I woke up to the sound of a strange man's voice, his words resonating with urgency.
"She's stabilized now, but her condition is serious. Her kidneys aren't functioning properly, most likely due to prolonged use of drugs," he said.
My eyelids felt heavy, and I tried to open my eyes, my body still weak and exhausted. The man's words registered in my foggy mind, and I realized the gravity of my condition.
I heard Alexander's voice nearby, thanking the doctor.
"Thank you doctor. I'll call to get everything prepared."
Everything sounded muffled and distant to me, my mind slow to process the words. I tried to move, to sit up and see Alexander, my muscles barely cooperating. I needed water, my throat felt dry and itchy.
"Alex,"
I tried to call out, my voice barely above a whisper. I needed to hear more, to understand what was happening.
"Don't move," Alexander appeared in my line of vision, his expression tight with worry.
