“Kneel,” she said. Daisuke handed her something silver.

I knelt. Yuriko stood in front of me. “You were Micheleen Raymond until this day,” she said. “From this minute forward, you will be Michiko Kuroki. Michiko: the beautiful, wise child. You have shown your wisdom by coming here today and committing yourself to this new role. Your wisdom will continue throughout your dorei as you morph into this new life. You will live obediently to the needs around you. You have signed a contract and agreed to be my dorei. You are now the property of Joō-sama Yuriko Kuroki. Will you serve me well, to the very best of your ability?”

“Hai,” I said. I nodded.

“Then, as a symbol of your vows to be my dorei and my vows to keep you safe and nurture your life, I have this.” Yuriko held out a solid silver collar. She slipped it around my neck. As she flattened it onto my throat, I felt the touch of her hand and myself falling into that submissive abyss. “Will you be my faithful dorei?” she asked.
