Chapter: 15

Meanwhile, seeing that the vampire was about to be caught by the wizard, Richard was talking with Sniffy of what to do.

"Sniffy can you use your magic to free the vampire from the body binding curse?

Sadly, I cannot do the counter curse because I have not learned it yet." Asked Richard her and was writing learning the Anti Curses on his to mentally to do list.

"I can do that and free him of the constraints but I am not sure that we will be able to deal with the foreign wizard. The spells that he was casting earlier, although not many lethal ones, were way above our league.

He may be much weaker than the likes of Voldemort, but we may not be able to do anything to him and I propose that we should stay hidden and use some other method to rescue him. It will be bad if this wizard is made aware of our existence."

Said Sniffy to Richard in a concerning tone and advised him while making some suggestions.

Richard listened to her and thought. 'She is right, we are in a foreign country and don´t know anything about its magical community. It would be way above stupid to show ourselves to the wizard. We need some kind of distraction and I think we have the right kind of distraction at hand.'

After he made sure that his plan should work, he then got out of his thoughts and said to Sniffy while he took 2 little balls out of his pouch. One was a little bigger than the other one and both were grey in color.

"I will distract him and when you see the opportunity can you apparate us to the vampire and after that apparate us three to the forest outside of Rome?"

Sniffy looked at Richards eyes and saw a determined look there that told her that he would do everything he could to safe this young vampire. He was the kind of person that would do everything he could, if he saw someone in need and thought he would be able to come out unharmed.

It was the same at the night of the fight of Voldemort. She was straight against it to watch the fight of one of the strongest people in the current world, but he would not listen to her. It was almost like he thought that this was some kind of game and did not think too much of things that could go wrong.

Not waiting for Sniffy to answer him and looking at the wizard that had now almost reached the vampire and was about to get about to reach him. Richard then took his 2 balls and threw them towards the wizards feet but aimed a meter away from them since he was not sure if the shockwave thingy was still active or not. Therefore, he played safe.

The bald wizard was now almost in reach of the caught vampire and was about to touch him and apparate away with his captured prey.

Suddenly he noticed a ball flying in his direction and turned around to face his new unknown foe and to avoid said flying objects.

Richard saw this and began to sweat a little, all it took the balls to get to their destination was only a short second but he was able to sense them and turn around in this little timespan. He silently thanked Sniffy that he did do nothing more hot headed than this and was going with the safest method he could think of in this short moment.

The two balls now hit the ground and white smoke filled the whole area they were in and all that it took was only a split second.

After the wizard realized what had happened, he got his wand ready and at the same time he started to cast a spell, he was then hit with the worst smell he ever smelled which in turn interrupted his casting.

These two balls were a dung bomb and a smoke bomb. Richard bought them at a joke shop inside diagon alley after he remembered the fight James Potter had against Voldemort. He thought that it would be of great help in the form of a distraction and bought quite a few of them.

At the same time, Sniffy apparated with Richard to the side of the vampire and he also got his invisibility cloak over the vampire to be on the safe side and to stay completely hidden.

That took at most a second and then they apparated away and appeared inside a forest in the outskirts of Rome. They had found this place a week ago while touring through the city.

This forest was quite silent and only the sounds of animals could be heard inside it.

It was quite the relaxing place and Richard loved to do a bit of training in here every day. He was quite used to his routine and after a week of doing nothing but relaxing, he could not stand it anymore and did resume his physical training.

Anyway, looking around and seeing that nothing was out of place they separated from the vampire and Richard used a spell on him.

It was a spell he learned a year ago and he thought it would come in handy someday. The spell was a shackling spell. It let appear some ropes out of thin air and they began to bind the target. Seeing that the vampire should be quite strong he used the spell twice and the vampire was now safely secured on the ground.

"Sniffy can you undo the binding curse now? He should not be able to break the ropes apart and even if he manages that, we are under the invisibility cloak and he should not be able to find as at all.

But to be on the safe side you can apparate us onto a tree?"

"Yes, no problem at all. I am also quite interested in this vampire. I hope he will thank us and tell us something rather than trying to run away or attack us."

Sniffy answered and apparated them away onto a tree and after that she undid the body binding curse with a snip of her fingers.

Richard got quite used to the abrupt feeling of being shoved inside a little hole in his abdomen and then squeezed out of it in the next instant. He now was completely fine after apparating. It took him a few years to shake of this feeling of discomfort but now it felt kind of nice.

