Battle Between the Sisters

The episode starts with Jessie, James, Annie, and Oakley all training for the sister's upcoming top sixteen match with Domino and Meowth watching them.

Domino looks at Meowth. "I have to say, Jessie and James are focused on letting one of these sisters win."

Meowth scoffs and crosses his arms. "Not surprising here."

"Azurill!" Azurill cries out in joy.

It cuts to Jessie and Annie talking. "Alright, you know your sister's Pokémon more than anyone's, right?" Jessie asked.

Annie nods in response. "However, she might not be the brightest bulb in the house, but she is a good battler and I know she also knows my Pokémon too."

It cuts to James and Oakley talking now. "Okay, so I'm assuming you know your sister's Pokémon a lot and know her strategies, right?"

Oakley laughs. "The hell I do. I don't pay attention to her nerd Pokémon or strategies at all. I just know that I'm going to win easily!"

James has a frown on his face. "You know that Pokémon battling isn't just assuming, right? You have to figure out your opponent's battle strategy and use their weaknesses to your advantage. Which should've been easy because she's your sister."

"Quick being a nerd, you're starting to sound like my sister. Look, I just go out there and battle my sister. That's just how I roll, James. Man, you used to be so cool during our biker gang days together. Did that blonde girl with the pink hat turn you uncool?"

James groans, facepalming. "This is going to be a long training session…"

The title screen shows.

"Battle Between the Sisters"

It cuts to Jessie and James standing a little far away from Annie and Oakley to make a made-up battlefield between them. "Okay before your guy's match, we're gonna have a tag team battle as the final test of your training," Jessie says.

Oakley groans in annoyance. "I hate tests. It's like high school all over again!"

"Sis, can you focus please?" Annie asked, rhetorically. "I want our battle to at least be entertaining."

Oakley rolls her eyes in response. "Whatever you say."

"How much do you want to bet on who's going to win this tag team battle?" Meowth asked Domino. "I got Jess and Jimmy."

Domino gasps, feeling offended. "I am not gambling in front of my baby Azurill, thank you very much."

"Wow okay, I wasn't going to bet money… unless you wanted to." Meowth chuckles.

Jessie and James pull out a Poké Ball, sending out both of their Pokémon. "Scizor, I choose you! Gengar, you're up!"

Both Scizor and Gengar materialize onto the made-up battlefield as Scizor says its battle cry and Gengar says a remark. "Scizor!" "About time you sent me out. I don't know how long I was stuck in that Poké Ball!"

James sighs. "Just battle, okay?"

Annie and Oakley both pull out a Poké Ball as well, sending out their Pokémon. "Marowak, I choose you!" "Vileplume, take the stage, bestie!"

Marowak and Vileplume both materialize, shouting their battle cry. "Marowak!" "Vileplume!"

James commands the first move of this tag team battle. "Gengar, use Confuse Ray on Marowak!"

Gengar floats towards Marowak and their eyes glow red. "Look in my eyes, what do you see, Marowak?"

Marowak gets confused while staring directly at Gengar and starts getting dizzy a little. "Marowak?"

Annie grits her teeth. "Oh, you will pay for that, James! Marowak, use Bonemerang on Gengar!"

Marowak throws its bone in the air randomly from being confused and accidentally hits Vileplume.

"Vileplume!" Vileplume cries in pain and takes damage.

"Vileplume!" Oakley angrily turns to her sister. "Did you see what your pathetic Marowak did? It hit my Vileplume!"

"Well I'm sorry, Marowak is currently confused right now, sis!" Annie snapped back.

Oakley scoffs. "Sure, blame on the confusion!"

Annie gasps that her sister doesn't believe her. "Are you calling me a liar?!"

Jessie and James looked at each other awkwardly from seeing the sisters fighting each other. "Umm… girls, our battle?" Jessie reminded.

"I don't care if you believe me or not, but I'm winning this battle!" Annie says.

"Well it's not your turn, so sit down! Vileplume, use Sweet Scent!" Oakley commanded.

"Scizor, use your Agility to dodge the upcoming attack!" Jessie countered.

Vileplume releases a pink powder from its big center flower but Scizor quickly disappears to dodge it from its fast speed. Scizor kept reappearing and disappeared all over the made-up battlefield until the Pokémon appeared right behind Marowak.

"Right there, Scizor is right there, Vileplume!" Oakley pointed out.

"HEY, WAIT A MINUTE-" Annie tried to warn.

But it was too late as Vileplume released more pink powder right from the center of its big flower toward where Scizor was. Scizor disappears from its fast agility and appears in front of Jessie as the Sweet Scent ends up hitting Marowak, making the bone keeper Pokémon in a trance-like and relaxed state.

Annie immediately yells at Oakley for her mistake. "Did you ever realize that Scizor was behind my Marowak, or are you too stupid to pay attention?!"

Oakley immediately argues back. "Maybe if you commanded your Marowak to jump out of the way or quickly avoid it, the Sweet Scent could've hit Scizor!"

