HUMBLE BEGININGS

Larissa sat in the back bench of her classroom along with her group of friends. Her best friend Samuel sat beside her. Larissa was straight A student who had high hopes set on her future. However today she was daydreaming about the new transfer student in her school, Rohan.

Her teacher was teaching about the human immune system today and most of the students were intently listening to her. The place were she sat was dimly lit and very cozy. Everyone who usually sit there lost the mood to study. But surprisingly Larissa felt most productive whenever she sat there.

She had her typica high school friends group. Dev was the funny carefree guy, Samantha was between what you would call a nerd and a model. Tony and Alan were the two big bruisers of their group and then there was Billy. Billy and Larissa used to be inseparable but they become distant. Life seemed to be perfect for Larissa from the outside. She had good grades, good look, and friends she could count on....Until it wasn't...

Suddenly she felt a weird feeling which couldn't be explained. "What the hell was that ???" she thought to herself. She noticed all the other students also felt the same thing.... it was mix of great sorrow and excitement. " Did you feel tha...." before Samuel could complete Larissa replied "yes".

Suddenly many students gasped. Larissa turned around to see her biology teacher dissolving into thin air. A bright light illuminated from her revealing her horrified pale face, and just like that she burst into light and vanished. Before anyone had the time to process what was happening a retching smell filled the room and suddenly several creatures who looked like zombies stride forward into the room. They began attacking the girls nearby the door immediately

The guys instinctively rushed and started battering the Zombie like abominations . Unfortunately the creatures, despite their rotting and weakened look were unnaturally strong and agile as they tore through anyone in their path. Larissa rushed to help their friends in the brawl when suddenly one of the things leaped on Billy sending him crashing onto a nearby shelf which ended up falling down....into Larissa's head. Then everything went blank......
