Kara Cahill (The White Wolf)

She had to keep her true identity hidden and trust only a few people. But some secrets are always meant to be revealed, some fates are not meant to be changed. Can Kara Cahill accept her fate and let the prophecy run its course? ■■■ Out of the woods, wolves emerged, snarling and growling. Kara sighed. "Without knowing who I am, she made this move. I wonder how it would be if she knew who I truly was." She whispered to Klaus and stepped out. The snarling wolves' sound covered whatever she was saying so she couldn't be heard.. "You will not treat me like a fragile glass." He nodded but grabbed her hand first and said, "I've seen what you can do. Changing into a wolf partly. You will teach me when this is over." Nodding she replied. "Okay. But you'll tell me about anybody who is a somebody in the pack and out." "Deal, now let's kick some wolf butts." He grinned and they were back-to-back. The first wolf attacked and Kara slammed her arm into its jaw. It bite her and drew blood. "No more nice new girl." Her eyes flashed white for a second and she attacked. Her speed could not be matched and the onlookers couldnt look away. She slammed jaws and her nails left marks on the faces of some of the wolves. She was a sight on the field. Careful not to kill anyone, Kara pushed the last person the the ground and stood snarling. Klaus howled and patted her on the back. "Mad skills you got." His smile was wide as his eyes twinkled. Mara clapped dramatically and narrowed her yes at Kara. She sneered. "I agree, you can move... against amateurs."

Two souls in a body

"How is that possible?" Destiny asked.

She really shouldn't be surprised, anything could happen in this part of the world.

Hera smiled, her demeanour was gentle compared to Kara's. She looked soft for a deadly person.

"A little case of reincarnation I suppose." She sighed. "Quite ironic that I'm in my wedding gown and death gown."

Destiny didn't know what to say. She wished vehemently that this was one of the days Hartridge snuck into her mind or a shadow turned up somewhere.

"Do not worry. Kara will be back, much sooner than you think. " Hera explained with her sad smile.

She sat beside Destiny who flinched.

"I will not hurt you, I'm sorry for doing that before." She scooted away a bit.

Destiny gestured to her. "How does this work? Is it like a sort of personality disorder? You come out whenever she can't handle reality."

Hera laughed and waved her hand. "Oh no no no. Personality disorder, maybe a yes. If I came out whenever dramatic things happened, this wouldn't be my first time. Trust me, I've tried coming out."

She pulled her knees to her chest and hugged herself.

"I noticed it the first time she became a full wolf. A couple seconds of unconsciousness. You would think she was vulnerable whenever she slept but that blasted hawk taught her better. Anyway, when she changed this time, I seized the opportunity to increase my own consciousness. But Kara is strong, she's stirring even as we speak." Hera explained.

"The hawk... you mean Bob."

"Yes him. The tea he gave that old woman for us wasn't to wipe her memory but to suppress me. Anastasia Deville is a clever woman, I'll give her that." The younger girl grinned.

Just as Destiny was about to ask another question, the girl grabbed her head and began to groan. Wolf ears were growing out of her hair and her nails got longer. She crawled to stare at her reflection and Destiny noticed the tail.

"Are you alright?" She asked and unconsciously stretched her hand out.

Hera's face turned to her but it was different. There was an aura of stubbornness and power that reminded her of Anastasia.

"You! What did you do to me?" Kara growled and pounced on her.

They struggled against each other.

"I did nothing. If you would just calm down for a bit, I'll explain." Destiny managed to say.

Kara jumped back when she saw the knife and watched the older woman bring out a gun.

"You are human." She stated with a puzzled expression as she pulled out her own knife.

Destiny was impressed by the change of clothes, it had been a subtle change.

"Yes I am, Kara, my name is Destiny. I'm a friend of your mother's." She introduced herself and tucked in her weapons.

Kara said nothing but stayed on guard. Destiny sighed.

"I've seen bizarre things, you just topped it all." She said with a little hysteric chuckle. She felt as if she was losing her mind. "I'm guessing you don't know Hera Deville."

The wolf girl frowned. "The only Deville I know is the woman who birthed me."

"Fair enough. Look, I won't hurt you. I have a feeling you can do me more harm than I'd ever be able to do to you. Let's call a truce and both go meet Hartridge." Destiny suggested. She wanted to sleep, badly.