Annie yells back in response with anger. "MY MAROWAK IS CURRENTLY CONFUSED, YOU DUMBASS!"

Annie's yell and insult cause everyone to widen their eyes as a few gasp from being shocked. Oakley immediately gets mad, staring down at her sister. "You know, I was planning on taking it easy on you, sis, but now… I'm going to destroy you in our league matchup today and rip your dreams of becoming champion right from your hands! All of your months of studying are going to go down to waste by me!"

Azurill immediately turns around and buries its face in Domino's chest to avoid seeing this argument go down as Domino pets her baby blue mouse Pokémon. "It's okay, Azurill." She whispered.

Annie completely stared down at her sister for a couple of seconds of silence before responding. "I felt bad facing you at first, but I'm going to expose you and prove that the only way to win matches is to study! Just remember that you wouldn't be here in the first place if it wasn't for me, sis, and you know it! I would say good luck during our matchup today, but from the many mistakes you keep making in this battle, there's no hope for you at all."

After a few seconds of staring down at the sisters, both of them recalled their Pokémon, turned around, and went in the opposite direction from each other. "So… what about this battle?" Gengar asked, turning to their trainer.

"I guessed that it was never finished, it's a draw by default," James recalls Gengar in their Poké Ball.

Jessie also recalls Scizor back in its Poké Ball as she frowns. "I feel like this is our fault. If we didn't try to prepare for their battle, none of this wouldn't have happened!"

Meowth claps in delight. "That was awesome! Way more interesting than that tag team battle!"

Everyone turns to the talking Pokémon and glares at him. "MEOWTH!"

Meowth crosses his arms and looks away. "Hmph!"

It cuts to the Team Rocket trio spying on the gang afar with binoculars, witnessing the argument the sisters had a few minutes ago. "That was some argument there," Cassidy says with a chuckle.

"I love a good catfight in the morning!" Butch says with a chuckle.

"Speaking of cats, what's the plan on stealing Meowth this time of the day?" Mondo asked.

Cassidy chuckles as she crosses her arms, leading her partners-in-crime to think that she has a plan. "Oh, I have no plan at all. My mind is completely blank!"

Butch and Mondo immediately fall in disbelief, but quickly get back up. "Then why are we spying on the twerps?!" Butch asked in disbelief. "Yeah, what's the whole point if we don't have a plan?" Mondo also asked.

Cassidy shrugs in response. "I'm bored, okay?" Something catches her attention as she turns back to the gang with her binoculars and so do Butch and Mondo. "What's this?"

It cuts back to the gang as Samantha arrives with a greeting and wave. "Hey guys!"

The gang all waved and greeted Samantha back. "Hey, Samantha!"

Samantha turns to Jessie. "Say, Jessie, can I ask you something?"

Jessie nods. "Sure Sam, what's up?"

"I always wonder, can you tell me some interesting stories of how you overcame the eight Gym Leaders to earn your eight badges for the league tournament if you don't mind telling? I'm always up for a story." Samantha asked.

"Oh? I mean sure, yeah I will!" Jessie replied with a smile.

"I could hear a story," Domino says as she, James, and Meowth all gathered around Samantha to hear Jessie as well.

"Great! I'm ready when you are!" Samantha says.

Jessie starts telling the story of how she earned her badges to Samantha. "Alright, let's start with the first-ever badge I earned and it was the Boulder Badge-"

It cuts back to the Team Rocket trio spying and hearing what Jessie is telling Samantha about how she earned her badges. Cassidy immediately catches on to what's happening. "I know what that blonde cheerleader brat is doing. She's trying to get the twerpette to tell her about beating the boss!"

"Oh shit, I think you're right, Cass! What should we do?" Butch asked.

"We got to do something before our blonde twerpette tells her about the Earth Badge!" Mondo exclaimed.

"Relax guys, I got a plan." Cassidy grins as she tells her partners-in-crime her plan. "We attempt to steal Meowth right before our blonde twerpette tells the annoying cheerleader about beating the boss. We wild goose chase them just right before the next league match."

"I like that plan, but… we're in for another blastoff." Mondo sighs.

"Sometimes a blastoff is necessary," Cassidy explains why. "We can't have the twerpette spoil the beans about beating the boss to that cheerleader. If that happens, whoever the cheerleader is working for has the advantage and could take over Kanto and run Team Rocket out!"

"So we're doing this to help Team Rocket and not the twerpette, right?" Butch asked.

Cassidy nods. "Of course duh, I will never help the twerpette unless it's necessary and this is necessary. Team Rocket, roll out!"

Butch and Mondo both pump their fist in the air with a cheer. "Yeah!"

Muk breaks out of their Poké Ball. "Muk!"

Cassidy growls and recalls her Muk. "I swear, there needs to be a button or something to lock these things."

As Team Rocket gets their plan into action, it cuts to Jessie with her friends and Samantha with Jessie continuing to tell Samantha about her badges as she is about to finish telling about her Volcano Badge. "And then I won the Volcano Badge from Blaine. My Rapidash was determined to beat Blaine's Magmar after suffering defeat from it last time and came out on top. Blaine respected me and gave me the Volcano Badge, my seventh Gym badge. Now we move on to the final eighth badge that I won!"

