Happy Day

Later that day, Coffee walked into Alice's room. "A-Alice... a-are you in here?"

Alice, who was still on her bed, turned to Coffee. "What do you want, Coffee?"

"U-Uh... well, Star said you were sad, so I... I just... wanted to come check up on you."

Alice sighed and turned back around, ignoring Coffee's presence. Coffee twiddled her fingers in confusion, unsure of what to do next. She wanted to come in to support Alice, but now, it seems she just made things worse.

Alice was still thinking about the words Maroon said to her. She didn't know why she was mad, all she knew is she was extremely upset. It was like a muscle reaction, a response to stimuli. Her outburst came naturally and she didn't even mean to do it. Her aura started tearing up more and more of the terrain.

She began to cry but for a different reason this time. She was upset at how she yelled at Yoshi. She realized why Yoshi called her a hypocrite. They made a deal to talk to each other whenever they were hurting, emotionally or physically, unless it was very certain circumstances when they needed to keep information private. She had broken those promises. If anything, Yoshi deserved to know just as much as she did. And she didn't even tell Pinoy about the Cyber Demon still being alive. She still doesn't even know if she truly killed it. I could still be out there.

Why was she a keeper? She didn't know the first thing about anomalies. She couldn't protect those she loved. All her friends kept getting hurt and Belle... Belle... Why was Alice even alive? What was her purpose? To be a freak... a symbol of bad luck that destroyed everything she touched. What was even the point of living? Everyone would probably be better without her.

She was being an awful friend and an awful girlfriend, and it was eating at her. "Pathetic... so pathetic..." she murmured to herself.

She looked in the mirror and red-eyed self in the mirror. "Pathetic is too generous of a word to describe you. You're a piece of dog shit. A useless waste of space that has never contributed anything to anyone's life. Even the little you do bring into their lives could be easily replaced by someone else. You have zero purpose. You're a fraud, a loser bitch-made, child of rape, degenerate sink tank of oxygen."

"Shut... up... Y-You're not... real."

"Oh, please. I'm real alright."

"T-Those things aren't true."

"But they very much are. We share a conscience, so it's not like these are just my words. You believe everything I'm saying just as much as I do."

Alice held herself while crying more. She couldn't take the voices from red eyes anymore. But then, she heard another voice. One that was softer and more innocent. "Alice." Suddenly, small arms wrapped around Alice's head and hugged her tightly. It was Coffee. "Are you talking to someone else?"

"..."

"What are they saying?"

"I-I shouldn't say..."

"But, are we not friends?"

"..."

"Sure, we've only known each other for a few weeks, but still I know you're a good person. Crazy, slightly. Blood thirsty, a little. Aggressive, yes. Boyfriend obsessed, absolutely. But beyond all that, you're a good person... I don't know what you're going through, and I don't need to know, but just know you have friends willing to help you."

"Coffee..."

"O-Oh, sorry!" Coffee let go of Alice's head and bowed to her. "I just said what was on my mind! I didn't mean to touch you without your permission!... D-Did what I say at least help?"

Alice looked back at the red eyed version of herself. The two stared at each other through the mirror for a while before the gold eyed version of Alice smiled. She then turned back to Coffee and rubbed her head.

"Yes, Coffee. It did. Thank you."

Coffee grew a large, innocent smile on her face and hugged Alice. Alice patted the back of her head.

"Alice, your back!"

"Yeah. Hey, we're is Yoshi. I have to apologize."

"He's in the art room."

"Thank you."

Alice walked out of her room through the campus. There, she saw multiple other students. Once again, they looked at her like she was some kind of monster, but this time, their looks were different. Instead of instinctual fear, it felt much more primal, yet hidden. The thing they feared had grown beyond their control.

But Alice didn't care. She had a handful of people she actually care about the opinions of. And the most important was in the building in front of her.

She walked in and found Yoshi in the art room, staring at pictures Alice made. Despite how much everyone hated her, her talent with both brush and pencil were too incredible to ignore. Half the art room just consisted of her masterpieces.

"Yoshi..."

Yoshi turned around to Alice. "Alice... I'm sorry for calling you a hypocrite. It wasn't right and-"

"No no no, you were completely right. I... broke our vow. You wanted to help me and I rejected your hand. I want to tell you and the others, but I don't... I just..."

"It's fine, honey. Tell us when you're ready. We won't go anywhere. At least, I won't."

"How can you be so sure?"

"Because you're my girlfriend. And besides, we've been through much worse together already."

"T-Thank you, Yoshi... but I need to tell you... all of you. You all deserve to know."