They both had bruises on their bodies. Kara observed her and listened to her heartbeat. She didn't think she was lying. She straightened herself, tucked in her knife and walked to the griffin. It stared at her arrogantly which made her smile.

"Why don't you fly back, we'll be fine." She rubbed its beak and it took off.

"Why will you send it back? That was our ride!" Destiny exclaimed. Now she had to walk back?

Kara shrugged and smirked. "Well, we'll have time to converse won't we?"

It was dark except for the moonlight. Kara remembered turning into a wolf and running out of the dungeon but not her transformation back to her human self. She'd felt locked out and detached from her body in an unconscious way. Like someone put a spell on her.

She looked at the woman who call herself Destiny. Something about her reminded her of someone.

"You wouldn't happen to know May would you?" She asked as they walked.

Destiny sighed and slapped the mosquito on her arm. "She's my niece."

"And Miss Humphrey?"

"A sweet old woman that owed me a huge favour."

Kara couldn't deny that, Miss Humphrey was actually sweet.

"May says hi actually. She wanted to come but I'd never risk her life. This world isn't hers." Destiny said just as she stumbled.

Kara grabbed her and steadied her.

"Thanks." Destiny smiled sheepishly. "You haven't asked of your mother, and you seem to be taking this all well."

It was Kara's turn to sigh. "I stopped letting things bother me a long time ago, stopped being surprised whenever anything happened. I've accepted that if I can be a wolf, then anything is possible." She gave the older woman a lop-sided smile. "We still have a long way to go. I'll ask of her in due time. So what are you? Why are you here?"

"I'm a Sister debating if I want this world to burn or offer a little assistance. If you could walk away from all of this, will you?" Destiny asked and stopped to gauge her reaction.

Kara looked at the moon. She'd asked herself the same question and another more than once. If she could change her fate and if she could walk away.

"I don't know. I think I can only answer the question when it is actually an option. There is no use dwelling on it and being sad or angry about it." She answered finally.

Her reply reminded Destiny of someone else's.

"I do believe fate is cruel and it is out to take every single tear I have in my body but there is no use thinking about the Ifs. If I hadn't fallen in love and if I hadn't been a Sister. There is only the acceptance that this is my life currently and the moving forward." Anastasia Devilled had told her with very sad eyes and smile. The expression had torn her heart.

Destiny came back to reality and cleared her throat. "So, how's the shadow prince? You've met him right?"

Kara gave her a confused smile. "Nop. Is there a reason why I should?"

Destiny paused then shook her head. "Haha, maybe not yet. So hmm, how is the school life?"

"Eventful, there is always something new. The new teacher now you, oh, and the riots in places outside that I don't know but are because of me." The young girl shrugged. "Why are you here?"

"To offer my allegiance to you."

"Should you be offering it to me? I don't know what it is worth but I'm sure there are others that need it. Besides, I seem to be the cause of the troubles." They both paused as the rain started, drenching them.

Destiny sighed. Great, her day just got better. "Do you trust me?"

"Ofcourse not. But, you are the only human I've seen in a long while so, making you an enemy won't exactly do me good."

"Smart. The allegiance is mine to offer and yours to accept, I'll earn your trust in due time."

They smiled at each other before sprinting off. Kara slowed her pace to be in sync with Destiny. Destiny told her about the kids at the orphanage and how May missed her.

"Its nice to be missed, at least someone will know me as Kara Cahill and not the Taboo child." Kara grinned as they got back to Oakley mansion.

"Could be worse." Destiny grinned, panting. "Do you know why they call it Oakley Mansion instead of school?"

"Nope."

"Me neither. I should add it to the list of things to ask Hartridge."

They laughed as walked back in, through the dungeon. Kara checked on the griffin before leaving.

"Does it have its upside? Being a Sister I mean?" She asked as they walked, both of them looking like wet cats.

Destiny sneezed a couple times before answering. "I think it's just a badge that says 'hey I'm special' but with a lot of responsibilities. But do you know what I think?"

"What?"

"When I became a Sister, supernatural mayhem in the human world reduced thanks to me. I don't know about the other sisters. But I think fate brings 'special people' when it wants there to be a change. Negative, positive, who knows! Maybe the era of sisters are over, maybe you are the sign of the change or the change." Destiny said as they got to the front of her room.

"You should get some warm sleep, it should keep the cold away. See you in the morning Miss Destiny." Kara bowed dramatically and walked away.

Deep within Kara's consciousness, Hera knew Destiny and been talking to her also.