Samantha starts speaking inside her mind. "This is it, the final badge of hers. This has to be the Earth Badge from Giovanni! Come on, reveal it to me!"

"So a very crazy story about this final badge of mine, I think you will find this the most interesting, Samantha. You see, the Gym Leader was someone named-"

Before Jessie could finish mentioning the Gym Leader's name to Samantha, Meowth gets grabbed by a pair of robotic hands. "HEY!" Meowth shouted.

Jessie, her friends, and Samantha all look to see Team Rocket standing in front of them. "TEAM ROCKET!" The gang shouted.

"Guess who! Did you miss us?" Cassidy rhetorically asked with a laugh.

"As if!" Domino replied. "Now hand over Meowth, you criminals!"

Samantha secretly growls and starts talking inside her mind again. "These criminals are annoying the hell out of me! They keep getting in my way, I have to do something to them to make sure they permanently stay out of my way for good."

"You guys better hand back my Meowth right now!" Jessie demanded, clutching her fist in anger.

"We will hand you over something better and that's trouble!" Cassidy said, cueing the motto had Butch slides in. "And you should be grateful because we're making it double!" "To infect the world with devastation!" "To blight all people within every nation!" "To denounce the goodness of truth and love!" "To extend our wrath to the stars above!" A mini room shows nothing but darkness until a spotlight turns on to reveal Cassidy. "Cassidy!" Then another spotlight turns on to reveal Butch. "Butch!" "We're Team Rocket, circling Earth all day and night!" "Surrender to us now or you will surely lose the fight!" The whole mini room lights up to reveal Mondo. "I'm Mondo, alright!"

Back to the outside world after their motto, James steps in with annoyance. "We get it already, you three always say the same thing to us every time. Just hand us Meowth, already!"

"You have to catch us!" Mondo says as he and his partners-in-crime get ready to run. "And off we go!" Team Rocket said before running away with Meowth.

"Get back here!" Jessie turns to Samantha. "Sorry Samantha but I'm going to have to cut this story short to get Meowth back from them, I hope you understand."

Samantha puts on a fake smile and nods. "Of course, I understand! Get Meowth back from Team Rocket."

Jessie smiles for a little bit at Samantha and bows. "Thank you!" She puts her serious face back on and turns to her friends. "Let's get Meowth back before we're late to Annie and Oakley's league match!"

Both Domino and James nod. "Right!" The gang goes and chases after Team Rocket, leaving Samantha alone as her fake smiles quickly fade into anger. "Soon, I will find out, Jessie, very soon…"

It cuts to Team Rocket running away from the gang with Meowth in their grasp. "How about you three idiots just save the trouble and let me go already?" Meowth says. "Jessie will catch up and save me, she always does!"

Cassidy angrily looks at Meowth. "We're doing this to help your twerpette of a trainer! Listen fur ball, I know you don't trust the three of us, but there's someone else that you shouldn't trust at all and it's that cheerleader girl!"

Mondo nods. "Yeah, she's bad news! I think she's more evil than us!"

Butch groans and crosses his arms. "I have to admit, we do have competition."

Meowth raises an eyebrow. "What are you three mumbling about now? That cheerleader girl seems nice and wouldn't hurt a fly."

Cassidy scoffs. "That's what you think, but-"

Cassidy was cut off from the voice of Jessie above the trio. "There they are!" The trio and Meowth look up to see the gang riding on Charizard with Scizor out. "Scizor, use Metal Claw on that gadget that's holding Meowth!"

"Scizor!" Scizor starts dashing towards the robotic hands that are holding onto Meowth as one of its claws becomes metallic.

Cassidy looks at her partners-in-crime. "You think this is good enough?"

Butch and Mondo both nod as the Team Rocket trio let Scizor destroy the robotic hands with Metal Claw and free Meowth. "I'm free!" Meowth says in joy.

Charizard lands on the ground as Jessie hops off and rescues Meowth. "I'm so glad you're okay!" She then looks at Team Rocket with a glare. "Alright Team Rocket, time to pay for your crime! James!"

James nods. "Got it! Charizard, use Fire Blast and send Team Rocket packing!"

"Well, I guess this is it," Cassidy says as the Team Rocket trio holds onto each other in fear.

Charizard roars, opening its mouth, and releases an orange-yellow-like flame shaped like a kanji right at Team Rocket.

"And Meowth, you use Thunderbolt, put the nail in the coffin!" Jessie commanded.

Meowth jumps up in the air and releases flows of electricity from its fur, combining with Charizard's Fire Blast, Team Rocket gets burnt and electricity to a crisp, automatic being sent in the air and currently blasting off.

"I don't think this blastoff is worth it anymore," Butch says, coughing black smoke.

"Do you think anyone will notice that we did a good deed for the twerpette?" Cassidy asked.

Mondo shrugs in response. "I don't know, but what we do know is…"

"WE'RE BLASTING OFF AGAIN!" The Team Rocket trio shouted. Ding!

