A Change for Love

The school bell rang and everyone bustled through the door, as if a flood of humans was racing through them.

Antic roars and voices filled their surroundings which Aanya wasn't really familiar with.

Yaksh, noticing this, told her, "It's their way of celebrating…I guess?" he wasn't sure himself, since he had never screamed as such.

"This school is really awesome, even better than my previous one." her eyes held warmth and joy which Yaksh hoped to see all the time.

"By the way, which school were you in before?" he asked her as they walked out of the classroom, tagged along by Aarav.

I was at the St.Fairies." The answer stunned both Yaksh and Aarav.

That school was like the best in their area. It had countless branches all over the city. At that, it provided facilities their school could never do.But still, their Hyphen High was better in terms of academics, ranking 1st in their region.

They were outside of the school and saw a huge, long black car waiting outside their school.

"Must be someone rich…." Aarav said as he looked at the car with sparkly eyes.

And to their surprise, a man with black suit walked out in a hurry to Aanya. He took her bag and walked her towards the car.

She waved at Yaksh before disappearing in the car as it raced through the road.

"Damn, she is hella rich." Aarav's words were stuffed out of Yaksh's circuit as he kept thinking the same thing.

'She…is rich huh. Then, is it even possible to be friends with her? Hah…my short lived crush, tsk' his emotions were practically floating on his face.

Aarav smacked the back of his head. "Lets go…"he said to his friend.

On their way, Aarav was the first to speak, as usual.

"She is rich, but that doesn't mean you can't like her. At that, you are the first rank in the whole school, so it will be alright I guess." His words startled Yaksh and had hit the exact nerve.

"What are you even talking about?" Yaksh's voice was shaking, probably from shock.

"You can't hide from me, you know. Most of the girls in  school only fight with you. As if they are cats and you are a dog. This was the first when you didn't bar-…I mean, quarreled with a girl.

Yaksh was almost red from his words, which brought nothing but embarrassment.

"So just try 'hard' which you have never done. And that's what will bring her close to you." Aarav stopped and turned to the alley beside him.

"Welp, on your own now." As he said that, Aarav left, leaving a Yaksh hammering his brain with motivation.

"Two years before board exams,...she will be mine." This was a huge promise for the one who was so lazy to even walk to school. Alas, no one was there to listen to him.

He then proceeded to his house.

It was a slum region, just like Aaravs. And his house was at the end of the slum alley. A small house with only one room.

Approximately 100 * 150 sq.ft.

It was enough for four, his parents and sister.

He took of his black school shoes and entered the house.

"I am home, mom." he said as he threw his bag on the bed in front. His mom was making food.

'Late night shift again,...'He thought as he saw his mom hurriedly working. ANyone could tell that she was overworking herself. But sadly, Yaksh was in his phase where he didn't care.

"I won't be home tonight, so don't fight with your sister and dad. Don't anger your dad or else I won;t be responsible for the after effect. And studies….well I can't even say anything about that."

Her words hurt him. As if he was a troublemaker or something, she was alrready assuming he would cause problems.

"Fine."he said so and took off his white shirt and the black tie. His black pants and went to the bathroom to wash himself.

Afer his bath, he wore the grey t-shirt and boxers he had prepared.

His mom was already leaving.

He didn't even bide a farewell. He took out his lunch box and ate it, while thinking of how to make Aanya fall for him. For he was not the one to ask a girl out. Even it meant losing love, he would make the opposite party confess.

'First, Start working out.

Second, Lets study a bit.

Third, Be happy daily.

Fourth, Please do all this.'

He requested his soul for it and tried to think about it again. Till then, his sister had already arrived.

Their relationship wasn't bad. In fact, it was good. Just that they quarelled a lot.

"Your lunch? Did you not eat at school?"Her worry was visible in her words.

"Nah, I ate at the canteen since I wanted to." she nodded.

"Night shift again?" she said as she tied her hair nin a bun.

His sister was in her first year of degree college. She had black hair just like him and sharp eyes with those one in a kind black pupils, again just like him.

They both looked like twins but weren't. To call her genius would be an overstatement, but she was indeed smart and hardworking.

Even though she was studying, she was also working as a freelancer. Being in ÍT'department made her open to many free lancing jobs.

He nodded and gave her the lunch box, telling her to wash it. She scowled, angered.

"Wash it yourself. Unlike you, I have my work and studies." Now now, she may seem rude, but it was right. After all, Yaksh had given quite a head ache to his family, ut continuously saying he won't ever study.

But, no one knew that he was also in slight depression which was growing everyday. What made him like this was this depression.

How you ask? It was because of all the behavior of his family and the taunts. Though he understood it him in the wrong, he still couldn't accept the tounts and rash behaviour.

"I am gonna study, so wash it will you?"he asked in anger. Both of them were quick to get angered. At that, Yaksh's anger was something terrifying.

So much that it even scared his older sister.

But right now, she was unimaginabely happy! He, her lazy and grumpy brother was ready to study!

"R..reakky!"After his confirming node and books he had talen out she immediately took his lunch box.

"I am making you favorite snack!"

She said and he smiled. "No don't. I am going to go for playing after finishing studying. And I am not much hungry either."

He told her, which surprised jer even more. The person who would eat non stop was Yaksh himself and still he refused his favorite snack! At that, he was going to play outside!!

Shocks and shocks, they weren't ending.

She gulped and acceptedit,...that her brother was finally changing.

And he indeed was….Change, brought and raised for love.
