Chapter 60

Danuja spend her weekend, for the lack of a better word, cuddling Dad and making sure he eat all his meals while walking him wherever he wanted to go. It come at a point where Danuja was pretty sure he was walking her and not vice versa. 

She spend her two free days checking her teeth every few hours before moving her mouth in a biting movement trying to remember how in the world did she even bite through that guy flesh.

And on Monday, when Kana looked at her with slightly narrowed eyes, companionate with a small pout Danuja couldn't help but grin at her. 

'' What it is?'' she asked the silver headed girl smirking slightly when Kana pouted further before lifting her bag on her shoulder. Danuja couldn't help but note that the girl wasn't like her, just carrying two bottles of water and a couple of notebooks.

'' Does Danuja-san suddenly likes mornings?'' Kana asked back not even glancing at Danuja when she guided the girl from some students path, making sure no one touched her even by accident

'' Just Monday.'' Danuja said shrugging at Kana curious look '' I get to see something beautiful first thing in the morning.'' she said before biting her own tongue in surprise while trying to maintain a calm face

Kana just laughed before looking back at the school gate where the giant Irish Wolfhound was trotting to his new spot. She looked back a Danuja with a teasing look before adding softly

'' Then you should be lively every morning if you see that boy every day.'' she said looking ahead and not seeing Danuja deadpanned look that twitched in relief 

Lucky me? I guess  Danuja though glancing briefly behind at Dad before her lip twitched in amusement Almost cute actually

'' Oh, right.'' Kana said scooting closer to Danuja when a bunch of were running in group from their morning training if their state was saying anything '' Did you thought of a club to join?'' she asked looking at Danuja with big curious ayes

'' Not really.'' Danuja said mildly frowning when she remembered of the of the crumpled paper in her bag '' Did you find something?'' she asked opening the classroom door, nodding back at the group of boys playing on their phones who made a strange habit of greeting her like that since the first day of school.

Danuja wasn't sure how long this will go but if they weren't making any trouble for herself or Kana then then she couldn't exactly do anything.

'' Well-'' Kana said after she sit down on her seat, turning towards Danuja while the golden eyed girl was sure to stare down anyone that glanced at Kana back ''- there's a Karate Club.'' she said and Danuja couldn't help but blink startled at her 

'' Do you want to join that club?'' Danuja said and she felt her voice like she was drowning. Maybe it was an exaggerate reaction and downright judgmental from her part, from their positions but Danuja hated, despised the though of Kana ever lifting a hand even if it would mean to protect herself.

Danuja was there and she could be there every time Kana needed her, she could be much better than a lousy lesson of Karate. 

'' No.'' Kana said quickly and Danuja couldn't help the breath of relief that quickly changed in a concerned look when the girl hands begin trembling

'' Kana?'' Danuja said tapping the girl small hands with her rough fingertips. The loud sound of the door opening made every student look up beside Danuja who couldn't take her eyes from Kana, her back facing her now.

Danuja couldn't help the low growl in her throat that made her classmate, some boy she never learned the name of, startle in his seat and look with wide eyes at her.

'' Kana.'' Danuja said again when the bell rung and the teacher and students begin dispersing. She quickly guided her out of the classroom and for the first time since Highschool begin she couldn't help but think with bitterness of their private rooftop spot.

The new spot at the fence, where Dad was seating now was their best bet.

'' You don't need to worry.''  be scared '' What it is?'' she said pulling her jacket off before putting it around Kana shoulders, over her uniform 

'' I don't want to fight.'' she said chuckling while squatting down and leaning a little forward so she could pet Dad between the fence '' I'm not good at it.''

'' I can be good at fighting for both of us.'' Danuja said smiling briefly when Kana leaned on her side, humming amused

'' I just thought that Danuja-san would like a club like that. You were pretty interested of it last year.'' Kana said before shrugging '' I didn't mean to be like this.'' she said quietly, making Danuja seat on the ground so they could be on the same eye level

'' There's nothing wrong with being unique.'' Danuja remembered her making the girl blush prettily before smiling brightly looking much more relaxed

'' Thank you.'' she said softly before adding much more determinate '' Wouldn't you like it? A fighting related club?'' she said and somehow her straight look made Danuja smile 

'' Not really. There would be a lot of rules.'' Danuja said smiling widely when Kana laughed loudly, the same laugh that made Danuja stuck with her

'' That's so like you.'' Kana said before pursing her lips thinking '' What about another sport? There was basketball, volleyball, footfall and soccer even though I don't know the difference, there's a track team, a parkour team, swimming-'' Kana begin saying and Danuja, no matter how much she liked Kana, she needed to stop her before they would spend all their break listing sport related clubs that Danuja didn't care about.

'' That's a lot of them.'' Danuja said gently making Kana stop before blushing and pouting lightly '' How about I take another look at the list tonight and we can try something together?'' she said smiling when Kana looked at her with wide eyes, clearly surprised '' Doesn't it sounds better?''

'' It does.'' Kana said giggling softly, even pouting when the bell rung again for the next class

On the way to class Danuja frowned again, memories of last night in her mind before she asked

'' Say Kana, what's an ear made of?'' and Kana looked at her with curious eyes, not having the slightest idea what was in Danuja mouth last night.