"Those three will never learn…" Jessie said while looking at the sky where Team Rocket blasted off before turning to James. "Thanks for the help, James!"

"Of course!" James replied with a smile.

Domino sees a nearby clock and realizes the time. "Um guys, the league match between Annie and Oakley is about to start soon!"

Jessie also looked at the nearby clock and her eyes widened. "Even if we sprint all the way there, we will still be late for it!"

"There is another way!" James hops on the back of his Charizard. "If Charizard can fly us to the stadium, we should barely make it in time!"

"Good idea, Jimmy!" Meowth complimented.

Jessie, Domino, and Meowth all joined in with James and hopped onto the back of Charizard. James points his finger and commands his flame Pokémon. "Charizard, fly us to the Indigo Stadium!"

Charizard roars and spreads its wings and begins flying to the Indigo Stadium, carrying the gang on its back while doing so. The scene cuts to the Indigo Stadium with the announcer in the middle, about to announce the competitors. "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to another potential great top-sixteen matchup! Today is a special matchup as our two competitors are both from Saffron City and are sisters. Give us a warm welcome to Annie and Oakley!"

The crowd interrupts in cheers, and both Annie and Oakley slowly arrive at their corner of the battlefield from the locker room. The two sisters are staring each other down with hatred. Jessie and her friends immediately sprint to their seats and barely make it to the match in time. "That was a close one!" Jessie says, sighing in relief.

"Your Charizard saved our bacon this time, James," Domino says with a chuckle.

"Azurill!" Azurill happily cheers out.

James rubs the back of his head, blushing a little. "It was nothing. After all, I can't be late to the match where Oakley is going to win."

Jessie's expression goes from happy to annoyed. "Um actually, Annie's going to win, James…"

James scoffs. "Yeah right! My training with Oakley was more intense and more passionate, so, therefore, she's going to win!"

"You wanna bet?!" Jessie fired back.

"Yeah, I wanna bet!" James agreed.

Meowth facepalms from disbelief. "Oh no…"

"And as always, our Elite Four members and Champion are watching the match going down!" The announcer said, showing every Elite Four member on each side of the crowd and Lance in the skybox, ready to watch the battle. "Now let this match begin!"

The referee holds up a coin. "Oakley has heads and Annie has tails." They flip it and then catch it with their hand. The coin displays Pikachu's tail on it at the front. "It is tails, so Oakley will send the Pokémon out first. May the battle begin!"

Oakley pulls out a Poké Ball, sending out her first Pokémon into the battle. "Hypno, I choose you!"

Hypno materializes on the battlefield. "Hypno!"

"If you're choosing a psychic type then I'll choose this Pokémon!" Annie pulls out a Poké Ball. "Pinsir, I choose you!" She sends out Pinsir to battle against the Hypno.

Pinsir materializes on the battlefield. "Pinsir!"

Domino immediately shakes in fear at the sight of Pinsir. "A-a bug…"

Meowth groans. "Don't start now, Domino…"

Oakley commands the first move of the battle. "Use Meditate, Hypno!"

Hypno sets on the ground, closes its eyes, and begins meditating on the ground, increasing its attack by one stage.

Annie commands her first move in the battle. "Take that Hypno out with Fury Cutter, Pinsir!"

Pinsir's pincers on the top of its head began to glow white, then started flying towards Hypno, about to slash them.

"Hypno, dodge it!" Oakley countered.

Hypno's eyes shoot open, swinging its pendulum, then they teleport out of the way to dodge the Fury Cutter, and then reappear at a different location on the battlefield.

"Now use Disable!" Oakley commanded.

"Hypno!" Hypno's eyes glow blue and then a blue aura surrounds Pinsir, disabling Fury Cutter.

Oakley laughs. "Now you can't use your super-effective move until a couple of turns!"

Annie growls. "Pinsir, grab a hold of Hypno and use Vice Grip!"

Pinsir starts disappearing and then reappears on the battlefield, trying to confuse it, and it's working as Hypno scratches its head. "Hypno?"

Then Pinsir appears right behind Hypno. "Pinsir!" The stag beetle Pokémon picks up Hypno with its pincers and starts crushing the hypnosis Pokémon with them.

"HYPNO!" Hypno screams out in a lot of pain, dropping its pendulum to the ground in the process.

Oakley begins to become worried. "Hypno, get out of Pinsir's pincers by teleporting!"

While in pain, Hypno slowly starts moving its hand, thinking of still having its pendulum, until realizing they don't, unable to teleport. "HYPNO?!"

"Aw crap! Hypno drops its pendulum! I have to recall it." Oakley pulls out her Poké Ball. "Hypno, return!"

Annie quickly tries to prevent a switch out. "Pinsir, don't make my sis recall Hypno! Run around the battlefield while still having Hypno by the pincers!"

A red beam comes out of Hypno's Poké Ball, heading to the hypnosis Pokémon, but Pinsie quickly disappears and reappears in a different area of the battlefield, trying to avoid Hypno from being recalled by its trainer.

