I awoke with a start in the guest room of Blake’s pack house. It took me a moment to remember where I was and why I was here.
Suddenly, I heard a knock on the door, and I looked up to see a woman enter the room carrying a tray of hot food. She was a lovely woman, with dark hair and bright eyes, a warm smile on her face.
“Good evening, Miss, you slept the day away,” she said as she placed the tray on the table. I looked to the window of the room and saw that it was indeed night time. “Luna Grace sent this up in case you were hungry, but you don’t have to eat it if you don’t want to.”
My stomach rumbled in response, and I thanked her warmly before getting out of bed, eagerly going to the table and digging into the food. She watched me eat with a slight smile on her face before turning to the fireplace and adding a few logs. As she started to stoke the fire, Blake peeked his head around the door.
