Dungeon [2]

The following day, Arya and other members of their party get ready to venture into the dungeon. Most of the injuries Munda had were already healed.

So, they started heading towards the underground dungeon. After Reaching that particular tree Arya pulled the root.

They jumped in a similar arrangement as the last time after entering the tunnel they walked towards the dungeon. After reaching the Open area they saw marks of blood.

As if a bloody body had been dragged towards the tunnel from where they came from. As it was dark, they were not able to notice, this when arriving.

"Should we really, enter this dungeon?" They heard a question, and Arya found this voice unfamiliar. He checked around to find who asked this question.

This question was from Muniya, the quiet girl and this was the first time Arya heard her voice.

"This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, we can't let it get to waste. And the body of the kobold must be dragged by some other kobold. Like, How can't other kobolds possibly know of this dungeon? Maybe they just don't know what this is."Setanta replied to Muniya.

After this little argument, they started heading toward the dungeon.

So they entered their regular formation, First Munda after Arya entered both the Archers, Setanta and Muniya and, lastly Anaya entered.

While passing through the Dungeon Arya and others felt like they passed through a thick liquid layer. And as soon as they exit they Gasp for oxygen. As if they hadn't breathed in a while.

After getting their mind sorted, they decided how to proceed in the dungeon.

[You have entered the dungeon 'The Kobolds Tomb.]

Arya turned towards Setanta and asked.

"So what are we supposed to do in this dungeon?"

"Well, The dungeon is always filled with monsters whom we had to kill and there is one final boss monster who will be of maybe 'Awakened' category."

This caused others to be shocked while confusing to a certain someone.

"Ahh, Setanta what are these 'Awakened' categories?," Arya asked Setanta.

Now this time it was others who were shocked as how can one not even know the category of monster?

While this question caused Setanta to facepalm himself, Remembering that Arya doesn't even have basic knowledge of this trial and the 'Jambo Dvipa' world.

"Well, you know both humans and monsters have various ranks, as they grow stronger they reach this rank?"

To which Arya nodded as this was basic knowledge, as even the mayor in their town was a 'low Ranker'.

After seeing the nod Setanta released his breath that he didn't even know, he was holding as this is the knowledge even small children knew.

"Well so beast to have this category of rank like humans, but they also have another category that is based on evolution."

"These levels are 'Dormant', 'Awakened' and 'Ascended'."

"A 'Dormant' level beast is a simple average beast of the species with their 'Tantra'. then comes the 'Awakened' level these beast mutates and get another sub-ability of their 'Tantra' and are usually the leaders of their tribe. The possibility of having an awakened beast is one in a hundred thousand"

"Then there's 'Ascended' If Awakened is one in a hundred thousand. Then there are one in a hundred million as they evolved to a better version of their race and learn new 'Tantra' and their future generation of these creatures will be of the newer species and thus forms a better version of their species."

After explaining the ranks to Arya, Setanta told other party members about Arya not knowing even the basic knowledge about the world, and after knowing the reason they could only shake their heads.

After all these talks, they started discussing the formation they were going to make.

After a few minutes of discussion, they decided to make an arrow formation, focused on offensive power.

So, after the discussion, everyone took their position. Munda the tank, at the front of the arrowhead to attract, following behind him were Anaya and Arya, and at the end of the arrowhead were Sentata and Muniya.

Inside the dungeon, it was a cave-like structure with only a single way towards the front though the way was dimly lit by some unknown source.

So, they started moving in the only direction available.

After walking for a long time, they came across their first enemy. It was a skeleton, but not a human being. But a lizard creature with its skull was like a lizard.

The monster after noticing the humans. Started running directly towards them. Just as the monster reached the party, Munda used his shield to receive the attack while Arya attacked it with a downward slash.

After taking the slash the monster got destroyed. Then Setanta mentioned from the back.

"I think this is an undead beast dungeon, with Kobold's skeleton being the monster as the name of the dungeon is also Kobold's tomb"

This made perfect sense as they were in the kobold territory and the undead have many similarities to a kobold.

Like this, they come across many such undead, but only the first one is alone. While the others were in a group. It must be their instincts as kobolds usually hunt in groups in the forest. So, even after death, they are venturing into groups.

So, they headed more and more towards the center killing all the mobs they came across. They faced two types of skeletons. One that must be of the normal kobold while one that is larger than the rest, and also the leader of the kobold skeleton party.

Beasts have a hierarchical system, where weaker ones act as soldiers, stronger than them were the generals or commanders while the awakened ones like kings if they had one in the colonies.

So after defeating many of these parties, they reached in front of a colossal gate.

In front of the gate, they stopped, as Setanta is the leader and also the most knowledgeable person, they turned towards him.

He understood their question and replied, "Yep I too think this is the boss room. So, our strategy will be the Diamond formation. But Munda you have to be careful as I think we will face the king of Kobold and he will have his second ability of their 'Tantra'."

After listening to Setanta, Munda got tensed but still cheered himself up. And replied.

"I got this!"

Then they formed their diamond formation that they used outside in the forest to hunt As they would be fighting only the boss, and monster it would be the perfect formation.

Then they opened the get and entered the Boss room. At first, it was very dark but then, the torches lit across the room, it was a circular room with a high ceiling, and directly in front of them was the stone throne.

On that throne was a kobold skeleton sitting, but there were few differences from a normal kobold.

It was around 7 feet tall and had two horns on its head while on its back were bones forming wings. This kobold was looking directly towards them.

"So this is what an Awakened beast looks like, huh?!" Arya asked no one in particular while tightening his hand around his spear handle.

Listening to this statement from Arya made others come out of their trance and get their weapon ready.

After seeing the intruders and their weapons, the kobold king as if accepting their challenge held the big club, which was adjacent to his throne.

With the club, He came down from the throne and looked straight into the eyes of the party. Then he put that club on his bonny shoulder bent his knees and jumped straight towards them.

Arya and the party had been paying close attention to the beast since the beginning, just as he jumped Munda pressed his shield in the front and took a position by widening his legs to counter the momentum from the attack of the monster.

The kobold king reached Munda in less than two seconds and attacked with his club. To which Munda blocked, but still slid a few meters in the back.
