A few days later,
In the principal's office,
"Geto, do you know why you've been called here?"
The scene unfolds in Masamichi's office, where Geto sits across from his mentor and superior. Masamichi's expression is somber, his gaze reflecting the weight of the conversation to come.
"Geto, you have another special grade exorcism mission."
"Hmmm? I just came back after a first grade exorcism. Can't I have some rest."
"No."
Geto leans back in his chair, his demeanor cool and detached as he listens to Masamichi's words.
"Fine whatever principal where do I have to go?"
Masamichi leans forward, his hands folded before him as he begins to recount the tragic tale that had unfolded in the Minamata district.
"Let me tell you a story Geto."
"Once upon a time, in the town of Minamata, Japan, there was a chilling tale of horror that unfolded. It all began with a company called Chisso Corporation, who dumped their industrial waste into the waters surrounding the town. But.... This time they dumped in mercury.
Mercury, a toxic substance, seeped into the fish and shellfish that the people of Minamata relied on for their livelihoods. Soon, residents started falling ill with a mysterious disease that twisted their bodies and clouded their minds. It was a nightmare come to life.
The disease, known as Minamata Disease, claimed the lives of thousands and left many more permanently disabled. Families were torn apart, their lives shattered by the horror that befell them. Yet, despite the mounting evidence, Chisso Corporation denied any wrongdoing, prolonging the suffering of the victims."
"And.... The number of people affected is roughly two million right now."
"Hoh? A disaster like this and it didn't create a cursed spirit?"
"That's the problem, if a cursed spirit was supposed to pop up it would during the 1960s but a cursed spirit related to it has manifested now for some unknown reason."
Geto's expression remains impassive, his gaze flickering briefly to the diagram on the wall before returning to Masamichi.
'interesting.....'
"Enough with the history lesson, Masamichi-sensei. When do I have to go?"
Masamichi's gaze lingers on Geto for a moment, a flicker of concern crossing his features before he nods.
"You will journey to Minamata and confront the Minamata cursed spirit, putting an end to its reign of terror."
Geto nodded curtly, rising from his seat with a sense of purpose.
"Consider it done." Geto was about to leave before Masamichi called him back again.
"Not so fast. You're not going to defeat a special grade curse just by yourself. Toji will be accompaning you as a babysitter so you don't mess up." Masamichi said.
"How are we going there?"
"By a private jet."
"A private jet ?!" Geto's body shot up from his seat.
"Y-you- since when did we have funding. Don't tell me you signed a deal with the devil?" Geto said while pointing his twitching hand at Masamichi.
"Are you dumb? I just got some funding from our sponsors *Ahem*."
'I can't just tell him that Toji paid for the expenses." Sweat dripped down Masamichi's neck.
"Anyways. A cursed veil has been cast over the district and the town itself has been evacuated."
"Now shooo shooo. Get out of here."
"Whatever."
As Geto made his way down the stairs to the principal's office, he met a familiar face .
"Yo Geto! Fancy seeing you here!" Toji said before patting Geto's head.
"Enough of that Sensei." Veins popped up on Geto's forehead before he moved his head away from Toji's hand.
"Well then, Geto. Ready for our little field trip?" Toji smiled at Geto.
"You.... You call excorsising a special grade spirit a field trip?" Geto just looked at Toji confusedly.
"I think you know the news about our mission right? More than 2 million people were affected by the disease. The negative energy must be flooding over there. How can you be so casual about it?"
"You do have a point... A special grade spirit just coming into existence so it must still be inexperienced. Why did a disaster level spirit pop up after over 50 years though? Interesting...." Toji, seemingly lost in his own thoughts, said while scratching his chin.
'Kenjaku, kenjaku. Are you involved in this too?'
"Meh. Don't worry about it. As long as I'm here, nothing bad is going to happen." Toji just gave Geto a thumbs up.
In reaction Geto just smiled wryly.
"Whatever you say, Sensei. When are we setting off?"
