Flames of The Evergreen Forest

(Author: this is a continuation of chapter 2 from the point that garldur discovered his doom, when the vines attacked)

At that instant Garldur heartbeat was already through the roof and his face was twisted.

Just a moment ago he was feeling awesome.

Now he was awaiting death.

There was no time at all, the creature he is facing is 3 levels higher than him, he is beaten in almost all stat and the very worst he has no weapon, how can he ever hope to survive.

Their is one thing though... his over the roof perception.

at the moment it was as if time has slowed down.

The vines aimed for his whole body.

even though everything was slow, that does not mean he was faster, he could hardly move but he just had to, because his life depends on it.

as he tilted to the side he could see the distance reading down and

with the wind the vine slightly missed him, slashing his shirt and slight hitting him.

but that was not all, again right by him, more vines came rushing and with still the tilting momentum he had to throw himself Back.

as is hung on the air reaching the ground he had to pray his last.

- men I can't believe this is how I die, so much life and potential... just to go like that-

he hits the ground.And here comes the vines.

he closed his eyes and awaited his death

[It appears the vine are weak to sunlight or rather heat.]

[luckly for you, you managed to jump out to the grass field, since you happened to not have gone in deep enough]

That was like the best news ever to garldur right now.

"huhh... haha... haahaha ,yes am alive!!!, I thought I was dead for sure"

he got up dusted his clothes and while forgetting the pain on his chest he turned to the system.

"and you, you dare call me a scardy cat, I least I just saved both of our asses while you didn't help at all.....

- so it hates heat huh, well we'll see about that-

yeah, garldur was so angry and so elated that he totally didn't care or notice the pain.

"System show me how to make fire, we got some vines to cook , am going to make that vine pay"

and so with the systems help, garldur went around the open field picking up sticks, dry grasses and leaves to make fire setting it up near the trees edge, using his technical analysis, it took no time at all, and now it started blazing.

*clink* clank*

slowly the trees started burning and it started to spread.

within 30 min of waiting, garldur could already hear the sound of creatures wailing, and he couldn't get any happier.

"hahaha feel the burn. that's what you get for trying to make me food"

[The flames is getting out of hand]

-nothing, if the whole forest shall burn down , then so be it, besides it's only Good for me-

in a little far but not so far area, we can see people standing, man ,woman and children standing and pointing hands as they watch smoke rising from a not so distant forest that they know as the evergreen forest, They appear to be in a village and as we move through this people past the shops and stores, we approach a big building at the heart of the village. The sign board says, Adventurers guild, there happens to be two men coming out from the building.One was 5.7 , holding's a staff and wearing a robe and the other was 6.0, has a pick in his mouth,some armor and a sword. They seem to be in a party

"So they want us to quench the fire?"said the guy with a pick in his mouth as he looks to his fellow.

" Yeah Han we are the only ones with the ability that care enough to actually do this even with the little prize, I mean it is our village, it's the least we could do"

"well then, let's be done with it"

after some time of waiting we can see two people walking out from the dark burnt trees filled with smoke as the flames have been quenched.

" coug* coug*, finally fresh air, Han, how is it that you are dealing with this smoke, Han..Han!"

"would you shut it, am over here, it seems like this fire didn't just start by any random factor"

They seem to have found garldurs settings.

" then does that mean that someone or something purposefully want to burn down evergreen village?"

" We are about to find out "

The guy with the picks that has been called Han many times now, noticed someone lying on the ground, but before he know it, his fellow has already gone close to the seemingly culprit and is poking him.

"Hey what are you doing , we don't know who that is."

at that moment garldur activated all his acting skills and started.

" ugh...please help me "