Oakley growls. "Stay still, you oversized beetle! I want to recall my Hypno!" She tries to recall Hypno again, and another red beam comes out of the center of the Poké Ball.

"Don't let her do it, Pinsir. Just keep moving while crushing Hypno with your Vice Grip!" Annie countered.

As the red beam from the Poké Ball gets closer to Hypno, Pinsir disappears and reappears once more in a different location on the battlefield, crushing the hypnosis Pokémon more with its two pincers. "HYPNO!" Hypno cries more in pain from the Vice Grip.

Oakley growls. "I can't recall my Hypno, that big will just run away again! And Hypno doesn't have its pendulum, which means I can get Hypno out of there with its psychic powers!"

"Go ahead and forfeit this round, sis! There's nothing to do!" Annie laughs.

Oakley starts talking inside her mind. "What's going on with Annie? She never battles like this… is she that upset with me?"

"Are you going to forfeit or not? Pinsir, crush Hypno even harder with your Vice Grip!" Annie commanded.

Pinsir starts crushing Hypno even harder with its pincers, causing Hypno to scream out louder even in more pain than before. "HYPNO! HYPNO!"

"FINE! FINE!" Oakley screamed out. "I forfeit this round, just command your oversized beetle to let go of my Hypno!"

"Pinsir, let go of Hypno," Annie commanded like Oakley said.

"Pinsir!" Pinsir drops Hypno to the ground, as the hypnosis Pokémon is just lying there without moving a muscle.

The referee holds up the green flag. "Oakley has forfeited the round, therefore the winner is the green corner!"

"That was a complete foul! Annie should've let Oakley recall Hypno!" James says, frustrated.

"By fall, you mean a great strategy?" Jessie replied. "If Annie couldn't have done that, wouldn't the league have disqualified her right about now?"

James doesn't reply as he just looks away and crosses his arms, annoyed. "Hmph!"

"Hypno, return!" Oakley was able to finally recall her Hypno. "You want to play dirty, sis? Fine, have it your way! I was going to save this Pokémon for last, but screw it! Vileplume, you're up next!"

Vileplume materializes. "Vileplume!"

Oakley immediately commands the first move of this round. "Vileplume, use Sleep Powder!"

Vileplume releases a blue, sparkling powder from the center of the petals on top of its head right at Pinsir.

"Pinsir, dodge it!" Annie countered.

Pinsir tries to dodge the Sleep Powder, but the powder is faster, hitting the stag beetle Pokémon and Pinsir drops to the ground, falling asleep.

Annie grits her teeth. "Dammit!"

"Now Vileplume, return!" Oakley recalls her Vileplume and then pulls out a different Pokémon. "Rhydon, I choose you!"

Rhydon materializes on the battlefield. "Rhydon!"

"Now Rhydon, use Fury Attack!" Oakley commanded.

Rhydon repeatedly thrusts the horn on its nose at Pinsir, dealing damage to the stag beetle Pokémon while it was sleeping. Rhydon does this five times and Pinsir remains sleeping.

Annie tries to get Pinsir to wake up by yelling. "Come on Pinsir, wake up!"

Oakley commands the same move. "Rhydon, use Fury Attack again!"

"Rhydon!" Rhydon once more repeatedly thrust its horn at Pinsir five times, dealing more and more damage.

To Annie's disbelief, her Pinsir is still sleeping despite getting attacked by Fury Attack. "How is my Pinsir still sleeping?!"

Oakley chuckles. "My Vileplume has some strong Sleep Powder! Now Rhydon, Fury Attack again!"

Rhydon hits Pinsir with its horn over and over again, completely dealing a lot of damage to Pinsir. The stag beetle's eyes shoot up, finally waking up as Rhydon quickly steps back.

"Yes, finally my Pinsir woke up! Alright Pinsir use-" Annie was about to command a move until she saw the sight of her Pinsir dropping to the ground and fainting from battle.

The referee holds up the red flag. "Pinsir is unable to battle, therefore the winner of this round is the red corner!"

Jessie's jaw drops in disbelief. "That was completely unfair!"

James immediately turns to Jessie with a frustrated look, "And now you want to complain about unfairness yet you defended Annie's actions from the previous round?!"

Domino clutches her fist in anger. "Guys! If I didn't have Azurill with me, I would've screamed at you guys, but stop arguing and fighting and just watch the battle!"

Jessie and James just stay silent and continue watching the battle after what Domino said to them.

"Thank you so much, Domino!" Meowth bows to her in gratitude.

Oakley crosses her arms and smirks. "You want to play dirty, sis? Be my guess, because I can too!"

Annie growls at her sis before recalling her Pinsir. "Pinsir, return!" She pulls out a different Poké Ball. "Kangaskhan, take care of that Rhydon!" Annie sends out Kangaskhan next.

Kangaskhan materializes on the battlefield. "Kangaskhan!"

Annie commands the first move of the round. "Kangaskhan, use Dizzy Punch, let's go!"

"Dodge it, Rhydon!" Oakley countered.

