Chapter 6

"I assume it was your assistant that called me?" Mei asked trying to conceal her fear.

"Please Miss Mei, you don't have to be afraid of me. I won't bite" Sebastian said mockingly as he sat down in the bed. "And yes, it was Carl that had called you. You seem to have a small problem in which I can fix. Are you fully aware I have many people to contact to have your problem solved in an instant?"

The man that was sitting in front of her was different from the Sebastian she once knew. She comforted herself thinking it was because of the accident Sebastian had. The Sebastian she knew isn't cold-hearted and direct to the point like the man that was standing in front of her.

"Yes, I'm fully aware. But what is the reason that you have stepped out and offer me a hand with my problem?"

"I don't like to go around with words, I'm more of a direct-to-the-point kind of person. So, Miss Mei, in order for me to help you, I'd very much like you to be my wife" his gaze was too sharp that she knew he was serious and yet, she let out a mocking laugh.

She stood up and decided to leave. Marry him? Is he out of his mind? His family would shred her and her brother to pieces the moment he introduces her to the entire family.

"I'm sorry, but you must be crazy. Although I am deeply honored by your offer, I must refuse. After all, the Black family is very hard to deal with" she said. She had experienced being ridiculed and humiliated by his entire family before and she didn't mind then, because back then, Sebastian was different from now.

But before she could even touch the door handle, Sebastian stood up and walked towards her.

"Miss Mei, after a thorough research on you, I must say, you don't have any option left on your plate because you are fully aware that your brother is hanging by a thread," Sebastian said.

She turned around and stared at him, long and hard. Trying to decipher what's on his mind, but she couldn't. Sebastian was not an open-book.

"Why me? Of all people, why me?" Mei sat back down since her interest in the new Sebastian has risen.

"Simple. You're a billionaire. My family really doesn't have any standard requirement. All they need to know is you're rich. I'm a man of a few words so Carl will be the one to explain to you about the details" Sebastian said and turned towards the door to leave.

"I'm sorry Mr. Black but if I'm going to accept this, I'd also like to have a condition. I'd like you to explain to me everything personally," Mei said. She was determined to let Sebastian know that she isn't a push-over. She was determined to let him know that she can stand on hard grounds. Because she wouldn't rise to a billionaire's status if she was a push-over.

Sebastian turned his head and looked at Mei. He grinned secretly. This woman sure is interesting.
