Chapter 004 : Hello there

Ayuma stared at the vast expanse before him and sighed in irritation. All he wanted was to peacefully live his second life... but that did NOT mean he wanted to live all alone on a planet with nothing and nobody else. The heck, there wasn't even a zombie or a jellyfish here. Things he loathed most, yet he suddenly felt that maybe even jellyfish could be good friends, though they themselves were brainless creatures. As for zombies... Nah, he would pass. He still hadn't lost his sanity to seek 'undead' company.

As he looked around him, hoping there was some guide book or cheat lying somewhere... he felt a strange and powerful voice slowly trying to talk with him.

"HHHHHHAUGGGH"

"Uh? English please"

"HAAÀAAAAGGGGHHHHHHIIIIIIIIHHH... HELLO"

"APOLOGIES FOR THE DELAY. COMMUNICATION WITH HUMANS IS A PAIN IN THE TECTONECK PLATES. UGH."

"Ummm. Glad to know I'm not alone. But who are you? And could you please try saying what you spoke again? I didn't understand a thing."

"Uh. Not to be rude, but could you please tell me what the heck can I do to pass my time here on... your majestic Planetic body?"

"YOU CAN CHOOSE TO HIBENATE FOR AS LONG AS YOU WANT. AND THERE IS NO LIMIT ON THE NUMBER OF TIMES YOU CAN DO IT. JUST DECIDE TO SHUT OFF YOURSELF AND THEN YOUR SOUL WILL FALL ASLEEP.

BY WHAT INFORMATION YOUR PAST LIFE MEMORIES HAVE... YOU SHOULD BE KNOWING JUST HOW MANY MILLIONS OF YEARS LATER WILL SENTIENT CIVILIZATION POSSIBLY DEVELOP. OKAY, ANY QUESTIONS?"

"How can I set the number of years my soul hibenates? How long will it take before humans are born? Do I exist as a soul intangible forever!?"

"THE NUMBER OF YEARS DEPENDS ON YOUR MENTAL DECISION. ALSO, YOU CAN SEND YOUR SOUL TO BE BORN AS A SENTIENT LIFEFORM BY UTTERING THE WORD 'BIRTH'."

"Okay. But when could you be waking up?And what's your name"

"LATER...."

"What does later mean? And could you please give me a name? It's siliy to call you as planet and wait.... you didn't fall asleep now did you?"

When he felt the presence in his mind fading, that was all he needed to know that the planet had fallen asleep.

He felt pissed off. Even though he had spoken to the planet with respect, it didn't give him a damn and just told him to hibernate as well. What the heck! He wasn't a planet, he was a human. Sleeping alone for millions of years wasn't the wish he had in mind. In what way was this any different from eternal sleep?! He didn't ask to become a sleeping ghost... absolutely not.

After cringing for three hours, he finally cooled down.

"Okay Ayuma... now just think what was taught to you in science class. It took 200 millions years to welcome the age of dinosaurs. Or was it 700 million?... when did insects come onto land... AAAAAGH!!! Why the heck did I bunk science class. If only I knew I was gonna come into this kind of place, forget the science class, I'd have studied the whole elephant sized library."

He could hear his own thoughts as if to remind him that he was alone on this planet with none except a sentience that claimed to be the planet and was hibernating until God knows when.

He wondered what would greet him when he woke up... would it be dinosaurs like his own world? Could it be that in this planet he might see different beings like aliens or beast folk? He wasn't keen on seeing orcs though. He wondered if wizards like Gandalf or (you know who) existed. He thought about it for a couple of hours. Finally he set his hibernation for three hundred and seventy million years.

As he decided that he would then fall asleep... he felt as if his soul was suddenly exhausted and dehydrated, which ideally would not be possible for a soul. But as the exhaustion took over him, his soul went into dormant mode and a status called 'Dormant' was visible on his soul. Obviously he was unaware of that as he was.... well 'hibernating'.

370 Million years + :

He slowly woke up and started to yawn. When he felt no water come to his eyes, he remembered that he was a soul now and he couldn't yawn like a living being. When he looked around him, he was truly shocked by what he saw.

Holy Jesus! This was a fantasy world. Even if he had no body and was only a soul waiting for humans to come into existence, this was an isekai adventure. Yup, one hundred %.
