Gladiator(1)

As I approached the metal doors, the sound of a cheering crows intensified.

*CREEEK*

The metal door opened, revealing a strange sight.

A massive, hairy spider with red stripes over its dark body was carried by 2 guards.

However, The Spider's head was missing!

'That isn't a good sign!'

I didn't have any time to ponder how the spider ended up in such a condition, as The guard stepped through the metal doors!

We walked into a massive cage, and the cheering crowd surrounded us from all directions!

The only other being in the cage other than me and the guard was a tall and skinny dark-skinned elf.

He held an axe in his right hand and had a guily expression on his face.

As he raised his head to look at us, his expression changed drastically into shock.

The guard stopped walking forward and stepped back, climbing a ladder that Was right beside the door to get to a small platform that watched over the cage.

"Dear crowd, it is now time for us to introduce a slightly different opponent to our gladiator!"

An excited voice of a man resounded through the arena.

"Up until now, the gladiator has only faced earthbound opponents, however, we have now brought a flying opponent!"

The voice continued in its explanation as the crowd reacted with excitement.

"And not just a flying monster, dear crowd. We brought a member of one of the most dangerous species that rule the sky, A Skyeus!"

The crowd roared in excitement upon hearing this- a skyeus was a legendary monster that very few saw and lived to tell the tale.

That was because The Skyeus lived in the Nightmarish lands!

The Nightmarish land was a continent that was extremely strange! Not only was it filled to the brim with different creatures that would hunt you down mercilessly, but it was a moving continent!

The Nightmarish land would sometimes collide with other continents, causing them to be temporarily linked.

Such an event is known as a "Cataclysm"

It's usually considered a continent-wide disaster, and would often lead to adventurers gathering up together to combat the beasts of the Nightmarish land.

"Without further ado Dear crowd, let's begin the fight!"

Just as the man finished speaking, My cage's door slid up with a creeking sound!

I quickly ran out of the cage, not wanting to get cornered by my enemy.

"Also, dear crowd, in order to make this a bit more fair, we won't let the skyeus fly too high, and shoot it with a small shock gun if it reaches an altitude of above 5 Meters!"

I paled inside after hearing that announcement.

5 meters is a pretty small distance for a powerful species such us the elves, and even if the elf can't jump that high, he can definitely throw his axe!

As I circled towards the elf, he wore a serious expression.

"I greet a member of the skyeus."

The elf said in the demonic language which surprised me.

"I greet you too, elf."

I greeted him back, surprised that he could speak the demonic Language.

Weren't Elves creatures of holiness and light? The demonic Language name didn't sound particularly holy, that's for sure.

"We got ourselves in quite the predicament, didn't we?"

I tried to continue the conversation,as I was immensely curious about the elf.

"Indeed, worry not- I will not dare to fight a skyeus, I shall ask you to rid me of my misery and end my life today."

The elf said, with a sad expression and a monotone voice.

I was both surprised and not surprised.

I didn't expect that an elf, a creature so much in tune with nature, and known for their gentleness, to handle killing so many different creatures just to entertain the humans.

Seeing as I didn't respond, the elf continued.

"I also have on request for you, that I can't force you to do, But I ask you to with all my heart."

The elf said as his eyes passed through Me, looking somewhere far away, maybe his homeland, or a person he misses.

"Go on, elf."

I said a mere 3 words, but the elf seemed extremely relieved.

"Please, go back to my homeland after the song of the earth, and tell the king of my fate."

He asked with a begging expression, the crowd was getting bored! The colosseum's staff won't let them converse for long.

"And what is your name, elf?"

I asked him, after I decided to listen to his request.

Originally, I thought that it'd be stupid to begin traveling to far lands just because of somebody's request, but I didn't truly have a choice.

'Where would I go anyways?'

I asked myself- I didn't have any family members, at least not good ones, and the only friend I have gained in this world so far is the turtle.

'Maybe the Elven king can tell me how I can find other skyeus?'

I quickly thought.

Meeting other skyeus would definitely be an interesting experience.

"I am known as Serrien, the fourth prince."

The elf said, causing me to raise one of my eyebrows, well, metaphorically.

'A prince? How did a prince of such a well-known race end up in such a state?'

But I kept my questions to myself and nodded.

"Move, you oversized chicken!"

The guard began to shout at me, causing me to start flying up in the air.

I locked eyes with the sad elf, who wore an accepting smile as his eyes once again looked to a faraway land.

'Don't make it worse with such an expression, fool...'

It was hard for me to do it.

The elf was very young, still in his prime.

As an elven prince, I doubt he had any children- unlike humans, Elves weren't lustful, they only had children after solidifying their status.

And having children wasn't very easy for Elves.

"I will honor your request."

I said In a determined voice, causing the elf's face to brighten.

'I shall also destroy this kingdom, after getting enough power.'

I thought, joking around in my mind a bit.

'Just kidding, how will I destroy something that's already been destroyed? The song of the Earth won't have any mercy on them.'

In these few seconds, silence shrouded the arena, before me and the elf nodded at each other.

Flying forward quickly, I landed in front of the elf with a boom.

As me and the elf locked eyes, he dropped his axe.

The sound of the axe falling on the ground reverberated through the arena, as the Crowd watched intensly.

I opened my Mouth, revealing a dangerous and sharp set of teeth...

And ripped the elves head off his shoulders, in a quick, smooth biting motion.

I made sure the crush it immediately so that the elf won't suffer for longer than a Second.

Silence shrouded the arena as the crowd couldn't believe what they saw.

The famous gladiator of the arena, who had won countless fights in the arena, was defeated by a skyeus youngling on his second fight?

Amazing!

The crowd roared, as loud as ever.

Even the guard that took me here was flabbergasted, but quickly regained his composure.

I knew what to do, as I quickly stepped into the cage and sat down.

There wasn't any reason to try and escape, I was inside a massive cage surrounded by guards.

'At worst, I'll escape during the song of the earth!'

I thought to myself as the guard locked the Cafe door and placed it on the wheeled platform again.

As he walked me back to the cage room, he had a satisfied expression on his face, seemingly glad he didn't have to fight such a monster to get it in its cage.

Finally, he stopped before a room.

'Wait, that's not the room I want in before!'

I thought as the guard lifted my cage off the platform, and placed it in a conveniently-shaped hole in the door, pushing the cage into the room before locking the trapdoor.

Looking around, I found myself In a medium-sized room that could fit me comfortably, and there was even a layer of extremely thin wood for a floor!

Of course, that wasn't the best thing- Not even close.

The beat thing was....

'Meat! So much Meat!'

RIP elf, was nice meeting you.

Thanks for reading the chapter! I'm still learning about how to not fit the entire story in 7 chapters, but I think I made a visible improvement.