Toji gestured toward the private jet awaiting them from the window with a nonchalant wave of his hand.
"W-what? How did you bring a private jet to the road outside of school." Geto widened his eyes.
"Hehehe. I was bored and didn't want to go the airport." Toji said.
"Anyways when do you wanna go? I'm ready right now. If you want to pack up your things then I can wait." Toji said while playing with the purple blob in his hands.
"Wait wait wait I have some questions but the biggest one is, how is this even supposed to take off?"
"Oh yeah. I didn't think of that. Wait one a second." Toji closed his eyes before snapping his fingers.
Infront of Geto's eyes a large runway strip appeared for the airplane to go off on.
"No wonder you won against Gojo. How did you even do that?" Geto mumbled to himself.
"It's called magic." Toji said.
'hmmm. Sensei's a bit lost in the head but whatever.'
"You ready to go ?"
"Yeah yeah. Let's get this over with as soon as possible." Geto just sighed.
As they left to board the jet on the way they met up with Shoko, Mai, Nanami, Mei Mei and last but not least Yu Haibara who had finally come back from an excorsism mission he was sent on.
Though the talk between Toji and Mai was awkward because of *Ahem* the things that unflolded between them.
Needless to say, he was shocked by what had happened in his absence.
"Haaaaah. A private jet. It hits just the spot don't you think?" Toji said while relaxing on the cozy recliner seat inside the jet.
"Yeah. It feels weird, ya know, being rich." Geto said while rubbing his head.
Thhey talked to each other about daily life and cursed sorcery and before they even knew it 30 minutes had passed.
"Uhm. Toji sensei, when is this plane going to take off?"
"I don't know."
"You don't know? What does that mean?"
"I really don't know. Why don't you ask the pilot yourself.?" Toji smiled mysteriously for some reason.
"Uh okay." Geto got up from his seat and went straight to the pilot's cabin. As soon as he went into the room he met someone he didn't expect to see in his wildest dreams.
"Did you miss me?" A certain white haired man with black glasses asked Geto while smiling widely.
"N-no this can't be. We're all going to die." Geto clutched his head in pain while thinking about all the possibilities.
"Oh come on. What's the worst that could happen? We'll just blame it on a cursed spirit. Relaxxxxxx." Gojo said not minding his own responsibility.
" *Sigh* Whatever. Do you even know how to fly a plane?"
"Huh? Of course. Who do you think I am?" Gojo looked offended by Geto's remark.
As Geto listened to Gojo's words in the corner of his eye he saw two books on the second pilot seat. They read,
How to fly a private plain for dummies, and,
Airplane Flying Handbook FAA-H-8083-3C.
"You..... Fine whatever." Geto just smiled wryly.
'What's the worst that could happen? Worst case scenario is the plane will crash. He probably memorized everything already with his six eyes.' toji hoped that nothing bad would happen before going back to his seat.
"Well then are you suprised?" Toji grinned at Geto.
"Saying I'm surprised is an understatem-
"Yoohooo it's Gojo Satoru the pilot here. Fasten your seatbelts and uh turn off your phones if you want to I don't really care but the book says so. And get prepared for take off." Gojo's voice could be heard through the intercom.
'Fuck. Well better brace for impact.' Geto smiled skeptically before hurriedly putting on his seatbelt and holding onto his seat.
Suddenly the plane took off from the runway at maximum speed. So fast that it shouldn't even be possible for the plane to do so.
"Well, so far so good." Toji said. From the blob on his shoulder he took out a bag of popcorn.
"You want some?" Toji handed it out to Geto.
'What is his body even made off?' Geto couldn't help but doubt his eyes.
'The plane is at max speed and almost flying vertically. If it was a normal person they would have passed out from the pressure. But he isn't even slightly effected by it.'
"Yeah, I'll have some." Geto forced out a strained smile before taking the bag of popcorn.
After another grueling 2 minutes, the turbulence finally stopped and the plane flew in the air without any problem.
