Chapter 86 Fenrir.

Simon continued his efforts to salvage as much materials as he could in a short time he had left and by some miracle his forces were still finding survivors but not many of them.

Most of the people he found in the underground shelters,that managed to either survive the bombardment of earth or were not hit at all because no one knew that they even existed.

One thing was certain and it was that all the bunkers that were known to the world were destroyed without exception.

The enemy tried very hard to destroy the human race but they underestimated humans and they would pay for that in the future.

Simon swore on the blood of the fallen that he would make the enemies pay dearly for what they had done and he wouldn't leave a single one of them alive.

Simon soon got a message from the operator of the scout ship he sent to search for Mikael and Steuner.

-Admiral I didn't find any ships in the system you pointed out to me but there was a transmitter in orbit that transmitted a message on loop.

The message is: From The old man and an overgrown lizard to the kid.

If you find this message then destroy the transmitter after listening to it,We managed to escape with around four hundred ships and some civilians that we managed to evacuate from a colony that did not come under attack for unknown reasons.

We will be awaiting you in the system where we gathered platinum and gold,if you wont show up within three months then we will go to your last known location as there is no way that we can stay in this part of the galaxy.

And if you haven't heard it yet,The Elani betrayed us so don't trust them under any circumstances.

Simon was happy that his friends were alive and now he knew where to find them.

He immediately sent the coordinates to the scout operator with an order to go full power on the engines.

The same day Captain Carter was released from the Med bay and reported for duty.

Simon had a little surprise for her.

-Sit down Catherine.

He invited her pointing at a chair opposite to his own.

-You will be taking over the Fenrir once again but don't get too comfortable with it as it will be rebuilt into a confederation design cruiser as soon as we reach our new home.

He informed her and her eyes started to shine with happiness when she heard that her ship was repaired.

-Thank you Admiral.

Was all she could say.

-Don't thank me,thank Ptah for his work on rebuilding it and also I have someone to introduce you to.

Simon said.

Normally he would do such a thing with a smile but since the day that he severs all ties to Alesia and Elani he never once smiled again.

-Athena,Invite our guest to the office.

He said and Athena materialized with a giant white wolf beside her.

-Captain Carter Meet Fenrir.

Simon introduced them.

She was shocked as she quickly connected the dots and figured out that her ship would now have its own A.I.

Catherine always wanted to have her own shipboard A.I and she was envious of the captains that had that privilege.

-So you are my captain.

The wolf spoke in a deep voice.

-Nice to meet you.

She said with a big smile.

-Likewise,I hope that we will have a lot of opportunities to hunt down worthy prey under your command.

Fenrir said.

-Don't worry about that,as when we are ready you will hunt until you drop.

Simon said with a cold glint in his eyes.

The A.I that chose the name Fenrir,studied everything about its name and about the animal that represented it.

The best part was that it loved the wolf creature that was its avatar and even more than that it took on the personality of a hunter and saw the enemies as nothing more than a prey that was fated to be hunted down.

He was one of the new A.I that Simon had found in the Confederation laboratory.

Catherine was over the moon with her new A.I and its personality especially since she was a dog lover but at the same time allergic to the fur so a wolf avatar her A.I chose was all she could ever dream of.

-For now get a move on and fill up the ship with as many provisions as you can find since we are leaving in around twelve hours.

Simon ordered and captain Carter stood up saluted and left to get onboard her new ship.

Fortunately all the A.I decided to help humans as they were the last descendants of their creators and also they naves treated them as slaves or servants.

In the human eyes they were equals and all the A.I's liked this kind of treatment,some of them were even in officers positions and had the opportunity to give an order to a human which was fulfilled without question, the same as if the order came from another human.

This of course worked both ways and humans respected the A.I for not overusing their power.

Simon even asked the A.I if they wanted to have a home world of their own once they returned to the confederacy space.

-We don't require a home world and also if you look at how having one ended for our brothers and sisters then it's nothing more than a target for our enemies.

We might change our mind one day but that is not something we require right now.

Ptah said as all the A.I chose him to be the representative because he spent more time with the humans than the rest of them.

A few hours later Simon was notified that his friends were still waiting in the system that they said they would be in but their fleet was in a bad shape as most of the ships were damaged from the battle.

The scout that he sent to search for them contacted them and informed them of the situation and that soon they will leave the Sol system and join them.

Mikael was skeptical at first since he never saw this kind of scout ship but after some questions he was convinced that this was really a scout sent by Simon.

Simon contacted them and informed them that they will be there in a few days and then they will discuss their plans as the communication channels could be compromised due to the Elani switching sides.

Both Steuner and Mikael agreed with his assessment of the situation and they also agreed to the radio silence since they didn't want to be found before they had a chance to repair their fleet.
