Chapter 7

The next morning, Alia woke up as usual. When she's remembered yesterday, the sunset at the cliff, his face, those were like a dream. She couldn't get a proper sleep because of it.

As for the prince, he woke up with a terrible eyebags under his eyes. He couldn't get any sleep at all. Then suddenly, he heard his door knocked. "Young master, the king wants to meet you right now." A woman voice he heard. Maybe a maid.

"Okay, I'll be right there."

He took a quick bath, and wore his normal silk clothes. He get out of his room and headed straight for the king's room.

He opened the door and found his father was sitting on a chair beside a window. He look at the outside of the window before he realised his door opened.

"Lewis. Come here. Sit in front of me."

"Yes, father."

Lewis took his step closer to the king and sit on the chair that was in front of his father.

"Today's weather is like the other, isn't it?"

Lewis took a look at the outside of the window.

"It is indeed." He answered.

"Why are your face looks horrible? Couldn't get enough sleep?"

"Yes. That may be the case."

"Have you fallen in love with a girl?"

Lewis surprised to hear that. Never he thought his father asked him such question.

"You look different from before." His father added. "You came back home with a smile, you look cheerful, not like you were before. There's a bright aura around you right now. That was the change to those who's fallen in love."

Lewis didn't know that he's changed. He even not sure if he's in love. But what is his dad was saying right now, confirmed it that he's in love with Alia.

"Maybe... Maybe I am. Maybe I do love her." He admitted that he love her.

"It's a good thing that you've found someone that suits your taste. Tell me, what her face like?"

"It's very beautiful. Almost like an angel. like... Mother."

"Ahh... If she's indeed looks like your mother, than she must be really beautiful." Said the king.

"I miss her, father. I miss mother."

"I too, son. But that doesn't change the fact that she died 20 years ago." The king feeling nostalgic about his wife.

"That reminds me..." The king added. "Did you know that our family, Bryna family has a birthmark on their body?" He asked.

"Yes, it's the wing shaped mark, right?" Lewis replied.

"Indeed it is. I remembered when the first time I did it with your mother. I was surprised to see it when she strip..."

"Okay that's enough, father. Tell me no more about your first time." He felt sick when his father started to talk about her mother like that.

"Okay, okay, I'm sorry." He laughed a little.

"How did mother died father?" He's trying to uncover the truth about her mother's death.

"Well, I can't blame you for not remembered it since you were still a kid that time. Your mother was killed in the war 20 years ago."

Lewis surprised. He knew that a war happened 10 years ago. He knew that the war was so horrible that it's called the Blood River War.

"It's literally like a river of blood everywhere at the time. I'm actually a mercenary soldier back then."

"You're not from a royal family?"

"Yes that's right. I became the king because I was elected by the residence. Before I was elected, Your mother, Sylvia, and I live in a village. When I was away, a group of Elvia's soldier, who was one of the kingdom that rage war at the time came into the village and massacred everyone in the village. We live in the Evedonia borderlands. So their action was to provoke the Evedonian."

Lewis keep listening to his father's story. He's really into history. He never ran away from history classes. He thinks that history made the day today.

"Your mother actually impregnated with you inside her. You actually born just before she died."

Lewis felt horrible. He felt anger towards the Elvian.

"You actually had a sister." The king added.

"What?"

"But she died. Her heart stopped beating. I brought her gave her to the nearest village, so that they can dig a grave for her. At the time I currently carrying you to find shelter. I was in a rush. I couldn't even see her funeral." The king couldn't hold her tears anymore.

Lewis also felt sad. He never knew that his father had such a dark background. He always saw his father as a cheerful person. Not a single time he saw his father crying like this.

"I just want to tell you to cherish your moment with loved one."

"I will father." Said Lewis.

The king stood up from his chair and walked to the cabinet beside his bed. He opened a drawer and took out a small box. He opened the box and saw a beautiful ring inside it.

"I actually want to give it to your mother back then. But I couldn't make it. I'm sure she's gonna be happy if I give it to you."

Lewis accepted the gift without any question.

"When you're ready, give it to her."

"I will, father."