Not knowing on how the situation changed in a few seconds and feeling that he was now only bound by some ropes and that he was in no immediate danger the vampire shouted loudly.

"I don´t know if I should thank you for rescuing me from the baldy or curse you for kidnapping me. What do you want?" but on the inside he was thinking:

' What the hell is going on today? At first, I was going on a trip to Rome and look around the city and do some sightseeing and to relax a bit, but then out of nowhere I was attacked by this baldy wizard.

I do know from my father that the vampires and wizards are no enemies. So why did he decide to attack me?

Also, I was hit by the feeling of sudden weakness because I have not fed for too long. I used to much power when sneaking out, I did not consider that. I kind of miss home right now. I was almost captured by this weird wizard which I could not attack in close range and then I was kidnapped by someone else.'

While the vampire was lost in thought, Richard cast another spell that let his voice appear at a certain point he wanted to inside a 20-meter radius. The spell was in the same school as the Sonorus charm and was called the Illud charm.

He then said through the charm that also altered his voice a little, to not let the vampire know his real voice. "I guess you should thank me because I just have rescued you. And for the harsh treatment I am sorry but I don´t know if you would attack me at the moment where I would release you, therefore the ropes. Just some precaution.

I have no bad intentions and am quite curious if you could answer a few of my questions."

The vampire answered in a now calmer manner than before, since he found no hostility inside the voice after he thought.

'What a joke, how would I be able to attack someone I don't know a thing about and can´t even find.

That would be more then dumb and only a fool would act like this. I guess that he is only cautious of me because he doesn't know anything about vampires. Let´s see what he will ask.'

"I can give you my word that I wish no harm to you or will attack you, if you don't attack me that is.

We vampires have usually not that much to do with wizards, therefore I don't know to much about them but I will do my best to answer your questions. By the way my name is Kyle."

Kyle said that in a calm and collected manner and Richard got the feeling that Kyle was being truthful. He had no cunning side to him and looked completely harmless now after he felt no immediate threat anymore.

Richard then relaxed a bit as well and said. "It's my pleasure to meet you Kyle, I will tell you my name in a bit if this conversation goes well. Here is my first question.

Can you tell me a bit about you vampires? I have almost no knowledge of your race and would like to know more from you."

Kyle got into his thoughts for a bit but after thinking that he would be able to find out this commonly known knowledge if he visited some magical library, he then explained:

" We vampires are an old race that came into being in the middle ages, if the texts are being truthful and there are 3 types of vampires, or mainly 2 but that's not wholly true.

The first type or the falsely believed one is, the weakest one and is wrongly called a vampire. It is no vampire and it is only a mindless creature that wants to feed on blood. It came into being at the experiments of some old wizards that experimented with vampires and how to recreate their immortality.

The creature that was created is now falsely known as a vampire and this misconception gives us true vampires a really bad name and people fear us because of this misconception.

We call these creatures Feeders, because they only live to feed. With every person they feed on and that survives their act of feeding, they then will also turn into one of them in the span of days.

Usually, the Feeders will drain all of the blood of their victims and because of that they are not too much of a threat. They also can only move at night, because the sun will kill them and they only are twice as strong as normal humans.

We tried to wipe them out, but even after centuries of searching and killing them, they still live on to the present day.

The second type of vampires are the normal Vampires. They are mostly born of other vampires and it is really rare that they will turn a human into a vampire. That also only works with given consent of the human and a full day of suffering when their whole being is changed into a vampire.

All born vampires are growing up like normal humans but stop aging after 19 years and stay in this form forever. That is the only difference from turned humans. The day a human is changed into a vampire is also the day he stops aging.

Their bodies of Vampires are a lot stronger than normal humans and because they are immortal, they can constantly train and improve their muscles. The strongest of the normal vampires is said to be able to move at a speed that other normal vampires cannot even follow.

They also do not fear the sun or other believed ailments like garlic.

They live a normal life in most cases and some even stay inside the normal world and they grew accustomed to living like part of the community.

The only downside to their existence is, that most of them grow bored of living for too long and after some time they then decide that it is time to move on, to their next journey and they search for a nice place to die.

They also eat like every normal person and are also able to feed on magic.

They don't need blood like the Feeders.

Another problem that they have in common with the third type of vampires is their reproduction rate. It is abysmal and most of the vampires will at most be able to bear 2 children in their whole live.