Kangaskhan goes in for a punch to Rhydon, but the drill Pokémon leans to the right to avoid the punch.

"Now use Take Down, Rhydon!" Oakley commanded.

"You dodge that move, Kangaskhan!" Annie also countered.

"Rhydon!" Rhydon starts charging at Kangaskhan, but she quickly sidesteps to dodge the Take Down.

"Now use Dizzy Punch!" Annie quickly commands.

Kangaskhan quickly punches Rhydon after trying to use Take Down. She punches the drill Pokémon so hard that Rhydon starts spinning as a result and then the drill Pokémon gets confused once it stops spinning.

Oakley growls. "Just my luck! Rhydon, try to use Earthquake!"

Rhydon avoids confusion and stomps the ground, shaking the battlefield and causing Kangaskhan to fall and take some major damage, as she screams out in intense pain.

"Kangaskhan, use Reversal!" Annie commanded.

"Kangaskhan!" A wave of orange energy bursts out of the ground around Kangaskhan and one of its fists becomes covered in orange energy. She dashes at Rhydon and punches the drill Pokémon right to the face, dealing a lot of damage because of the damage Kangaskhan took from that Earthquake.

Oakley commands the same move, trying to take out Kangaskhan. "Use Earthquake again, Rhydon!"

Rhydon stomps the ground once more, but this time, the drill Pokémon only falls as the confusion causes Rhydon to deal damage to itself instead.

"Now use Mega Punch, Kangaskhan!" Annie commanded.

"Kangaskhan!" Kangaskhan punches Rhydon right in the face with great force, causing the drill Pokémon to fall to the ground from the impact.

"Rhydon, no!" Oakley tries to command her Rhydon to stand up. "Come on, Rhydon! You gotta get up!"

Rhydon does slowly get up, still able to fight. "Rhydon…"

Oakley clutches her fist up with excitement. "Yes! End this round now with Horn Drill, let's go!"

"Rhydon!" Rhydon starts dashing right towards Kangaskhan while spinning its drill repeatedly, glowing orange.

"KANGASKHAN, USE ENDURE!" Annie screamed out.

Kangaskhan crosses her arms and closes her eyes, about to brace for impact as Rhydon stabs Kangaskhan with its spinning drill horn, the impact causes smoke to surround Rhydon and Kangaskhan. Rhydon immediately gets out of the smoke and retreats to its side of the battlefield, staring at the smoke.

Oakley laughs. "And that should be the end of the round!" When the smoke clears, her laugh immediately drops as she sees Kangaskhan still barely standing after the Horn Drill. "How is your Kangaskhan still standing?! Horn Drill is a one knockout move!"

"This is why you should pay more attention to school, sis." Annie starts explaining to her sister. "Endure is a move that always leaves a Pokémon down to only one health point, no matter what the move is. And since Kangaskhan's health is so low, that means Reversal is stronger than ever! Kangaskhan, use Reversal!"

"RHYDON, DODGE IT!" Oakley screamed out from being worried.

One of Kangaskhan's fists begins to be covered in orange energy, while a wave of orange energy bursts out of the ground around her too. Kangaskhan dashes to Rhydon, the drill Pokémon tries to dodge it by leaning to the left, but Kangaskhan still nails Rhydon with a very powerful punch right to the face. Rhydon immediately drops to the ground and faints.

The referee holds up the green flag. "Rhydon is unable to battle, which means the green comer wins this round!"

Jessie clutches her fist in excitement. "There you go, Annie! Teach your sister a lesson!"

James counters Jessie's cheer by cheering for Oakley. "You still got this, Oakley, you can still win this!"

Domino sighs. "At least they're not arguing…"

"Azurill!" Azurill cries out in joy.

Oakley recalls her Rhydon back in its Poké Ball. "Rhydon, return!" She pulls out Vileplume's Poké Ball. "You're the only one that I got left, I know you can win this for me! Vileplume, you're back into the game!" Oakley sends her Vileplume back onto the battlefield.

Vileplume materializes once more. "Vileplume!"

Annie chuckles. "Oh Oakley, don't forget that since Kangaskhan is down to one health point, that means one Reversal can one-shot your Vileplume even at full health! Kangaskhan, use Reversal!"

"Kangaskhan!" Kangaskhan's fist starts to be covered in orange energy and then bursts around the ground near her as well. She starts dashing towards Vileplume, about to put this round to an end early.

"Vileplume, use Stun Spore and paralyze that Kangaskhan!" Oakley countered.

Vileplume releases a sparkling orange powder with white sparkles in it from the hole on its head, sending it right at the charging Kangaskhan.

"Crap! Kangaskhan, retreat from using Reversal and dodge that Stun Spore!" Annoy countered.

All of the orange energy surrounding Kangaskhan disappears so she can quickly dodge the Stun Spore so she can't get paralyzed.

"I need to confuse your Vileplume before I can put the nail in the coffin! Kangaskhan, use Dizzy Punch!"

"Kangaskhan!" Kangaskhan was right in front of Vileplume, getting ready to punch the flower Pokémon with great force.

