It all began with first day

Ayanokouji Martial Arts School - 3rd Floor, Class 3-A Middle School - Morning.

Many girls wearing a white school uniform are of average height, some of them have long and short hair, most of them are light brown-skinned but some of them are white. They occurred constantly cheerful, normal, sweet but overall excited.

Noisy gossips, whispers, and mumble sound hearing from the classroom raising a lot of chattering from every room in the class. Few of them sitting at top of the chair table mumbling face to face, smiling, laughing, giggling while talking rapidly, and different people sitting against the chair table glaring eyes at books reading middle pages.

"Take a seat lads" Medium rolling sound from sliding door and Feminine, male teenager voice struck entire girls' right earshot causing loud gossip and chattering went speechless, turning their gaze towards the blackboard.

They glanced at the guy wearing a black hat, eyeglasses, and his same black attire he wore as yesterday, walking towards Instructor's desk, placing a book, notebooks, manuals, and an attendance pad bundle with a pen placed at the table.

Salcedo grabs a piece of chalk, writing a name allegedly sketching a tiny kanji against the chalkboard. Quiet gossips, hush pitches, and whispers trounce behind his ears. Some girls covering mouths, rolling their lens towards him.

"Why is the guy wearing a hat? Is it allowed inside a class?"

"I don't know, he looks kinda odd. Is he a businessman?"

"Why is he here? The guy looks foreign to me"

"Isn't that guy allowed in a girls' toji School?"

He puts one piece of chalk behind, Placing both hands at the table, glances at the entire class of middle school girls paused, and peered intently at the black-suited juvenile.

"Sit down and I'll discuss," Salcedo said in a soft tone, humping.

The girls relaxing their lower bodies towards their chair table quietly, gazing continuously at the blackboard.

"So, how do I start? Oh yeah, from this point on before I announced this, your academic president just gives me a job to work here at this... Toji school? Yeah? correct me if im wrong." He said, moving both hands around.

"Don't get me wrong here but aren't you be our teacher?" One female with short brown hair said, raising her right arm.

"Now's not the time. So let me finish." Salcedo answered, aiming his palms up and down at the female.

"as you can see here? I will be working for that lady who wears a red suit and I don't know what her name is. She told me that I... Will be working here."

"Is that guy serious?" A girl with a blue ponytail asked, still glaring at the male teenager.

"I had no idea. He is foreign to me but he speaks Japanese." One girl said, looking paused quizzically

"So from this moment on... As you said, I will be your acting student teacher starting today." Salcedo announced, lifting his eyeglasses

The entire female class's eyes widened and jaws dropped to the floor as their eyebrows shot to the ceiling, most of them narrowed one bit, raising one of their eyelids quizzically.

"So the only primary subject I have to learn is English. Just English and no other subject. That's all there is." Salcedo told the girls, grabbed the attendance pad above the notebooks, open the first page.

"So I will now take attendance. Num-" Salcedo's sentence cut short when one female sitting next to a window on the back row raised her hand, stood up from her chair.

"Wait a second teach or whatever your name is?" A girl with long, light grey hair clapped.

"Alvarez Salcedo" He introduced, looking at the girl, dazed.

"Our president didn't tell us who our teacher is? So why did she hire one guy like you?" A girl with light grey hair exclaimed.

"You mean Souraku-san?" He asked

"Don't act like you forgot to teach. We just take more time to get used to your appearance. Our president didn't ask someone to hire you as an English teacher" One girl with short, narrow hair argued, felt like she wanted him to replace him.

"Then why don't tell her after class. After all, she already made preparations before I stepped into this classroom. Please get used to it" Salcedo sighed, lifting his pen at the attendance pad.

The rest of the girls get their teeth and fists clenched, unsatisfied in disbelief.

"Now let's roll call shall we?"

Teacher's room

Flipping pages, gusting sounds from an electric fan, flipping pages, and sketching can be heard In the office. Salcedo focused his eye on the first written page of the attendance pad containing all names of middle school girls from his class after debuting appearance behind the blackboard a few hours later.

"Just 19 attendance of the middle school class. Just an introduction and a few lessons. Nothing else." Salcedo thought as he continues to view closely and read the written attendance pad, seemed to amaze by pronouncing the female names on his first day.

Few moments passed before taking his view on his laptop and a girl with purple hair, a white-skinned woman with a red suit appeared in front of his desk.

"Looks like you're having your first day. So how was it?" Yukina asked with a sharp tone which is much intimidating than other bullies.

"Those angry girls from middle school having intimidation, it doesn't flinch me." A black-suited teenager replied, removing his hat, fixing his shaggy hair.

"Oh, and the attendance is complete right?" Yukina quizzed with a narrowed stare, forcing him to pull away.

"Frankly there is a vacant seat I saw during the class. And I don't know who she is."

