Prologue

10 pm. Stargazing. Peaceful.

As she was strolling in their village while gazing at the dark blue sky, with thoughts clouding up her mind, she suddenly saw a man sitting on a bench, eyes closed and arms on the back of his head.

She comes closer and noticed who the guy is. She stopped abruptly with her feet glued on the floor and eyes wide open. Her heart began racing and her face started heating. He's here. The guy she was thinking all along.

Just like lightning, a realization strike on her mind to go nearer. She walked up to him nervously.

'this is the right time. Whatever happens, I'll tell him', she thought.

"Hi", she shyly approached.

"Hey", he smiled while rubbing his eyes.

Sitting in the quiet and cold night together while watching the moon and stars above. What a romantic moment it is.

That's why she thought that it might be the perfect time to tell what she feels.

"What will happen if the moon will disappear?" he asked while staring at her intently.

She stared at him in confusion.

"Ba't mo naman naitanong? End of the world na ba?" she chuckled.

"Hindi, gusto ko lang ng assurance na hindi ito aalis", he stated, avoiding her gaze.

"Hmm.. Assurance". A small smile was plastered in her lips, thinking that the guy wants an assurance from her. Pero hindi. Alam niya sa sarili niyang mali siya nang pagkaintindi.

Tumingin siya sa binata. Napakagwapo nito habang pinagmamasdan ang mga bituin. With his hazel brown orbs reflecting the crystals in the night sky, what a perfect view.

"Do you love the moon?" the girl asked, not taking her eyes off of him

"I dont think so. Ayaw ko lang itong mawala." he raised his hand up as if the moon's just meters away from him.

"Ikaw ba? Do you love the moon?" he asked back.

Umiwas ng tingin ang huli dahil medyo nahihiya ito sakanya.

"I love the night," sabi niya.

"Huh?" naguguluhang tanong ng lalaki.

"Because if I am the moon, you'll be the night."

He looked at her surprised, letting out a soft chuckle while biting his lip to cover up his smile.

"Thanks." Her heart sank.

She smiled bitterly. All along she bear in mind that this is enough. Reciprocating her feelings is unlikely possible.

"But do you know that the night was a day?" he asked.

"What do you mean?"

"I. am still. longing for my sun."

He said and left.

"Why did you invite me here?" she asked.

It's a late afternoon and the moon is starting to show. She remembered what happened here before, 2 years ago. The place where she confessed.

Naupo sila sa madamong bahagi habang nakatingala sa langit.

"I think," panimula ng binata.

"I think the night is already falling for the moon." He said, staring at her with hopeful eyes.

"The moon said thanks," she chuckled, smiling bitterly.

"Too bad.. The moon already disappeared." she continued and walked away.

With regretful eyes and a heart that's continuously stabbing, he knew the answer to the question he was finding for a long time.

That if the moon will suddenly disappear, he'll be an empty night.