"I don't think so! Vileplume, use Sweet Scent!" Oakley countered.

"Vileplume!" Vileplume releases a pink powder from its big flower right at Kangaskhan, making her feel relaxed and canceling the move.

"No! Not Sweet Scent!" Annie yelled out in disbelief.

"Oh yes, Sweet Scent! Vileplume, use Petal Dance!" Oakley commanded.

Vileplume stretches the opening on its flower at the opponent and releases pink petals in a spiraling fashion at Kangaskhan. She gets hit by the pink petals and drops to the ground and faints from battle.

The referee holds up the red flag. "Kangaskhan is unable to battle, which means the winner of this round is the red corner!"

James laughs. "And just like that, it's all tied up and Kangaskhan didn't even leave one single hit on Vileplume! Oakley can still win this!"

Jessie starts slowly talking to herself. "Come on Annie, please get this win! Think of our training together!"

"Kangaskhan, return!" Annie recalls her Kangaskhan back in her Poké Ball and pulls out a different one. "Marowak, you're my final Pokémon for this battle, let's go!" She sends out Marowak to battle against Vileplume.

Marowak materializes. "Marowak!"

"Vileplume is Oakley's ace Pokémon and Marowak is Annie's ace Pokémon, this is gonna go down to the last wire!" Domino stated.

"And I'm all up for it! I should've gotten some delicious butter popcorn!" Meowth says, licking his lips.

"I have the advantage, Annie. You can't win!" Oakley stated.

"Oh yeah? Marowak, use Fire Blast!" Annie commanded.

"Marowak!" Marowak pulls out another bone and starts rubbing the fastest it can, causing a flame of fire shaped like the kanji right at Vileplume.

"AH! VILEPLUME DODGE IT!" Oakley screamed out.

Vileplume quickly dodges the Fire Blast by jumping out of the way.

"Now use Fire Punch!" Annie commanded.

Marowak's arm began to be surrounded in flames, jumping right at Vileplume and punching the flower Pokémon with a fiery fist.

"VILEPLUME!" Vileplume screams out in pain from receiving major super-effective damage.

"Why did you teach your Marowak these fire-type moves?!" Oakley asked in disbelief.

Annie smirks in response. "For this specific battle of course and this specific Pokémon of yours!"

Oakley growls. "Vileplume, use Petal Dance!"

"Vileplume!" Vileplume stretches the opening on its flower at Marowak and releases pink petals in a spiraling fashion at the bone keeper Pokémon.

"MAROWAK!" It was Marowak's turn to scream in a lot of pain from a super effective move, getting flung back to its side of the battlefield.

"Now use Sweet Scent!" Oakley commanded.

Vileplume Vileplume releases a pink powder from its big flower right at Marowak.

"Marowak, use your two bones as a fan and fling it right back at Vileplume!" Annie countered.

"Marowak!" Marowak starts spinning its two bones fast and rapidly like a fan, blowing the Sweet Scent right back at Vileplume.

Vileplume gets hit with its own Sweet Scent. "Vile…plume."

"Oh no! My Sweet Scent, it got countered against me!" Oakley begins panicking.

"Now use False Swipe!" Annie commanded.

"Marowak!" Marowak swipes Vileplume hard with its one bone, causing major damage to Vileplume.

"VILEPLUME!" Vileplume looks close to fainting.

Annie clutches her fist. "And now end this battle with Fire Punch, Marowak!"

Marowak's arm began to be surrounded in flames, about to punch the Vileplume with a fiery fist and end it.

Oakley starts smirking, waiting for the right moment for Marowak to get close. "NOW, PETAL DANCE!"

"WHAT?!" Annie yelled out in disbelief.

Vileplume immediately looks like it isn't affected by its own Sweet Scent anymore and quickly releases pink petals in a spiraling fashion right at Marowak, hitting the Pokémon.

"MAROWAK!" Marowak screams out in intense pain before getting flung back by the Petal Dance, causing the bone keeper Pokémon to hit a wall and faint from the battle.

The referee holds up the red flag and declares the battle. "Marowak is unable to battle. Therefore the winner of this battle and moving on to the top eight is Oakley from the red corner!"

The crowd erupts in major cheers after the conclusion of the battle, the Elite Four members and Lance all clapping. James is clapping and cheering the loudest. "GOOD JOB, OAKLEY, YOU GO GIRL!"

Jessie is looking down in defeat. "I can't believe this… all of that training is down the drain."

"I know I could count on you, Vileplume! I'm so glad I have you on my team!" Oakley says with a delightful smile.

Vileplume looks back at its trainer, smiling back, and cries cheerfully. "Vileplume!"

"You deserve a good rest! Return!" Oakley recalls her Vileplume back in her Poké Ball.

Annie sighs in defeat, recalling Marowak back in its Poké Ball. "You did good, Marowak, go ahead and take a big test." She turns around and starts heading to the locker room.

Oakley sees her sister head to the locker room and frowns as she starts following her. The gang sees the two sisters from the crowd heading to the locker room, they all look at each other and nod before leaving the area and heading to the locker room as well. It cuts to the locker room with Annie sitting down on a bench and looking down in defeat.