"Then the girl Is not in your classroom on your first day and you pronounce their names without completing attendance?" Yukina growled in a sharp and intimidating attitude.

"I just already did? You didn't tell me about the rules." Salcedo firmed his voice a little bit higher.

"Then pick her up!!!" Yukina roared, lifted his shirt which caught the attention of the other teachers near them.

"She is busy fighting the Aradama outside of the campus. She is at Mibudera Temple. Maybe you have time to slack off before the bell rings. Your first task is done but try doing the second one starting right now."

Intimidating Academic president pushed him away, turned her heels, and left the teacher's room. Salcedo got back from his feet after falling off the floor from getting pushed by Yukina.

Salcedo leaving the campus heading to the parking lot near the 2 story building, pushing the car remote and unlocked the door open to the front seat, slammed the door shut, and ignite the car engine. He moved the car in reverse slowly because of the small street that people or small vehicles used to drive through, shifting gears to the first level, stepping pedal moving the vehicle ahead.

He drove at least 6 minutes in slow driving to reach the temple because of many people cross the streets vendors selling goods at the sidewalks and innocent bystanders full of Male high school dropouts in sitting or squatting position next to each other smoking cigarettes, luckily he finds a vacant parking lot next to a 4 seated vehicle behind small establishments of modern houses. He stopped the engine there, exit the car.

Mibudera Temple.

In front of the entrance, there are kanji monuments next to a hedge, kanji signs, and brown posters under the curved rooftop of the passageway.

Salcedo walks in, a girl is carrying a katana in her noticeable white glowing light outside of her body. Utsushi uses the Toji's okatana as an intermediary to temporarily transform the user's body into an energy-like state. In this state, the user glows with a noticeable white light. While Utsushi is active, in exchange for a slight feeling of pain and mental fatigue, any damage by users can be received by the Utsushi instead. Receiving a blow to a part of a body will make that part vanish and its function be lost, but one's real body will take no damage (including bleeding) while it is active. Losing one's concentration, passing out, and losing contact with one's okatana also severs the link with one's Utsushi.

In front of her view, he sees a flying creature in a brown shaped crust with a magma lining within the body. It has a round head, two large wings, two large legs used to stand, two shorter legs, six insectoid legs that are much smaller than the previous four, and a large claw on its torso. Its main advantage is mainly undergone to fly,

Aradama are creatures often called "oddities", "monsters", "spectres" and "evil spirits" among others. Aradama are in fact pieces of Noro that have agglomerated into a single entity, a pseudo-lifeform that had undergone a transformation. The threat level of Aradama varies based on the amount of Noro that makes up the Aradama and the quality of the Noro itself. The okatana of Toji can strike down and cleanse Aradama.

Her eyes glancing towards the flying aradama, her sword aiming at the weak point, she paused with her left foot positioned behind waiting for her right move.

The aradama moves faster, swing its right large claw, and attacks, a girl with black short hair swerved like a moving light, Aradama pull the claw leaves a big cracking hole damaging the floor, toji shifted her arms backward and aims a top of the sword holding like a rifle.

She moved her sword southeast behind her waist narrowing her eyes at her torso because her target has it's a weak point, Aradama descend towards toji like a dive bomb. A girl jumps forward, swings her sword like a baseball bat slice the torso in half. Lava blood splattered across the floor, aradama and two sliced bodies hit the bottom.

Toji lands her feet sheaths her sword, glowing state body vanished but no signs of passing out and losing concentration.

"Now that Souraku-san mentioned it, she is a toji. Some of the girls are carrying a katana." Salcedo mumbled, watching the girl gazing her eyes at finished aradama.

The girl gasped, quickly turns around, and saw a teenager standing behind him.

"Who are you!? What are you doing here!?" A girl exclaimed, narrowing her eyes, moved her arms clenching her grip at the handle, about to unsheath the katana.

"Hey there girl, chill ok. I'm unarmed. I'm human, just like you." Salcedo told the girl, lifting both hands, aiming his palms like a stop sign.

"Then why are you here!?" A black short-haired girl polled the student teacher with her narrowing irritated stare.

"Just came here to pick you up. My boss told me to. She says I have to get you back to school." He mentioned then point his right thumb behind the exit.

"I have the car parked there so I can give you a ride."

"Ok. What are you saying, your boss?" She asked in a puzzled face

"Umm... You'll find out tomorrow. Now come on it's time to go." He said.

"No thanks stranger, I can walk 6 minutes from here. You can walk home now" The toji said, walked past him, and left the area while he watches her.

Apartment, 3rd floor, living room - Evening 8:20 P.M

Salcedo seats on the couch, pushing his upper body forward to his laptop because of the shorter table, he sees his aunt in a webcam that is used for video calls and has limited connectivity due to a poor signal on the apartment.

