Chapter 14

"I felt it," I started. "You and the redhead. I saw it and I felt it. I felt pain." I fought back tears as I watched his reaction. He almost looked sorry. Almost.

"You felt it?" he asked. I nodded. "That's not my fault," he stated.

"How isn't that your fault?!" Shawn shouted at him.

Alex glared at him and looked at me. "You could've accepted it," he said, referring to the rejection. "You wouldn't feel it if you just accepted it."

"So this is my fault?" I asked exasperated.

Alex nodded. "Pretty much."

"You fuc-"

"Ema!" Ryan cut me off. I turned around and watched as he rushed up to me. "The castle. It's under attack." That turned the fight into a meager situation. My heart dropped and my mind cleared from this stupid man in front of me. The only things on my mind were my family, friends, and pack. People could be dying.