"Hey… you're okay?" Oakley walks up to her sister.

Annie sighs. "I can't believe all of that studying was wasted. I thought that Sweet Scent was affecting your Vileplume. What happened?"

Oakley starts explaining. "Well you see, a grass Pokémon cannot be affected by its own Sweet Scent. I trained Vileplume to make it look like they got affected to give our enemies a false sense of security. Pretty smart, huh?"

"Wait…" Annie looks up at her sister. "Did you learn that in school?!"

"UMM!" Oakley immediately shakes her head no. "No! James taught me during our training, yeah!" She lied. "You know how much I hate school, sis."

"Oh… well, I guess you won, you have beaten your big sister." Annie chuckles. "I'm sorry about getting in a fight with you earlier and what I did to your Hypno, I shouldn't have done that."

Oakley apologizes to her back. "And I'm sorry too, our argument and what I did to your Pinsir."

As the two sisters hug, the gang soon enters the locker room from the crowd, immediately breaking the hug once hearing footsteps. "Is everything okay? We saw you feeling down when you lost, Annie." Domino says.

Annie nods and gives Domino a thumbs-up. "Yep! Everything is okay here! My sister and I apologized earlier and made up!"

"That's lovely and I believe two other people need to apologize too about their behavior towards each other?" Meowth looks directly at both Jessie and James.

Jessie and James rub the back of their heads embarrassingly before both apologizing to each other at the same time. "Sorry."

The P.A. announcements turn on. "Remaining top eight league trainers, all of our top sixteen battles have been concluded. Your top eight matchups for tomorrow are about to be posted in the central building. Thank you!"

Jessie and Oakley look at each other, the two trainers that are in the top eight. "Are you ready to head to the central building?"

Oakley nods. "Ready as ever!"

The scene cuts to the gang and the two sisters arriving at the central building, the double doors opening up for them as the group steps inside.

"Hey, Jessie!" Leaf rushes to the group and waves.

"Hey, Leaf!" Jessie greeted back, "Who's your top eight opponent?" She asked.

"I don't know. The matchups haven't been posted yet, but I think they are right now!" Leaf says.

Jessie, Oakley, and Leaf all pay attention to the screen as the top eight matchups have been posted. Oakley smirks, looking at her matchup. "Well, well, well." She looks directly at Jessie. "I guess they couldn't wait for this rematch to happen."

"Huh?" Jessie sees her icon and it's revealed that she's battling Oakley in the top eight. "Oh… I'm your top eight opponent."

"Are you serious?!" Annie said in disbelief.

"I'm going to have a difficult time rooting for who…" James says.

Dominic looks directly at James with an annoyed face. "It's obvious who you should root for, James…"

"Silver hair is next, huh? We got this Jessie, as always!" Meowth says with a confident smirk.

"I would shut your Meowth's trap, you don't want him to jinx you, right?" Oakley laughs as she leaves the building with her sister following her.

Jessie glares directly at Meowth who just looks away and awkwardly whistles. She just rolls her eyes and looks at Leaf. "Who's your opponent, Leaf?"

Leaf didn't respond immediately, she was too focused on looking at her opponent, it was Samantha. "It's her… Samantha."

"Oh, Samantha? She's one tough trainer, so I would try my best to stay focused if I were you." Jessie says.

"Samantha…" Meowth starts to have a quick flashback of what Team Rocket, specifically Cassidy, told him earlier.

"Listen fur ball, I know you don't trust the three of us, but there's someone else that you shouldn't trust at all and it's that cheerleader girl!"

The quick flashback ends as Meowth looks at Leaf, who has a displeasing look on her face and begins talking inside his mind. "From that expression, I think Leaf doesn't trust that Samantha girl too… hmm."

"The top eight matchups are here. Jessie battling against Oakley and Leaf battling against Samantha, who's growing quite suspicious of her. Who's going to make it to the top four and who's not? Find out as the journey continues!"

The scene cuts to the Team Rocket trio arriving back at the entrance of the Indigo Plateau after being blasted off into the sky last time. "Finally, we made it back!" Cassidy said with a smile.

"My feet are tired, I'm going to take a rest after walking so many miles to get back here," Butch says.

"You said it Butch, I might even go and steal some food because my stomach is starving!" Mondo added.

Before Team Rocket can step foot back in the Indigo Plateau, they hear the sound of a trainer commanding their Persian to use a move. "Persian, use Hypnosis!"

"Huh?" Team Rocket all said, looking around before a Persian jumped up from the bushes, the red gem on its head immediately glowing, and hypnosis waves were shot out, causing the Team Rocket trio to drop to the ground and fall asleep.

Samantha reveals herself from coming out of hiding with a smirk. "Nice work, Persian. Help me drag their sleeping body before anyone else sees."

Persian nods. "Persian!"

Samantha grabs Cassidy's unconscious body, as Persian grabs both one of Butch and Mondo's unconscious legs each with its mouth as the two begin dragging the Team Rocket trio.