"It was hard at first, aunt. But I can do a job somehow." Salcedo smiled, pressed his chin on both fingers formed like a bridge.

"That's great Son. Have you discussed it with your female boss? Did she hired you?" Her aunt at the webcam asked

"Someone just hired me as a teacher. I'm a little grateful. I will be paid somehow." he forced a smile but felt like not having a warm welcome after her first day of abuse.

"Ok, that's great. I just-- have you been eating your dinner?" She observing Salcedo in person

"I use the limited money I have. I just can't buy anything. Only food." Salcedo pouted rolling his eyes towards the keyboard.

"Aw, no money because you started your job already. Don't worry, next week i will send you cash. So just hang on." His aunt said, putting up some sweet smile.

"You don't have to worry. I got this." Salcedo thought, covering his mouth, suppressed his laughter, sputtering.

Ayanokouji Martial Arts School - 3rd Floor, Hallway

The student-teacher in black walks into the hallway on the 3rd floor, he has English books, notebooks, attendance records, and a pen holding at his right arm. He glances at 2 women gossiping stand next to a sliding door. They heard thumping sounds from the far-right, narrowing eyebrows, hurtful glare with pursed lips tightly towards him. Salcedo's eyes widened, raised his eyebrows, and mouth little unfolded in the skeptical face.

A girl with short black hair with a white sailor uniform appeared in front of him gasped with widened eyes and eyebrows, remembering his face yesterday from the temple. A girl with eyeglasses, a silver ponytail hair with white scrunch, and normal brown skin also stood next to her.

"Umm... Aren't you"

"Hey, you!!" Salcedo's sentence was cut off by a girl with short black hair pointing her finger at his face. "You're the guy from yesterday right?"

"Yes... But no. I'm just a student-teacher." He steps foot backward cringed.

"A student-teacher huh? Then what is your subject!?" The girl with black hair scolded with widened eyes and clenching teeth.

"I was just doing my job. My only subject is English." He flattered with a normal tone. His face dropped, closed his eyes, and breathe deep.

"Look, ladies. The class is about to start. So let's try to have a nice con-"

"Who told you to be our English teacher Alvarez-San!?" The girl with silver ponytail hair interrogated the teenager.

"Alvarez-san!?" The girl with black hair turned at her with widened eyes.

"His boss said he was the teacher. He came here first before you." The girl with silver ponytail hair told.

"So that's why you told me to come back to school because you're a teacher!!? Huh!!?" The black-haired girl rumbled, then slapped his right cheek. "Answer me!!!"

He sighed, fixing his eyeglasses back, touching a painful mark on his right cheek. "I guess these tojis are vituperative." He thought, gives a deep sigh.

"Well--"

"Get back to your class!!" A sharp tongue feminine voice catches their ear behind them.

The girls notice a white-skinned lady with purple hair and a red business outfit standing behind him.

"A rookie like him can't deal with a tojis like you. Maybe you should just leave him." Yukina murmured with a grimacing grin and a venomous sneer. "Let's try giving that loser rookie a shot."

The other girls scowled with clenching teeth and a nefarious look comes toward the classroom. "See you around Loser-sensei"

"You called yourself an English teacher when you get slapped in the face!?" Yukina took a step forward and scowled at the teenager.

"I can't fight back because i--" He looked away, closing his lips.

Yukina raises his grey polo shirt, glancing towards him. "Don't ever make that face Alvarez-san!!! You should know better by the time you came here!!!"

"I already know that. I--"

Salcedo's sentence was cut off by Yukina who shoves him to the floor, books, notebooks, and attendance records dropped from his right arm.

"Then do it right!!! You have more jobs to do!!" She growled pointing his fingers at him, she turns heels and left.

His high cheekbones sunken, his glance shaded with weariness and confusion, he breathes as nothing happened then slowly trudges next to a dropped books slowly picks it off, pushing his right foot against the floor, stood back up, lifting his head at the ceiling.

Teacher's room

Salcedo sat at the desk while gazing at the attendance record. Sketching sounds from pen and papers, stumping and gossiping can be heard around him. The more he looks at the names of the girls in the classroom, the more furious he felt from getting slapped earlier. He wanted to vent his anger and slammed his desk and screamed his voice out. Because of the sake of keeping his job he tries deep breaths, holding his nerve by doing his hobbies, trying not to disturb the teachers around him.

"D-d-dammit... What does she trying to do? Treating unwelcoming guests like me?" Salcedo murmured, let out his big sighs, and pressed his left palm against his face. "Unbelievable. I should just hold out for another week."

Apartment - 3rd floor, Evening.

The room became peaceful, but tv noises, people talking, and tapping sounds raises his ears from below the floor. He pushed his back, melting away from the sofa. His face was focused on laptops, rolling his eyes back and forth, tapping his keyboard with both fingers to type without looking at least a few seconds of a glimpse.

