, my world had vanished. I was 'zero'. My mother told the people to shut up as she took me off the stage.

When we got home. My mum hugged me as I wailed in her arms the rest of the day. After that I locked myself in my room never stepping out. No matter what my mum tried to entice me with, I sat like a statue in my room eating and drinking to live a pointless life. The cruel words of the people who once doted on me rang in my head. As a year passed this way.

One day my mum didn't come to give me food. It had been a while since she came around. I was worried about her so I went downstairs. What greeted me was my mothers pale hagrid face on the kitchen floor with my food and water. I ran to her side and tried to help her but without training or nutrition my body was weak. I called everyone I knew. Some ignored me, some taunted me but 1 came to my help.

It was Dillon. She was my childhood friend and even came to comfort me a few times over the past year. Thanks to her parents, my mother was brought to the hospital. I held my head with my hand feeling terrible for how I treated her. I was then met with Dillon's comfort. I apologised to her continuously while in tears.

The doctor then came and informed us that my mother was fine but needed rest as she overworked herself which made me even more guilty. Dillon offered to stay with her but It was time that I started living again. I finally realised the reason too. The people who truly love me for who I am are the ones I should work for. I then made an announcement to my mum who was lying on the bed. "...
