Chapter 15: A Spar Between Dragons

I did say that it's still in progress, but meh~! Knack yourselves out~. 😆😜

¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦

"I choose... Hm. I guess I'll continue on my human front. That way, there won't be much explaining the will need to be done any time soon, and it will also make things more easier in my opinion."

I answered.

Yeah, I chose to continue as a human, but only for my front cover, for now at least.

Because as far as I know, this information will, in one way or another, get out of public nonetheless, no matter how much effort you put in to suppress it.

There will be an even or some "accidental" happenings that will surely happen that may require my full power, and this little secret of mine will be revealed.

But choosing to continue my human front, all those stupid trouble will be delayed at least and I won't have to deal with them any time soon.

"Hoho~. That's a good choice, my boy. Just as you have said, this way, we can at least suppress this information for the time being."

Grandpa Sylv agreed and continued to stroke his beard.

"I also agree. But don't worry, brother-in-law. I know we can find some information of your case eventually. Besides, it's not even that big of a matter. All this information about your situation would at least cause some unrest among the dragonkind and a commotion with the humans and the other races at the very least."

The prince said as he chuckled like it's nothing major.

'Yeah right~.'

"Mm! Maybe we can also send father a message and look this up in the library. This way, we'll be able to know what is up with your case, husband!"

The princess chipped in as she beemed at me brightly, not even realizing what she called me.

"*Sigh* That would be better, I guess. But is it alright if we sent this information to the King?"

"Oh, no worries there, brother-in-law. While he might hate you for stealing our princess, he's still a rational guy and would do things for the benefit of the masses more than his own."

The prince said lightly as I nodded, but then it struck me.

"Oh yeah, about this 'relationship' of ours'..."

I asked, hesitantly.

"Oh! If you are wondering if you can somehow get out of this, then the answer is a no."

"Eh? B-but why?"

"It's pretty simple, my brother-in-law. But first, let me ask you this... Are really against this kind of relationship with my sister?"

"Well... Not really. I was just hoping if we can take this slowly and more progressively than doing it so hastily..."

"PPfft! Hahaha! If that is your problem, then there's no need to worry! It's not like you two are going to be married any time soon, you know? We still have to wait until the two of you are more matured, and for now, you can think of this as an engagement."

"Hm, I see. Well that sounds better to me. Thank goodness..."

I said as I sighed out in relief.

Man I was really on edge there~!

I thought I would be forced to marry at the age of twelve!

"Oh, and for your first question, it's because I can already feel that my sister's aura already seeping in you, it only means that she have already marked you. And just in case if you don't know, ones a female dragon marked a male dragon, there's no turning back at that point. Call it the pride of us dragons, but it works that way since from the first generations of dragons. Female dragons can't change their partners any more once the mark have been given, and from that point on, their affections with their male counter part will only get stronger and stronger."

"I see now. But when did-"

"Uhm, I-I did it on the spur of the moment when I have accidentally bitten you too hard earlier, husband. But-but that doesn't mean that I regret my actions!"

The princess intergected before I could even finish as she stared at me with her hopeful eyes.

'Maybe she's thinking that I took offense in what she have said... Cute...'

I gave her a reassuring smile and said,

"No offense taken, princess."

"M-mou~. Don't call me princess, call me by my name~."

She said and pouted.

"Then drop the 'husband' and call me by my name too."

I said, making a compromise.

"Mm! Of course, Kross! But please call me by my nickname at least, you can call me Reah, just like what my family calls me."

"Uhm, sure. Reah it is, then."

"Mm!"

She beemed ever so brightly as she once again snuggled in my arms.

'*Sigh* What will I do with this girl...'

I mentally sighed.

"Now then-"

Before the prince could even finish, the door was slammed open.

"I Am here!"

'AllMight-san? Wait... Who?'

We all looked towards the door and the person who entered the room.

He looks really similar with prince Aultrec, but with his hair shorter, his lighter in color, and is more burlier than prince Aultrec.

All of us stared dumbly at the new arrival.

Three of us, me, grandpa Sylv, and Marcus looked at him with a deadpan look as we sweatdropped while the ones from the dragon group could only shake their heads.

"So, what did I miss?"

The newly arrived member asked as he looked at all of us.