When finished working on his assignments, he slowly slams his laptop shut. He grabs the remote next to him, pressing the power button and a female news reporter with a pink sleeve and short yellow hair appears on the screen.

"We have breaking news about the aradama situation. The noro was found lying on the ground at Mibudera Shrine appears to be a dead body of the flying aradama. The good news in the matter, the toji Is keeping the monstrous specter at bay. The rest of the special swords bureau collected the piece of liquid and it was collected and put to storage for greater use."

Salcedo pressed the power button and the screen turns black. He placed the remote back to the table, pressing his left arm against his forehead.

"Looks like I've been there before. Pointless news report." He murmured, collapses at the couch glancing at the ceiling.

Ayanokouji Martial Arts School - Teacher's room, Morning.

Salcedo sits on his desk, writing reports in his notebook. Few teachers doing coffee breaks, gossiping, and murmuring tapping shoes sounds heard around him. He adjusts his eyeglasses and keeps writing.

"Hey you, I need you to do me a favor!!" Rumbling door sounds and loud tapping, feel the footsteps and harsh scold of a woman in front of him. He glances upward and saw Yukina heading to his desk.

"What is it you want this time?" Salcedo glanced at her with A yellow face with open eyes, raised or furrowed eyebrows, and a broad frown.

"That girl in your class needs some equipment for tomorrow's class and I need you to do it now." Yukina slams the table with both hands.

"Can't she do it herself? It's not ok to hesitate and be polite." He shrugged.

"Excuse me!? You work for me and you do exactly as I say you got that!?" Yukina shouted, pointing her fingers at his face.

"Ok! I can do what you want if you pay me at least a couple of bucks" Salcedo said, stood up from his desk.

"I won't pay you until you get the job done got it!!" She yelled, then turn her heels and left.

Few people around him caught their attention with A yellow face with open eyes, raised or furrowed eyebrows, and a broad frown gossiping around their ears, rolling their eyes at the confused teenager.

Ayanokouji Martial Arts School - 3rd-year classroom, Afternoon.

All girls sitting at their chairs, gossiping next to each other. Rumbling doors were heard open, led into turning heads at the black suit teenager still wearing a hat even still on inside the classroom, carrying school supplies on his arms, placing them at his table.

"Ok. My boss told me to bring these school supplies for that girl I don't know about. Whose stuff is this?" Salcedo asked the entire class, placing hands on his table.

A girl with black long hair with her eyeglasses on the back row raised her left hand where Salcedo can quickly notice her attention.

"Oh, I see. But just so you know this stuff cost you ¥130.00. I spend it with my own money." Salcedo informed the student with narrowed eyes and eyebrows.

"Don't worry Sensei. She will pay you back by the end of the week." The girl with long black hair shrugged with a smirk face.

"Yeah, as long as she told me that you will get the job done, right?"

Everyone in his class covered their mouths, holding their giggling and chuckling like an open faucet. Some of the class hold their tummy against their arms couldn't hold, widened their mouth like a cackling witch.

"Why did I have to agree to this?" Salcedo mumbled, dropping his face against his table and let out his breath.

Apartment, 3rd Floor - Evening

Salcedo sitting at the table next to his bed with the yellow light on the front turned on, reading an attendance book but felt watching written notes like a tv. His mind became a flashback of getting bullied in middle school, where one of his classmates behind him kick his lower back, pushed him to the ground. He couldn't think clearly because he reminds him of a hostile environment engulfed around his body.

His flashback ended when he closed both eyes shook his head, recovering his sanity as he slams his empty page close. He switches the yellow light off, turned his head at closed windows, and watch closely towards the moon, illuminates most of the city, even when most of the city lights turned across Kyoto.

Ayanokouji Martial Arts School - Teachers room, Noon.

Salcedo sitting at his table and writing attendance records and reports since it's his first week working as an English Teacher. He also let out his breath against his desk with his face with a frown, downcast eyes as if aching with sorrow since the unfair treatment of his unwelcoming routine became duplicative. Even teachers around him couldn't stop rolled their eyes, turning their heads towards the teenager, rumoring about his flunking job with Yuzuki while covering their mouths until Rumbling and loud slammed sliding door startled everyone else which gossiping and whispering turned silent, rolling their heads at the girl with white uniform.

"Yuzuki-sensei wants you there at her office Sensei!!" one student exclaimed, narrowing her eyes with her clenched teeth and fist.

"So you better not be wasting her time!! So this is your chance to tell how stupid your job with Yukina-sensei got that!!!"

The girl slams the sliding door shut which loud bang noise hits their ears, utterly intimidated with their eyebrows are brought together, and the forehead is furrowed. Salcedo didn't felt a flinch but lead him to breathe out, dropping against his table.

To be continued...
