ONE STEP TO MY DREAM

(the scene opens with Jane dancing in her room when Henry walks in)

HENRY: you know if you want to keep your dance occupation a secret you need to practice locking your door.

JANE: says the person who walks into someone's room without knocking (looks at Henry) what do you want.

HENRY: lucky came to visit.

JANE: where is he?

HENRY: downstairs obviously (Jane heads towards the door Henry calls her back) change your clothes first if possible take a shower too.

JANE: (throws a pillow at him) get out!!

( Henry catches the pillow and laughs while heading for the door)

HENRY; (pause his steps and looks at jane) and dress properly his parents are with him you don't want to look bad in front of them do you?

JANE: fine fine now go away.

( Jane stands up from her bed and enters the bathroom to take a shower and get ready to meet the Chester's and her boyfriend lucky)

(meanwhile downstairs the Lakefields and Chesters are discussing the marriage of lucky and Jane when Jane comes in wearing a blue jean with a black crop top her hair was tied up in a messy bun...she was a real definition of real beauty)

MRS LAKEFIELD: Jane darling come sit with mother

(Jane sits down tries to make eye contact with lucky but fails)

MR LAKEFIELD: (looks at lucky) why don't you youngsters go elsewhere and have fun while we old folks talk about serious matters

Lucky: ok uncle (stands up and grab Jane's hand while leading her to the rose garden)

Jane: babe what do you think of me joining the Bei lan dance competition.

LUCKY: your still thinking about joining the dance field? and who told you about the competition.

JANE: I have my ways and yes I'm still thinking about it infact I have already made my decision to join the dance field with or without your agreement.

LUCKY: (pauses his step looks at Jane while holding her hands) I'm not against you joining the dance field but try and have a rethink, think about your reputation, what would people think if they found out that the daughter of the four richest family in city A is into dancing.

JANE: first of all lucky, I don't care what people think about me I don't even care what they have to say, I love dancing, it makes me happy why don't you understand (turns to leave but lucky stops her)

LUCKY: I understand but just have a rethink

JANE: I already made my decision if you want to be with team everybody else then the choice is yours.

LUCKY: fine fine I agree, I will ask jack to take you to his dance crew so u can rehearse with them and broaden your knowledge about dance.( lifts her face to look at him) are you happy now?

JANE: I'm very happy (hugs him) thank you for agreeing.

LUCKY: your welcome ( kisses her forehead)

(jane tries to kiss lucky when Henry walks up to them)

HENRY: hey lovebirds dinner is ready!!!

(Jane's face turns red from embarrassment)

LUCKY: (rolls his eyes) just great! and you just have to spoil the fun

HENRY: well sorry for spoiling your alone time but innocent and thoughtful people like me needs to eat.

(lucky tries to hit Henry's head but he dodge)

HENRY: Hey watch it, it takes hours to make this hair look perfect like me.

(Jane and lucky roll their eyes while Jane drags Henry into the house)

In the dinner table

(All the family members are sitted with Mr Lakefield at the head of the table, Mrs Lakefield sitting right beside him Mr and Mrs chester sitting beside each other, Jane and lucky sitting opposite each other while Henry sat at the other end)

MR CHESTER: (talks with Mr Lakefield) there is a contract my company has and we are in need of an investor are you interested?

MR LAKEFIELD: What is it about?

MR CHESTER: It is about building a city park, you know our city doesn't have much park.....(his wife cuts him off)

MRS CHESTER: This is the dinner table business talks can come in after dinner, right Mrs Lakefield?

MRS LAKEFIELD: You are right my dear, these men act like children sometimes.

(meanwhile under the table lucky stretches his leg towards Jane and touches her legs Jane is shocked and mistakenly hits the table which made everyone look at her)

HENRY: (understands what's going on and decide to tease Jane) what's wrong sister why is your face red are you having a fever.

Mrs Lakefield: Are u alright Jane dear, should I call the doctor

JANE: No mum I'm fyn

(Mrs chester hits Mrs Lakefield's elbow lightly they share a silent conversation and smile)

MRS LAKEFIELD: it's good both of you are like this, it means I will be seeing my grandchildren soon.

( Jane face turns red everyone laughs)

( After dinner the Chesters left for their home, Jane is seen on her bed talking to jack on the phone)

JACK: I never new my brother will agree,he is already smitten by you sister -in-law.

JANE: it was not that easy I had to use the emotional card, so what time am I coming to the dance class.

JACK : Around 12am I will come pick you up.

JANE: Alright then I'm sooo excited.

JACK: Good night Jane and please do have some sleep.

JANE: yh yh ( cuts the call and talks to her self) finally I'm one step closer to my dream, go me!!

( covers her self with the blanket and drift away to la la land with a smile on her face. In a hotel room lucky and Anna is hugging each other after their intimate activity)

ANNA: (looks at lucky) when are you going to break up with her I'm tired of meeting you in secret.

LUCKY: After I get married to her( Anna stands up from his body)

ANNA: you plan on getting married what about me.

LUCKY:( turns her face to look at him) let me finish after I get married to her I will divorce her and get half of her shares and properties (kisses her on the lips) I love you only you okay?

ANNA: ( Smiles) Alright i wait for you a little longer.