"*Sigh* Oh brother. Anyway, I guess it's time that I properly introduce you. "

Prince Aultrec said helplessly.

"Everyone, this is our second brother, the second prince of Dragonariah, Clarret Asmodeious."

"And I love fighting!"

"What he said..."

""...""

"... O~kay?"

°.°.°.

"I know I have already asked this question for the second now, but... How exactly did we get into this situation?"

I asked with clear bufflement in my voice as I looked around the area.

We are currently in some come of a huge open arena, a collesium, much like to the one in Rome's but all white and grey.

This said arena have been fortified with strengthening magic and enchantments to the max so as to not get easily destroyed by the students as they fight with powerful attacks and magic.

And currently, there are a LOT of people here, all with the same looks of anticipation and amusement whic, leads me to my next question.

"And why are there so many people here anyway? It's still early though? For all I know this time is still supposed to be for classes."

"Hoho~! No worries my boy! This is the first day of school so obviously, classes will not start until tomorrow and this day is for familiarizing yourselves with the grounds here in the institute. And most youngsters these days prefer to spar with unknown parties to exchange pointers as their way of getting to know each other."

Grandpa Sylv said with an amused laugh.

"*Sigh* I get that, but what I don't get is why I have to fight with the second Prince of Dragonariah?"

Honestly? I don't even know myself and that's obviously the reason why I'm asking right now. Because as far as I know, I was just dragged here after the second prince's introduction.

"Hehe! What do you mean by that brother-in-law?! Of course we are here because we are going to fight!"

The second prince, Clarret, said as he clenched his fist with an eager smirk on his face as fire could be seen burning in his eyes, no, I'm serious. Fire is literally burning in his eyes.

" Yes I get that you want to fight, but for what reason?"

I said as wore a deadpan look and crossed my arms.

"Oh! Uh-! Yes! Because I want to know if you are worthy of our little sister!"

Or so he said, but I can clearly see that he's just trying to find excuses.

"*Sigh* Fine, fine~. Let's get started so we get end this quickly. I still yet to check on my form room, you know?"

I said and agreed as I uncrossed my arms which to the second prince's delight.

"So. What are the rules?"

"Hm? What do you mean?"

The second Prince asked as he gave me a clueless look.

"Well, we can't really go all out in here as the damages would be too great if we fight. So we better set a limitation on as how far we can use our abilities."

"Oh, I see what you mean. Then I suggest until what the humans called the fourth seal. Is that good for you? After all, I can only partially transform myself to that form before I take on my full dragon form."

"Mm. That would be good."

I agreed and he nodded.

"Alright,. You two ready?"

Prince Aultrec asked as he stood in the middle, the referee's place.

Both me and the second prince nodded in approval as we got into our combat ready stance.

"Now remember you two. This is just a spar so please don't go all out, we don't want to endanger everyone else here now, do we?"

Once again, we nodded.

"Alright! The spar will stop only after ten minutes! All combatants ready? FIGHT!"

*BOOM!*

[Third person POV]

"So how do we do this, second prince? With weapons, or pure combat?"

"Heh, no need to be so formal with me, brother-in-law and we're fighting right now, so we have to use our names respectively. It's a sign of us dragons of being fair warriors. And yes, we'll use pure combat."

"Well, if you say so. Now let's dance, shall we?"

"Oh~! You're too kind, brother-in-law! Of course we shall!"

The two smirked at each other as both of them charged at blinding speed as their fists connected.

*BOOM!*

Both of them were knocked backwards from the sheer force, but you can't see any discontent in their faces, but anticipation.

"You pack a lot punch, Clarret!"

"I can say the same for you, Kross!"

The two once again crossed hands as flurries of punches and kicks were sent by both of them, none having any advantage over the other.

"Let's kick this up a notch, shall we?!"

Clarret yelled loudly as both his arms got enveloped in red flames as a deep red gauntlet took its place.

"Heh~! Now we're talkin'!"

Kross did the same as his arms got covered in bright crimson flame as his armored gauntlet manifested.

""HAAAHHH!!!""

**BOOM!!!**

*BOOM!!*

*BOOM!*

Once again, the two clashed as explosions resulted in every contact they did with each other.

