Chapter 5: Meggido Empire

I entered the room and looked around me,

there are guards everywhere,

marble pillars and carved walls,

a room which screams "Throne Room".

Sitting in the middle of the room is the Empress,

I kneel down and try to observe proper etiquette,

the maids taught me the proper etiquette of greeting the Empress in the throne room,

The Empress with a soothing voice says,

"You may raise your head"

The Empress has red glistening hair and brown eyes, with a youthful face and a soothing voice.

I raise my head and greet the Empress,

"I am grateful to see the Empress, and I thank you for allowing me to greet you, my name is Aimer, a Laplace Magician candidate."

"As for where you are living, and your necessities, the Empire will provide them all. You are to study magic at 「 Laplace Magician Academy 」 along with the Laplace Magician candidates." the Empress replied,

After explaining everything the Empress dismissed me out of the throne room,

The Laplace Magician Academy is the academy where all the Laplace Magician candidates and high ranking nobles study,

and I will be studying there..

I'm so excited!

While I was waiting for the new semester to start,

I had been leaving the dormitory to take a stroll in the town,

there are magic performers on the side of the road and familiars walking around with their summoners,

It is still medieval though..

I didn't like using the toilets because you literally just do your business in a concrete chair with a hole in the middle and you can barely see the ground when you peek in the ditch..

I got used to it when I was just an infant,

The life expectancy of humans is very low since it's so unsanitary,

though I was improving the sanitation in the dormitory,

The Empire gives candidates, food, allowance, dorms and other necessities so I don't have to worry about any of that,

I am studying ahead when the curriculum books were given to us by the Empire,

I found out that there was creation magic which advanced magicians can use,

I tried following all of the steps but it wont work,

though the steps are unclear I managed to replicate the process..

The first thing I made was pure alcohol,

I tried mixing the pure alcohol to make Isopropyl,

It was a success and i made a dispenser using earth magic to create wooden levers,

the medical technology in this world to discover what germs were,

rejuvenation magic can heal sickness so it seems to have slowed down medicinal progress..

By the time I mastered the creation magic I made to improve my quality of life, the first semester was about to start..

I created a porcelain toilet with a flush which goes directly into my own sewers leading to the waste bin I created and made a sewing machine to seam my clothing and I made chairs using earth magic, I figured out last month that I can use a slightly different wavelength to warp the wood but I haven't seen anyone using it..

It might be the first time someone was using wood magic since the books never mentioned it,

I might need to keep quiet about it so I wont stand out..

I finished studying the books and skimming through the material,

Mana is derived from your soul power,

the more soul power the faster it regenerates with it increasing your mana pool,

the passing days have been so fast I forgot my birthday was 1 week ago..

The dorm mother seems to worry about me because I sometimes don't stop studying even through the night,

Through my calculations and the discovery mana has weight it is possible to fly,

now I just need to find the right wavelength to send through my feet..

I fall a lot of times but I never give up,

but eventually I figured out the right wavelength to fly!

My body feels so light and I can control the speed by giving it more mana,

the maximum speed I can go up to is 700 miles per hour,

while lasting only a day at that speed,

it doesn't sound like a lot but it's using up metric loads of mana,

I can't seem to break the sound barrier and reach the speed of 800 miles per hour,

my body doesn't feel any wind pressure because of the amount of mana being propulse myself with, so it is safe to assume that speed won't harm my body..

The locals were spreading rumors that a creature was flying in the sky,

good thing they couldn't see anything because I was just going too fast, I don't want to get any attention so I should avoid flying above the streets..

I am trying to find if I can make or imitate presence hiding magic or just invisibility so I can fly all I want,

when the new semester was starting in just one day I made a breakthrough and I could finally use presence hiding magic,

I finally made my third special magic, and got to the level of Divine magician at the age of 6, which was the 5th stage of 7 stages an magican can rank up to..

1 day later it's the start of the new semester,

I am looking forward to my first day!
