I quickly arrive at my destination, the screaming house. I lost a lot of precious time, but I found what I needed, the Black heir ring.
My plan was simple yet complex. The world would know Sirius Black's son, who was fathered on a drunken spree with his best friend at the time, Lily Potter.
Of course, in order not to tarnish the reputation of the Black or Potter family, I was marked a secret, and left in another country, so that things could calm down and I could return one day.
To achieve this, it took 8 years working Harry's mind, who finally accepted the proposal, and then, I just waited for a suitable time, and used most of my power to find Sirius.
Therein resided the problem, and it was not finding it, but how. I couldn't let Harry meet him, not yet, I've messed with this world's timeline too much, and if I mess up any more, it could be that a certain dark lord is the old man, not the slaver.
That was why I was so weak, taking over Harry's mind and body was hard work, and it got even worse when I had to move us back and forth through the hole to implant a false memory in Sirius.
I don't deny it, even though I warned the boy that I could not talk to him for a while, I didn't think it would be that long. It took me 2 months to get even a little bit of my power back, and even then, it was never the same.
Anyway, now comes the cool part of the plan. Gringotts.
I opened a new hole, in a dark alley that Harry saw the first time he came here. I needed to know where I was going, so that's why I did the ritual where I did, as well as why I can make these holes.
Holes is a very good name for what I do. It's almost the same as Marvel's sorcerers do, the difference is, they traverse through the mirror dimension, but so fast that it doesn't even seem to go through there.
In my case, I just drill a hole in space, connecting two places directly. I don't need fancy moves, or an inductive object, but the real problem with the thing is time and magic consumption.
Moving on.
I pass through the always open doors of the bank. This is very different from the previous worlds I've lived, here, the bank was really 24 hours a day, not just a little box that often didn't have money.
And the bankers here take their jobs seriously, I would even say too seriously. Missing no opportunity to make a few coins run through their pockets. Continuing.
I go to a cashier without queues, with only one leprechaun concentrated on something important, I believe it is a ledger.
"Good evening coin master. I would like to take an inheritance test as well as discuss some private matters." I inform him directly, with the little elf sizing me up and down.
"Your wand." he holds out his hand.
"I don't own one. At least not yet." I answer with a smile.
"I see, follow me." he descends quietly from his post, and leads me through some long corridors, turning here and there.
I knew what the little insect was doing, and I didn't worry, sometimes thinking too smart is its biggest mistake, and I was very wary of that feeling.
Once inside, he lets me pass and turns to close the door, but I saw his smile as I passed, and I took a step closer as he turned quickly, letting the door slam shut, drawing a silver dagger.
To his complete surprise, the tips of my fingers touched his forehead, and without losing my breath, I sang. "malediction in generis". And the little goblin started screaming in pain, clutching his head.
"Now listen up, you greedy little piece of shit. I have a bad mood for thieves, especially those who have plenty but aren't content with what they've got. That'll be my only warning.
I will cancel the curse for now, but try one more trick on me, and you can be absolutely sure, you will wish for death with all your strength, and you will never be able to receive your affection. Am I clear?" I finish slicing the air with my fingers, and the goblin finally relaxes his body.
He gets up a little shaky, but even so, he looks at me with the purest hatred I've ever seen, and I've killed many hollows in my previous life.
"I like that look. Now, you will swear by goblin magic, that anything said, written and discovered, will be kept your absolutest secret. But, before you get smart, the curse is in the gene, so that means that she doesn't break up with you.
She goes as much to her descendants as to her ancestors. Now that you are aware of the consequences, your choice of how to use this information. You can take your oath now." I sit down in a comfortable armchair, without permission or any respect for the little shit.
Reluctantly, he begins. "I, Gripho Bloodrinker, swear by goblin magic that I will not tell any secrets concerning my client." he finishes, dripping a drop of blood from his finger, which evaporates into the air.
I just laugh at the goblin's idiotic attempt to be smart. If he truly believes I haven't noticed his sweet words, oh boy, will it be interesting to see that curse in action.
His grin, thinking he was the victor, was plastered on his hideous face, as he grabbed a knife, a bowl and a parchment with a quill. He looked more and more excited.
"Cut your finger, drop 3 drops of your blood..." he couldn't finish his words, when his head once again began to ache excruciatingly. His screams had drawn the attention of other goblins, who looked from me, a boy to one of the goblin nation's prodigies.
"Oh, I forgot to mention, the curse is not triggered by me, but by yourself, I can only stop it, not start it. Too bad, but what is the thing that starts the curse? Oh boy, this I wanted to know also." I tease the screaming goblin.
His eyes were red, it was visible to any of the others, the suffering the goblin was going through. "That's what happens when you think you're too smart, you thought you could outsmart me just by looking young.
You foolish insect, before creating an enemy, learn about him, study his strengths and learn about his weaknesses. You're out of luck, little elf, because your pain, I will NEVER stop it." I laughed at the end.
"You are a monster." I heard one of the newly arrived goblins scream.
"He tries to kill me, curse me, and I'm a monster? Nice, so indeed I am, but only against my enemies, and look at this, he chose to be an enemy. Now, between you, who wants to be my friend? " I had a sinister smile on my face.
"Gringots will never do services to you or your family." shouts another.
"Fine, then, as the rightful heir to the noble Black family, I wish to withdraw all my possessions from their vaults, as well as collect every debt Gringotts owes my family. How does that sound?" I present my smile again.
"I think we can reach an agreement Mr. Black. If you would accompany me please." a more cunning goblin appears, indicating a way. "This way sir." he continues.