[POV changed: Clarret]

Hehehe~! I can't deny it. Mine and brother-in-law's strength are just on the same level! And that on its own is already incredible because as far as I know, the only one who can match my strength in our generation is my brother, but now there's another one.

We threw ourselves at each other as we exchanged punches after punches, kicks after kicks.

Sometimes I'm the one getting pushed back, and sometimes him.

We continued with our pace as our attacks becoming more and more powerful as the explosions kept on booming in the background.

Everything in my surroundings became a blur, the only one I'm seeing right now is my opponent, a very worthy opponent!

Fast, fast, fast! We're getting faster and faster as the wind begins to stir up in our surroundings!

'This fight, I'm enjoying it!'

[POV changed: Kross]

What can I say? As expected of a dragon.

Our speed, strength, and power are basically on the same level!

I attack, he defends, he sent an attack, I counter with defense.

Our fist fight is getting more and more intense that I could only vaguely hear the people cheering in the background!

No other voices were clear enough for me to comprehend except for my heart beats, my foot steps, my breaths!

The adrenaline, my blood keeps on pumping, it keeps on raging for me to keep on going!

Wind started to pick up around the two of us, but I couldn't care less of any outside intervention.

Right now, there's only one thing in my vision, one man that I deem worthy as my opponent!

I haven't felt this exhilarated since my fight with the poison dragon!

'This fight, I'm enjoying it!'

[POV changed, third person]

The wind started to form into a small scale hurricane in the middle of the stadium with Clarret and Kross as the center.

Their movements were too fast for the other spectators to follow as all they can see were two blurs in different shades of red flashing here and there, on every corner of the stadium!

Gasps of admirations and squeals of excitement filled the air as the students began cheering.

"Uhm... Should we stop them?

Altreah asked, looking a little anxious as her eyes deeply glued on both figures, not losing sight of them despite their insane speed.

"Hm~. Nah. There's only a minute left anyway, so let's just keep on watching. Besides, both of them look like they are having fun."

Aultrec, who is standing beside his sister in the referee's usual place said lightly, which were followed by an amused chuckle.

Sure enough, just like he have said.

The two combatants have similar smirks on their faces as their eyes burned with fighting spirit.

"If you say so, brother."

"Mhm. Just watch. And besides, it's only been an hour since you two have been engage, though unoficially, you already care for hims too much."

He said with a sly smirk showing on his face.

Seeing this, Altreah immediately turned red, almost as dark as her hair!

"Hahaha-"

Aultrec laughed at his sister's reaction but was cut off by an explosion.

*BOOOMM!!!*

"Oh? I guess they're wrapping it up already."

"Hey Clarret! Time is running out, let's finish this with a bang!"

"Hahaha! I like your style, Kross!"

The two put distance with one another as they both took on the same stance.

The ground beneath them cracked from the pressure.

""HAAAH!!!""

Two leaped up high as they pulled back their right fists as they quickly approach each other.

""RED/CRIMSON DRAGON'S FLAMING FIST!!!""

*BOOOOOOOOOOOMM!!!*

Dust rose up from the ground as violent wind surged towards the expectators. If not for the barrier that appeared just in time, then most of them would have been blown just from the force!

Various gasps of shock and elation, excitement, anticipation!

All of them focused on the two combatants on the stage.

Faint voices were heard, panting.

They craned their necks to see what was the result of the final clash.

The dust settled and revealed the two combatants.

Both look fine except for their hairs in a mess, their clothes dishevelled and their fists still red from their last attack.

"BATTLE ENDED!"

Aultrec announced as the whole stadium erupted in cheers and applause.

"Hehe. I haven't had that much fun in a while, Kross."

"Heh~. Same here. Let's do this some other time, shall we?"

"Hahaha! Yes we shall! And by that time, no more holding back!"

"Hahaha! Agreed!"

The two laughed loudly as they shook hands, giving the sign of acknowledgement with each other.

"Hohoho~! Just like I always say~. There's nothing better than making friends after a great fight."

"I don't remember you saying that, Dean. Not even once."

"Oh shush, Marcus. But what I said is indeed true. Usually, friendship that is found in the midst of battles tend to last longer."

"Well, I could agree with you on that."

-fin.