They are also only able to turn a maximum of 2 normal people to vampires, because it will use their lifeforce to change them and if they try it a third time, they would die a very painful death.

That facts constrict us vampires a lot but we cherish our time on this planet and live quite well.

The third type of vampires is a bit stronger than the normal ones. They are the nobility of the vampires. In every vampire community exists only one family that is of noble grade and they are in most cases the leaders of said community.

They can mate with other vampires to let their genes carry on to the next generation and no such a thing as inbreeding is tolerated there.

Not like I heard from some magical communities. They only think with their small brains and all they think is that they all need to be all related to each other and it is the only rightful thing to do.

What a bullshit thing to think and then to discriminate other people who don´t support their ways. What time do we live in? The last century or what?

I found in our libraries many books which describe the fact that magic was in the world since a long time ago and some humans are born with this energy and are therefore able to use it.

The bond is a bit stronger if a person that is able to use magic, mates with another person and they conceive a child.

Every child which is born to two wizards will be able to use magic. But if too much inbreeding happens over time, then such a thing like squibs will become more and more common.

My community has tried to warn them but they were seen as non-believers and were chased away.

I do hope that will enlighten you a bit about us and about some shortcomings of the common believe in the wizarding world."

Richard and Sniffy listened attentively to the speech Kyle gave them and Richard then found an error in his thinking.

'I thought magical people could only come into being when 2 magical people or 1 magical and one non-magical being had children. But it seems that this should not be the case at all and magical people can get born from 2 non magical people which doesn't need to involve squibs. Even if the chance is much lower it still should be able to happen.

I had assumed that all non-magical children should be birthed from some squib lines that were kicked out of their families for not being able to use magic, but if Kyle is right than my previous thinking was wrong.

I got this information from some fan-fiction and thought that it seemed legit when I thought about it.

It should be true that many magical people should be born from squib lines because they have a little stronger bond towards magic and after their gene defects got less and less over time, their magical bond should have become stronger. Therefore, many muggleborns should be related to magical families.

But there should also be a lot of muggleborns that were just lucky and they have a better bond with magic, since it has happened more naturally to them.

This also should have happened to the first generation of wizards and witches. Like Merlin and LeFey.

It was said that they were at the epitome of magical prowess and after them came the 4 founders that were also really strong.

I should research that more in depth in the future, maybe I can even have a look into the library of the vampires.

And I should think a bit more about what is true and false, I cannot use information of fan fictions without researching their validity.

From the way Kyle was speaking the whole time, I should assume that he is a noble one and in conclusion that vampire families only have two children, he should be one really important person.'

Richard then answered after a few seconds in silence.

"Thank you for this information, that helped me a lot to understand the ongoing at your side and it really bugs my why this wizard wanted you alive.

Can you assure me that you will not harm me because I am also a wizard? I have no bad intentions as I stated beforehand and just want to know this world a bit better."

Kyle thought at this for a bit and since he saw nothing that seemed to be off about this wizard, he said.

"I guess I am at your mercy, therefore I have not much to lose and you did not do anything to hurt me. I guess that I should give you the benefit of the doubt and put a bit of trust into you to show my sincerity.

I, Kyle Child of Night, swear on my live that I won´t harm you if you don´t mean any harm to me. If I break this vow then I will be losing my powers for an extended period of time."

Kyle swore this oath after thinking. 'The only thing left that I have is my trump card but I better let it unused. I do hope that it does not come to the point that I have to use it.'

Hearing that Kyle took a vow and after Sniffy said to Richard that the magic had approved it, he put his cloak down and asked Sniffy to move them towards the floor as they were currently sitting on a tree.

Kyle saw them appear a few meters in front of himself was shocked when he found out the age of Richard and Sniffy. He did not expect two such young ones.

Richard put his hand in front of himself and swished it a little and the ropes vanished without any trace, while he was doing that he said to Kyle.

"Its nice to formally meet you Kyle, I am Richard and this here is Sniffy. You have proved to me that I can put a bit of my trust into you and I am sorry for all the bindings and stuff but I did not know what kind of person you were."

Richard said in a sincere tone and introduced themselves.

After done with that he held his hand towards Kyle who was still lying on the floor.

Realizing that he was no longer bound by the ropes, he then took Richard's hand who helped him up with it and said in a sincere tone:

" It's a pleasure to meet you and thank you for saving me. Not anyone would have had the guts to step in to help me."

Sniffy also nodded to him with a face full of caution besides Richard while she looked at Kyle.