"Heyyy hiiiii! It's your pilot Gojo speaking! Sorry for the turbulence. I kind of forgot and had to revise the book mid-way through take off so whatever. Have a great flight everyone."
"It's finally over." Geto's skin finally regained colour as he sighed in relief.
"How about we have some fun, Geto?"
"What do you want Toji sensei?"
"5 million yen." Toji grinned.
"W-what?" Geto asked.
"Standard game of blackjack. 5 million winning pool. If you win you get everything and if I win let's just say you owe me a favour." Toji said before smiling mysteriously.
"Are you sure about this Sensei?" Geto gulped becuase of the sheer amount offered.
"Hell yeah. Look at this." From his blob he took out a deck of cards.
"Created by jeweler and watchmaker Shawish, its made of 17.9 carats of diamonds and 18-karat white gold. It's worth like 140 thousand dollars. I bought it for fun when I was bored " Toji said while shuffling the deck of cards in his hand.
Geto gulped because of the stakes of the game he was about to partake in.
As the private jet soared through the sky, Geto found himself looking at Toji's hands with maximum concentration as Toji's expression grew increasingly serious as he shuffled with practiced precision.
Geto eyed the deck of cards with a hint of apprehension, knowing that his sensei's competitive spirit could turn even the most innocent game into a fierce battle.
As the game began, a palpable tension filled the cabin, each player silently assessing their hand and calculating their next move. Geto's brow furrowed in concentration as he studied his cards, while Toji's expression remained unreadable.
Toji looked at his cards with a confident flourish, his eyes locked on Geto's with unwavering focus.
"Your move, Geto." Toji smirked at Geto after looking at his cards.
Geto's hands trembled slightly as he looked at the cards in his hands before he spoke,
"Hit me."
As he said so Toji passed along a card to Geto.
The tension mounted with each card drawn, the silence broken only occasionally by the shuffle of the deck and the soft hum of the jet engines. Geto's heart by now was racing like a rollercoaster as he watched Toji's expression for any sign of weakness.
Geto's hand consists of a 7 of clubs and a 9 of spades, bringing his total to 16. He hesitated for a moment before deciding to take another card, hoping to improve his hand. Toji, on the other hand, held a 10 of hearts and a King of diamonds, a strong starting hand.
With bated breath, Geto drew another card, revealing a 5 of hearts. His total now stood at 21, a perfect blackjack. A sense of triumph grew within him as he lay his cards on the table, confident in his victory.
"Blackjack." Geto called out with a proud smile.
Toji's expression remained impassive as he surveyed his own hand, weighing his options carefully. With a deliberate gesture, he gazed at the bet inside his blob, his gaze never leaving Geto's.
"Stand." Toji called out, once more.
As the tension reached its peak, Toji revealed his hand, a 9 of diamonds. Gege's heart sank as he realized the futility of his efforts. Despite his best efforts, Toji's unwavering skill had secured him the win in the end.
Toji's smile was a mix of satisfaction and amusement as he laughed at Geto's face full of despair, a testament to his superior strategy and focus.
"Pffft. Well played kid. You wanna know something fun?"
"What?"
"I never even had five million with me AGHAHAHAHA!" Toji screamed while laughing at his own joke. Tears of mockery poured out of his eyes.
'is he okay in the head?' geto smiled wryly.
"You.... You bet it all on nothing?" Irritation could be seen on Geto's face.
"Yeah. I don't have it on me right now, but if I go back to my family I could get it easily." Toji's laughter was barely restrained behind his smile.
"You are... Unique to say the least, sensei." Geto's head sunk into the recliner seat in exhaustion because of the mind games between him and Toji.
Silence prevailed through the cabin as Geto fell asleep and Toji continued to read his playboy magazine while eating popcorn.
Meanwhile in the cockpit Gojo could be seen sleeping emitting loud snoring sounds from his mouth, yet his hands somehow controlled the navigation at the same time.
